"See you tomorrow." He said and plants a soft kiss her on her forehead as respect.
"See you. Take care." She said with a genuine smile. He never fails to flatter her with his small sweet gestures.
"Drive safely." He replies with a warm smile on his lips and a glans of concern in his eyes.
She embraced him with her arms, she always hugs when she needs an energy from him, just like before.
"You too." She mutters to him as he immediately hugs her back and tightens the hug.
A flash back
Rue is quietly looking around while sipping with her wine on her table. She liked the theme and since it's a masquerade party, she can hide her face. She is wearing a shiny black fitted tube gown with a slit on side from her thigh paired with black glittered mask and black small purse. But she is not there to party, she is looking for someone.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, thank you for coming to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Montenegro Company. I'm your emcee for tonight and before I call for the son of Montenegro, Mr. Adrian Montenegro, let's give him a round of applause." The man said on the stage and people clap their hands, so she just also claps her hand.
She followed her gaze to a man that stood up and went to the stage. He looked at him from head to toe, she can't see anything and just thought that he's not probably the one he is looking for.
"Good evening, everyone. On behalf of my father, Alfredo Montenegro, I thank you all for coming tonight, for supporting our company for 80 years. From the stockholders and all the employees of our company, thank you for working with us. We are not able to be here if not because of you all. Enjoy your night everyone" The man said, and people clap again, but she chose and just sip on her glass.
The emcee said something, but she didn't care because she is busy observing the people around her. The man from the stage earlier is now shaking hands with some person.
The party began and everything is just smooth not until she already found the person that she is looking for but then a sound of gun echoed inside the room.
As a person lie down on the floor and the room filled with scream in horror, she smelled a blood coming from a human.
'This can't be. Not now and not here.' The room is in total chaos, the people is finding its way to go out, but she didn't dare to move, she knew that if she turn around, it will be the end of her life.
Her blood thirst is lingering on her body, she felt an extremely dry on her throat while smelling the blood coming from the person shoot by a gun.
She felt her body trembles and held on to the table using all her strength to hold back but the fragrant of the blood is all over the room, the scent is becoming strong.
"Are you okay?" Someone showed up in front of her with worried voice. She lifts her head up and saw a man looking at her with anxious face.
She just stared at his dark brown eyes, she is too intoxicated by the smell of blood to open her dry and shaking lips.
"Let me get you out of here." The man thought that she is too shocked with the situation to respond, he put his tuxedo around her shoulder and led her somewhere away from the room.
They are quietly sitting inside a car and the atmosphere is awkward, no one dares to talk. The smell of blood still lingered on her nose.
"What is your address? I will drive you there." The man proposed with a calm yet masculine voice.
"No thank you, I have my car." She straightly refused his offer. She is still catching her breath and tried her best to calm her entire system. She immediately gets a small bottle with clear liquid on her purse and drink it within a second.
"You don't look okay, Miss." The man said as he witnessed her drinking, he thought that is an alcohol. He also saw her face became pale even more and her body seemed to be weak.
She just ignored him and opened the car's door, although she felt weak, she managed to walk outside the car. The liquid is just a substitute to her blood thirst, she needed a real one but it is on her condo.
Her body is still unstable, but before she could take another step and lose a balance, she felt a hand on her wrist and felt her world spin around that gave her headache. She felt her body hit by a hard object. She closed her eyes tightly and continued to lose balance, but she felt another hand on her waist.
"I told you, you're not okay. Don't be a stubborn, Miss." The man's voice whispered on her ears with a soothing and emphasis on his tone.
She felt her body reacted to his energy. She didn't know the exact reason but it gives her strength. She wrapped her arms to him that made his body him stiffened.
"W-what are you doing, Miss." The man startled question and his voice stammered.
"Just a moment." She replied as she felt her body going stronger, not minding her action, that he is a stranger. But she knew that this kind of energy is not from a dreadful human.
"May I know your name?" The man cleared his throat after uttering those question.
"Will you please shut up for now." She said directly without hesitation, the man just assumed that she is extremely tired and frightened from the event.
Little did they know, there is an eagle's eyes that's watching them the whole time from the very start and followed them until they reached to the condo.
