Trixy's POV Hi! My name’s Trixy Sullivan. I’m a college student, a little small for my age, but that’s fine. I love drawing, rapping, covering songs, and eating strawberries! I have amazing friends: Ellyry, Ember, Seinna, Eris, Yui, Churie, and Xeris. We all go to the same school, and some of them are even in my class. I was walking down the hallway holding a big box of chocolates and some flowers, waiting for Heimez. I've had a crush on her for years now. I don’t even know why—she just makes me feel... happy. Nervous, but happy. Every time I try to give her something, though, it doesn’t go the way I hope. “Excuse me?” I heard a soft voice to my right. I turned, and my heart did a somersault. There she was—Heimez. She looked amazing, as always. I got so nervous I could feel butterflies in my stomach. “Hey, Heimez. I—I wanted to give you this…” I said, holding out the chocolates and flowers. She glanced at them but didn’t reach out. Her friends whispered something to each other, and I could feel the awkwardness building. “I think you’ve done enough, Trixy,” she said, her tone flat. Before I could respond, Xeris appeared beside me. “Alright, that’s enough,” she said calmly but firmly, standing between us. She gently took my arm and led me away without saying anything more. By the way, that’s Xeris Foztom—one of my closest friends. She’s 21, a little older than the rest of us, and always watching out for me. Once we were out of earshot, she sighed. “Bro, you seriously need to stop doing this. I mean, chocolates and flowers? She’s not the right one for you. You’re awesome, Trixy—don’t waste that on someone who doesn’t see it.” “But she’s... special,” I mumbled, smiling sadly. Xeris rolled her eyes. “Special? Please. Anyway, we’ve got a review test today. Catch you later at the cafeteria!” She took off down the hallway, and I made my way to class, still thinking about what just happened. --- When I walked into class, all my friends were already seated—and staring at me. Not the friendly kind of stare. Uh-oh. I sat down next to them, pretending not to notice. “What? Why are you all staring at me?” “Trixy,” Churie said, folding her arms. “We’re your friends, but you seriously don’t listen. You know we saw what happened again today, right?” “Seriously?” I asked. “If you’re my friends, shouldn’t you support me?” “We have supported you,” Eris cut in, frustrated. “For years. But you keep getting hurt, and now it’s affecting you. We’re just worried. We care about you, but we don’t want to see you lose yourself.” Her words hit me hard. I didn’t know what to say. I felt tears prick my eyes, but Elly reached over and gave me a hug. Seinna gently patted my head. Churie was about to say something else, but our professor entered, and the lesson started. --- Time Skip – Later at the Cafeteria We were all eating lunch quietly. I wanted to break the silence, but then I saw Heimez sitting with Filix. They looked really happy. A part of me wished things were different—like I could be the one who made her laugh. Even for one day. “Trixy, hello?” Eris snapped her fingers in front of my face. “Sorry, what?” “I said I’m sorry for earlier,” she muttered. “You just frustrate me sometimes. But I didn’t mean to be harsh.” I smiled. “It’s okay. I wasn’t really myself either.” Suddenly, a loud voice interrupted us. “WHARAP BITCHES!!” We all turned as Xeris, Seinna, and Churie came running up to the table like a storm. “Keep your voice down!” Elly said, turning red. “People are staring!” “We’re not doing anything weird, okay? Chill!” Xeris said, flopping into a seat. We all burst out laughing. “Did you hear the news?” Ember asked out of nowhere. “What news?” we all asked. “That I’m the most beautiful angel in this school, obviously!” she said, flipping her hair. We groaned and made faces at her. “Please, someone take this girl’s phone away,” Elly muttered, laughing. “Okay but for real,” Xeris said, “we’re getting a 1 or 2-week break after this test. Let’s throw a party at my house!” “I’m in!” I said quickly. “Same!” everyone else echoed. The mood lifted instantly. --- Once lunch was over, I told the others to go ahead without me. I said I forgot my science book in my locker, but that wasn’t true. After they left, I grabbed my bag and took a taxi straight to the HOI Hospital. I spent most of the ride watching TikTok and scrolling through Heimez’s Instagram. It was the usual—pictures of her and Filix. Always them. Together. It still hurt, but I looked out the window and let the trees distract me. “We’re here,” the driver said. I thanked him, paid, and got out. Inside, I almost walked straight to my usual room, but then I saw someone familiar. I walked closer. “Heimez?” I said softly, waving. She turned around, looked at me for a second, then turned away without a word and walked past me. I stood there, pretending it didn’t bother me. I sighed and walked into my doctor’s office. “Trixy! Good to see you,” the doctor said. “Please, have a seat.” I sat down quietly.
