Good morning passengers, this is your captain speaking. First, I would like to welcome everyone in Free Airlines, Flight SS394. The time is 9:35 AM. The weather looks good and with the tailwind on our side, we are expecting to land in Ninoy Aquino International Airport approximately eight hours ahead of schedule. I'll talk to you again before we reach our destination. Until then, seat back, relax and enjoy the rest of the flight.
Sa hindi mabilang na pagkakataon, nagbuntong hininga si Cindy.
"Kinakabahan ka pa rin?" Halos mapatalon siya sa gulat nang magsalita ang katabi niyang babae. Mula sa bawat detalye ng mukha nito ay hindi maitatanggi ang pagiging magkakambal nila.
Tumango lamang siya at hindi niya magawang magsalita.
"Hina mo naman, buti pa ako hindi," sambit pa muli ng babae.
Nilingon siya ni Cindy, ngunit hindi ito nag-abalang sumagot.
Maya-maya ay mapapansing hindi pa rin mapakali si Cindy. Suot ang mukhang hindi maitago ang matinding kaba, panay ang pagkiskis niya sa magkabilang palad.
"Dito ka na umupo," sambit ng isang kalmadong boses, si Lairah, ang ina ng kambal. Maputi ang kaniyang balat at may kaparehong hulma ng mukha kay Cindy. "And, Candice, dito ka sa tabi ng Papa mo.”
Napakapit nang mahigpit si Cindy sa kinauupuan niya at napapikit nang maramdamang unti-unti nang umaandar pataas ang eroplano. Si Candice naman ay nakapanood lamang sa kaniya, tinatawanan ang panginginig niya sa kaba. Nang magtagpo ang paningin nila ay ngumisi si Candice. Inirapan naman siya ni Cindy.
Ilang sandali pa at naging banayad na ang galaw ng eroplano at unti-unting naging komportable si Cindy.
Sandaling pananatili roon at naramdaman ni Candice na may nag-a-alburuto sa loob niya. Nakaramdam siya ng hilo at alam niyang kaunti na lamang ay lalabas na ang batch 2 ng mga noodles na kaniyang inalmusal. Kailangan niyang pumunta sa lavatory ng eroplano.
Nagpalinga-linga siyang ilang ulit ngunit ang lahat ay natutulog. Nang makita niya naman si Cindy ay bahagya siyang natawa nang mapansing tumutulo pa ang laway nito.
Ngumiti si Candice kasabay ng pag-ilaw ng isang bumbilya sa ulo niya. Lumapit siya kay Cindy at dahan-dahan binuksan ang talukap niya. Mas lalong natawa siya nang makita ang puting bahagi lamang ng mata nito.
Maya-maya pa'y natigilan si Candice sa pagtawa nang magmulat si Cindy. Pinanliitan sya nito ng mata.
"Ano ba?" Cindy asked, annoyance could be heard from her voice.
"Wala, gusto lang kita asarin.” Candice gave her a teasing smile.
"Papansin!" Cindy rolled her eyes.
"You look dreadful twinny.”
"Wala kang pakialam."
"Sinabi ko lang na pangit ka, tch."
"Talk to my hands. Matutulog na lang ako,” sabi ni Cindy at inilapit ang kamay sa mukha ni Candice.
Cindy was about to go back sleeping but Candice shook her arm again.
"Hoy!"
Cindy didn't bother looking at her. Napahawak si Candice sa bibig niya nang biglang gumalaw at maghikab ang ama niyang si Adam.
"Cindy!" tawag niya sabay kurot sa braso nito.
"Ano ba?!" Cindy asked more annoyed.
"Hehe…"
"Wala ka talagang kwenta."
"S-samahan mo ko sa lavatory,” nakangising sabi ni Candice.
"Sabi ko na nga ba may kailangan ka." Cindy sighed.
Kumurap nang maraming beses si Candice animo'y nagb-beautiful eyes.
"Mukha kang tutang gutom, ‘wag kang gumanyan.”
"Sus, magkamukha lang naman tayo,” buwelta ni Candice.
"Edi wow, mas maganda pa rin ako. Wala akong kulangot," Cindy said mocking her sister.
Kinapa ni Candice ang mukha niya at chineck kung mayro'n nga. Then it sinked inside her.
"Hoy! Nunal iyan! Iyo nga sa sa gilid ng mata. Yuck, parang muta. Bagong gising ka, Sis?" Candice smirked.
"Hindi—"
Candice laughed.
