Chapter Four

"I'm sorry, Cassie but the Queen of the witches would be glad to hear news of you." She said and vanished into the portal.

THE WITCHES COUNCIL
There was a huge throne made of silver with sculptures of Ravens hanging by each side. At the back were pinkish black wings spreading both ways. If you don't look closely, you would mistake them for a vulture's wings. According to the witches, the wings were symbolic but no one has actually found out what it symbolises and what species of creatures it belonged to.
Sitted on the throne was a woman with a red and long wavy hair. She wore a handless red flowing gown and held her sceptre firmly. She was very beautiful and was stern in appearance. Beside her were two maids whose head were bowed. She is Lucinda, queen of the witches.
Lucinda noticed something and looked around. She felt something tingle inside of her. That means a magical being will pay her a visit soon. Suddenly, Crystal appeared before her.
    "Greetings, my Queen." She bowed.
Lucinda smiled. "Crystal, What news do you have for me today?" She asked.
"Your majesty, I found Harven and Roanna's daughter." Crystal said.
Her countenance changed. "What!!! Are you sure?" She asked.
"Yes, my Queen and her powers are manifesting too. But, she does not know how to control them yet." Crystal said still bowing.
"No! That is bad news for us, witches. She must be eliminated!" Lucinda said.
"But, my Queen, she can be of use to us. She has a dark side. And if we tread carefully, we might win her over to our side, and bring her demon out. That way, she would help us to overthrow her parents." Crystal said.
"Crystal, that's a brilliant plan! I'll inform the the council members about this. Just keep an eye on her okay?" Lucinda asked.
"Yes, my Queen. I won't disappoint you." Crystal said.
"Good," She cackled. "I have always said that Harven and Roanna were hiding something. It turned out to be their daughter, an heiress! No! That can never happen. I must rule the realm of pure magic." Lucinda said.
"And you will, my Queen, for there is no one more greater than you." Crystal bowed in eulogy.
Lucinda smiled proudly. "You may go." She ordered.
"Alright, my Queen." Crystal said and conjured up a portal then went through it to the school.

