France Javier, a sixteen year old promising skater of the Philippine Skating Union had only one goal—and it is to fulfill the dream of Ken Madrigal, a figure skater who died saving him in a vehicular accident five years ago. Whether it is to get the gold, silver, or bronze medal in the Grand Prix Finals of Figure Skating doesn’t matter, as long as he’d stand at the international podium, in front of thousands of people where he’ll be remembered as the first Southeast Asian in history to hit either one of the three ranks.
Having the opportunity to improve under a three-time Olympic champion coach in a sixth month training in California, France continues to learn more about his strength and weaknesses, as well as the limits of his ability with the influence of certain acquaintances and friends at the rink. Ngunit ika nga ng isang sikat na kasabihan, “things are always easier said than done.”
With a new short program and free skate which expresses his feelings through artistry, he walks in a new figure skating season, aware of the possibilities but unprepared, especially when he meets Maxim Belyaev, a Russian top figure skater and Ken’s long-time rival in the sport. As things suddenly gets out of hand with a hundred percent chance of him failing in one of the international competitions sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU), France unleashes his talent, aiming to be the best in order to reach his dream, and keep his eyes on ice.
