The weather today was nice enough for just a walk. A thought briefly crossed Yuri's mind as he looked at the city view outside his workplace window. The suffocating pile of documents had been finished. Now, with a sense of foreboding, he tried to relax for a moment. It was already 3 p.m. Yuri then left his office. He walked slowly through the surrounding area. Several rooms seemed closed, and what annoyed him most was the loud shouting of one of his coworkers. After he arrived at the room, he saw that people had already arrived. The meeting they had been previously notified was now about to begin. One by one, they seemed to be getting ready, and even the old man was also present. A 54-year-old man. The man indeed looked tough and also very confident. They also called him by his nickname, William. After everyone had arrived, Yuri calmly approached them and then sat down in his chair. The same with the boss. He had arrived and was now sitting in his place. His smile was always ambiguous. This time the meeting was about to begin. It had been a long time since those days, but now the gathering was back to being as lively as before.
“Okay everyone, we better get started,” the boss said calmly.
"Wait a minute."
“Yes? What's wrong, Raimond?” Everyone's eyes suddenly turned to him. He just sighed before saying anything.
“Isn’t it a bit too much to just jump right into that?”
“Actually, that's what I wanted to tell you guys.”
"What?"
"Listen, everyone. We're currently in the midst of an inflation crisis. So, the right move is to implement this plan. What do you think?"
"What you said is true, boss," replied Diov.
“Wouldn't that be too risky?” William said.
“No. This will be very interesting. What do you think, Yuri?”
“Ah, I feel the same way. I think this will be great.”
"Allow."
“What? Hey, my gosh,” said Raimond.
"I understand you're worried about something. But, the steps the boss has planned will never go wrong. Actually, I was thinking the same thing as you, gentlemen."
“Okay, since so many people are against it, I guess I’ll have to come up with a backup plan.”
"Wait a minute, what do you mean? Didn't you already prepare it?" Yuri said suddenly.
"That's right. But since many people, except you, weren't convinced, I had to change it," the boss said casually.
Upon hearing his words, everyone began to calm down. Yuri, on the other hand, was still shocked by the change. It was unusual for her to feel this way. It was like being in a tense situation and then being torn apart by disappointment. Yuri then fell silent, trying to remain calm. Slowly, the meeting returned to discussing the plan and was now almost reaching its climax. After nearly three hours of discussion, it was already over. Yuri, along with the others, got up from their seats and were about to leave the meeting room. However, not long after, the boss asked her to stay there, saying that he intended to discuss something with Yuri. Yuri's gaze was curious and she followed what he had just said.
"I have something to tell you. That's why I asked you to stay in this room."
“Okay, I will listen to what you have to say, boss.”
"Do you know these people?" the boss asked, showing a number of photos that immediately caught Yuri's attention. Yuri couldn't look away, continuing to stare at the people in the photos.
“Wait, I think I've seen that somewhere.”
“Really? What do you think? Is this person dangerous?”
"Ah, I'm not sure about that. Because at the time, I just passed by him without speaking to him. That was a long time ago, too. Is there something wrong with this person?"
“I just feel like this guy is a fly that will get in our way.”
"What do you mean?"
“Someone reported it to me a few months ago. That we might be in danger if we let him live. Do you understand what I meant?”
“Yes, I understand very well.”
“That's right. That's why I entrust it to you.”
Hearing his request, Yuri immediately fell silent and once again looked at the face of the man in the photo. With a calm gaze, Yuri then nodded her head. After the boss finished talking to her, Yuri immediately left the room and was about to return to her office. Her thoughts were momentarily confused when she heard that the person had a high chance of destroying them. This time, her mind was truly filled with big questions. Arriving inside her office, she quickly immediately sought out the identity of the person whose name was previously written in the photo. A young man who seemed like a good person. His face, which certainly had many fans, made her immediately surprised.
“What? This person doesn’t have any identification?” Yuri muttered, starting to get shocked.
He continued searching for information until he didn't realize it was already 8 PM. The atmosphere at his workplace was now quiet. Some people had started to leave the building and so did he who was starting to go home. As soon as he arrived right in front of the parking lot, Yuri immediately got into his car and started driving. On his way home, he was still thinking about that person. Until now, he had always managed to get everyone's identity. But, this time was really different and it made him curious about the threat of danger that his boss had spoken about. The city view looked quite busy. Several people were busy with their activities. Not only that, many were around the city center just to relax. Arriving near his apartment, Yuri then parked his car and after that, he entered the apartment building. Even though this was indeed his house, he had never interacted with the people who also lived in the same building as him.
“Oh, young man.”
"Of?"
Suddenly, an elderly man called out to her. Yuri, surprised, approached him. From any angle, the man seemed new to the neighborhood, making Yuri a little wary. He also looked well-groomed, as if he had just returned from a formal event.
“Is there anything I can help you with?” Yuri said spontaneously.
“Actually, I came here to meet someone but that person is not here.”
“Excuse me, who would you like to meet?”
"Jonathan Weel," said the man, which immediately made Yuri freeze.