Crystal appeared back in school, and came face to face with Lily.
"Hi, Lily." She waved with a smile.
"Don't you have respect? How dare you call me by my name when it's just the two of us here?" Lily snapped.
"I'm sorry, my Princess. Please, forgive me." Crystal said and bowed.
Lia rolled her eyes and said, "Tell me everything about that girl."
"What girl?" She asked, pretending not to know.
"The girl you told my mother about." Lily said impatiently.
Yeah! Lily is the daughter of Queen Lucinda. She is a very experienced witch and heiress to her mother's throne. She is very possessive and doesn't want anyone to be a threat to the throne which would soon be handed over to her. That is why she wants to know everything about Cassie at all cost.
"I told your mum nothing." Crystal lied.
"You're foolish, if you think you can lie to me." Lily said and muttered a spell which started choking Crystal.
Crystal held her neck and gasped for breath. "Please, Lily... I mean, my Princess, don't do this." Crystal tried to break free but she couldn't.
"Are you going to talk or not?" Lily asked, still choking her.
Cassie was in the class waiting for Crystal when she felt a nudge. She stood up and her legs took her to the place where she witnessed Lily choking Crystal. So Lily is a witch... She gasped and ran there.
"Lily what are you doing?" Cassie asked, rushing to them but Lily cast same spell on her. Cassie held her neck.
"Lily! You shouldn't have cast a spell on her. You're making a big mistake!" Crystal warned.
Lily scoffed. "Like I believe you." She said and rolled her eyes, choking Cassie more.
Suddenly, the sky turned dark and Cassie freed herself from the spell. Flashes of lightning could been seen above and it looked like it was piercing the sky.
Cassie walked over to Lily, who had released Crystal out of shock.
"How dare you cast a spell on me?" Cassie asked with blazing eyes, while her hair flew in different directions. It had already turned completely red.
Lily gasped. "You're... you're... you're Harven and Roanna's daughter. I can see their mark in your eyes. How? I thought they didn't have a child." Lily said, moving back.
She tried casting a spell on Cassie but it backfired and thunder struck. Asher noticed the sudden change in weather and ran to his father.
    "Dad!"
"I know what's going on, Asher. You need to hurry before she hurts Lily." He said.
Asher ran to the backyard and saw Cassie raising Lily up in the air, using her powers. He saw her hair, eyes and the way lightning surrounded her.
"Tell me why I shouldn't roast you to bits right now." Cassie yelled.
"Cassie!" Asher called and she turned to look at him.
"Stay away from this, Asher." She yelled, looking very dangerous.
Crystal got scared and ran to Asher. "Asher, please stop her!" She begged.
Asher tried going through the lightning force so that he could hold her but he was knocked back.
"Cassie, please stop! Let us settle this." Asher said but she said nothing. He went over to her again but she had lost control of her powers. The lightning around her intensified while Lily winced in pain. It was as if she could feel life, squeezing out of her.
Cassie threw Lily on a tree, and Lily hissed in pain. Crystal ran over to where Lily was and held her up. The Queen isn't going to be happy about this.
"Cassie! Snap out of it!" Asher half yelled but Cassie wasn't ready to listen. She used her telekinesis to raise Lily up and threw her at the tree again. She was about to move forward when Asher's voice stopped her.
"If you continue like this, innocent people might get hurt," He said and the lightning force around her disappeared but her eyes were still blazing with fire. "Cassie, you have to snap out of it."
"I can't!" She replied in a panicked tone.
Asher ran and stood in front of her. "Okay, calm down. Breathe in and out." He said. She obeyed but it didn't work.
    "It's not working!" She yelled.
Asher put his hands on her shoulders. "Look at me!" He ordered and she looked him in the eyes. The fire in her eyes were burning his, making blood to come down from his eyes in the form of tears. He endured the pain and continued looking into her eyes successfully, hypnotizing her.
When he snapped his fingers, her eyes returned to normal and she was able to see what she did. She saw Lily bleeding from the head and Asher from the eyes.
"Am I responsible for this?" She asked, moving back and getting scared of her own self.
"It wasn't intentional." Asher answered, wiping his eyes with the handkerchief he brought out of his pocket and glaring at Lily who caused everything.
Cassie felt guilty. "Oh My Gosh! I'm a monster!" She yelled and ran from there in tears. Rain started falling.
Lily managed to get up and held Asher's shirt. "Why didn't you deal with her?" She asked.
"What do you mean?"Asher asked in a confused manner.
"You let her go scot free after what she did to us?" She snapped.
"It wasn't her fault, Lily. The girl is new to her powers, and doesn't know how to control it yet." Asher defended.
"Do I look like I care?" She blurted out.
"Lily, stop this nonsense! Besides, you looked for her trouble first. You're the cause of all these!" Asher said and walked away, looking for her.
Lily looked at her clothes. It was drenched both in blood and rain. "I can't go back to class looking like this." She said and held her head in pain.
"You can conjure up a spell, and return it to normal." Crystal suggested and Lily glared at her.
"That's what I was gonna do dummy!"
"You know what Lily, you need to learn some manners. I'm not your maid okay?" Crystal was fed up.
"Are you crazy or what? Am I the one you're talking to like that?"
"If you had not done what you did, this crisis would have been averted." Crystal said.
"Are you saying it's my fault?" Lily asked.
"Yes, it is. Your mother had a good plan to get that girl on our side, but you've ruined everything and showed her that you're a witch!" Crystal nagged.
"I wouldn't have done that if you had told me what my mother's plan was."
"But, you're aware that minor witches like me have no rights to reveal anything discussed with the queen. Do you want my head on a plate?"
Lily calmed down and exhaled. "So what do we do now?" She asked.
"We have to win her back to our side." Crystal said.
      Lily nodded.
The rain was still falling, so they went under a shade. It was good that the storm kept the students who were humans in the classroom if not, they would have all been exposed.

Asher finally found Cassie in a corner crying. "Cassie?" He called softly.
"Go away. I don't want to hurt you, please " She pleaded.
"You didn't hurt me." He said.
"Yes, I did. Look at your eyes." She looked up to see but there was nothing there. His eyes were back to those mesmerizing brown orbs.
"It healed." Asher said and she gasped.
"Are you a supernatural?" He nodded and she sniffed. "I don't understand, is every student in this school a magical being?" She asked.
"No, not all. We the supernaturals hid amongst them as humans so as to blend in." He said.
"Oh! I understand. I'm sorry for not being able to control my powers." She said.
"Don't worry, I'll teach you." He said.
"But, a girl promised to teach me too." Cassie said.
Asher twitched his brows. "Who?" He asked.
"She said that her name was Mia." She answered and Asher gasped.
      "Mia?" He asked.
     Cassie nodded. "Yes."
     "This isn't good." He muttered.
    "What happened?" She asked.
"Stay here, I'll be right back."
       "Okay."
He rushed to Mia's class and met her sitting down with her eyes closed. She opened them and smirked when she saw him.
"Looks like I beat you to it,. Asher." She chuckled.
"What do you want from her? You're a demon, and can't teach her." Asher said.
"Oh! Asher, you're so smart. I'm not gonna teach her anything. I'm going to do same thing your father wants to do, same thing Queen Lucinda wants to do too." Mia answered.
     "And what's that?" Asher asked.
"Winning her over to my side. That girl is the most powerful supernatural ever born, and whichever side she's on, determines who will rule the realm of pure magic." She laughed.
"You all want to use her for your selfish gains!" He snapped.
      "You're right." She laughed again.
"Mia, you're evil." Asher spat out in irritation.
"And you think your vampire dad is good? Oh please! I'm a demon, so I can't help but be evil," She cackled. "Anyways, thanks for the compliments." She stood up and left the class.
    Asher ruffled his hair.
   "Cassie, there is big trouble."
