His sharp eyes shot on mine. "Tone down your voice, we're in front of the blessings." I rolled my eyes and just continue chewing my foods. Front of the blessings pero nagchichismisan sila? Ayos din.
"I can see your eyes," he spoke. I gasped and make face while chopping the pork. Kainis.
"I can hear you." I tried my best not to roll my eyes. I put down my spoon and fork and hemmed.
"Fine. Whatever, but please, Mom, Dad. Let me remind you that we're just friends. I'm begging, don't make our future love lives become miserable because we don't like each other the way you think. If you're thinking about your business, work harder, don't force us to get married, don't use us to expand your money," I stated, looking directly into their eyes. “Okay? Please?”
“Time flies, maturity can wait, feelings can develop. Everything is on my hands,” I heard my father slowly whispered. Most of the times, I don't like the way he talks, it's too powerful and bossy. In every words he throw, he will make you feel that you are under his control, and I don't like to be a puppet since the very start, I just don't have a choice, yet.
On the other hand, Tim reacted. "Ouch! 'Di mo talaga ko love? Final na 'yan, sure na sure? Walang bawian?" He put his hand on his chest, feel na feel ang pagdra-drama. I punched his arm like what I used to do.
"Aw. Grabe ka naman. Sinaktan mo na nga ang puso ko, pati ba naman ang napakagwapo at matitipuno kong braso? Love naman." Napanganga na lang ako at napangiwi.
"What the hell?" Lakas naman ng loob niyang tawagin akong ganoon at bumanat sa harapan ko? Lakas tama.
I slightly slapped his face and I was shocked by his next words that he almost shouted, "Mommy, Daddy! She's abusing me!"
My brows crossed. "What the hell?!"
"Your mouth," saway sa 'kin ni daddy while glaring at me. Napangiwi ako, hindi ko alam kung pang-ilan na 'to pero, wala eh, hindi ko mapigilan. Ako pinagsabihan, yung sumigaw hindi? Kapag siya hinahayaan nila na magsalita ng ganiyan, ako kaunting ano lang pagsasabihan? Equality, nasaan? Tsk. Okay.
"May I ask Tim, who's Mary to you?" My mom's voice is getting serious, my heart beats harshly. I don't know why.
Napalunok ako at sinubukang mag-focus na lang sa kinakain ko. Siguraduhin niya lang na maayos ang lalabas sa bunganga niya dahil kung hindi, lagot siya sa 'kin kapag kami na lang. Makakatikim siya ng masarap-sarap.
"She's my best friend, but if she will give me a chance to court her and be my girlfriend someday, and if she say 'yes' when I propose in the future... then I'll be glad to be, what I would be," he seriously said.
My brows met. What the hell was that? "What are you saying? Are you out of your mind?" I reacted. Pinagsasabi nito? Gusto niya atang matuluyan sa hukay eh.
"Yeah, because you're occupying my mind that's why I can't think right," banat niya. Nacri-cringe ako everytime na bumabanat siya, sinong hindi? Ang corny grabe, ang sarap saktan.
I just rolled my eyes at pinilit na pakalmahin ang sarili. Kalma lang, Mary, best friend mo iyan, illegal ang pumatay. Be careful sa mga words dahil nandiyan ang mom and dad mo.
"Yieee OMG, OMG!"
"Mom?!" Tumutulong pa siya sa pang-aasar. Malala na nga si Tim eh, nakikisabay pa.
"Respect your mother," muling saway ni Dad with his strict tone. I slightly slapped my own cheek. Nakakaloka ang mga bagay-bagay.
"Daddy, I'm just... okay I'm sorry." Hindi naman ako mananalo kung makikipagbangayan ako 'di ba? Napailing-iling na lang ako habang nakangiwi.
Bumaling ako sa pinakanakakainis na taong nakilala ko. "Can you just stop making fun of me lalo na kapag nasa harap ako nila Dad at sa hapag, ako yung nayayari eh. Epal mo talaga. Isantabi mo 'yang mga kalokohan mo ah,” bulong ko kay Tim.
"In this table, we are all aware with the fact that I'm not making fun of you, your parents is not just joking about the two of us. They are just making it light, para ma-accept natin yung totoo ng dahan-dahan, ma-accept mo na wala tayong ibang choice sa huli kung hindi sundin ang gusto nila," he said, seriously and added, “Ako accepted ko na... that's why I already know what I'm saying, and I'm serious about everything, ikaw ba? Ikaw na lang ata ang hindi naka-iintindi sa bagay na 'to eh.”
I shook my head, nonstop. "Really?" I sarcastically asked.
"Yeah I'm serious of what I've said nga. If you'll let me, I'll marry you, Mary, and that's what everybody wants." His brown eyes are serious when it stops to mine.
Binalot ako ng kaba nang makipagtitigan siya sa 'kin, I'm not comfortable this time so ako na ang umiwas at pinagpatuloy na lang ang pagkain but he hold my hands under the table and pressed it through his. I don't want to stare but, it's undeniably perfectly fitted to each other. The only problem is, each fingers aren't comfortable to hold on.
"Siguraduhin mo munang tapos na ang research papers mo bago ka magsalita at kumilos ng ganiyan," I snapped and swayed my hand to loose from his touch.
I bit my lower lip, I don't get him. He's making me confused about everything. I don't get it... but I guess, he's just making fun of me. It's just a part of his show for me to erupt because it's his satisfaction.
“Ay hala! Bukas na nga pala yung deadline niyan?! Patay! Pakopya na lang, pakopya ng very very light lang naman. Ire-rephrase ko na lang. Thank you, I love you.”
Napangiwi ako. “Asa.”
“Wala na ba talaga akong pag-asa sa 'yo?” He pouted when I shook my head endlessly.