"Kita sasamahan,” Cindy continued and acted sleeping.
"Napakasama mo talaga. Samahan mo ako. Sige ka, matigas kanin mo mamaya."
Cindy didn't move. She then talked without opening her eyes.
"Manigas ka.”
"Bilis na!"
"Bakit ba?"
"Lavatory nga, eh, common sense. Alangan magluto ako ro'n," pilosopong sagot ni Candice.
"Wow, ikaw pa mataray, ha. Bahala ka.”
"Bilis na kasi. Oo na, ako na talo."
"Bakit? Lalabas na ba special lugaw mo?"
"Yuck, kadiri ka! Syempre hindi.”
Sandali pang nagtalo ang dalawa hanggang sa sinamahan din naman ni Cindy si Candice.
Sinubukan nilang hanapin ang lavatory ngunit hindi nila natagpuan kaya lumapit sila sa isang flight attendant.
"Miss, could you tell me—no, us. W-we—where," nauutal na tanong ni Candice.
Ngumiting awkward si Candice saka lumingon kay Cindy.
"Ano nga ba english ng—"
"Pardon? Sorry, I didn’t catch that. Could you please repeat it clearly? Here at flight SS394, we want you to have ease in everything. What did you want to know, may I ask?" she said in a very soothing calm voice.
Pilit na ngumiti si Candice. Si Cindy naman ay bumulong, “Ang daldal mo, Miss, p'wede ka na sa talk show.”
The flight attendant smiled.
"Hmm?" she uttered waiting for them to answer.
"Uh, the lavatory?" Candice said.
"Oh, you may find the lavatory there." She pointed a direction. "There are three doors, one's for the men, of course, the other one's for women, the next is for the PWD's."
Ngumiti si Candice.
"That is our main lavatory in this portion of the plane. But unfortunately, you may find yourselves stuck there for quite long time because as I had a glance on it earlier, many passengers are crowding, for it is the main one."
Candice sighed.
"Main? So, may hindi po main?" sambit ni Cindy at gulat na napalingon sa kaniya si Candice. "Uh, I mean, mayro'n pa pong iba ‘di ba?"
Ngumiti ang flight attendant.
"If you want an option, you may use the other one there,” paliwanag niya at itinuro ang isang direksyon.
"Hindi ba iyon ang likod ng plane?" tanong ni Candice.
"Sorry?"
"T-the—back, uh, backless?"
“Okay, thanks,” pakisali ni Cindy at mabilis na hinila si Candice palayo.
Natagpuan nila ang kanilang mga sarili na nakatayo sa labas ng lavatory. Pumasok na si Candice at naiwan sa labas si Cindy.
Out of boredom, nagsimulang maglakad-lakad si Cindy. Natigilan naman siya nang mapansing nasa kabilang dulo na siya at ito ay isang male's lavatory. Akmang pabalik na siya nang aksidenteng nabangga niya ang isang lalaki.
Nagtagpo ang paningin nila ngunit umiwas din agad ito at nilampasan siya.
"Sorry," nakayukong saad ni Cindy.
"It's fine," nanginginig na tugon ng lalaki. Hindi rin siya makatingin direkta sa mata ni Cindy.
Nagpatuloy na sa paglakad ang lalaki at naiwan namang nakatayo si Cindy.
"Hoy, gaga! Tara na.”
Nagising lamang ang diwa niya nang marinig si Candice.
In no time, Cindy and Candice were back on their seats. Candice was sleeping and Cindy couldn't stop herself thinking about the guy. She wandered around her sight and saw her Papa awake. Some people were looking at the window, some were reading and some were cuddling.
Ngunit natigilan ang lahat at nagkatinginan nang biglang umuga ang eroplano.
Ladies and gentlemen, we are experiencing turbulence. For your safety, please remain seated with your seatbelts securely fastened. Avoid standing or going to the lavatory at this time.
Nagkatinginan ang mga taong binalot ng kaba. Walang sampung minuto ay muling umuga ang eroplano.
The pilot then apologized.
Lumakas ang bulungan at nagsimulang mag-panic ang mga tao.
The plane then started shaking more and more. It seemed dropping. Everyone was shaking and some even stood up.
This is your pilot, Gregory Evans, ordering you all to fasten your seatbelts and hold tight. May we also request you all to keep calm. There's nothing to worry. Everything is under control. The pilot announced, slightly panicking and even mentioned his name.
Karamihan ay sumunod, humigpit ang hawak ni Cindy sa kamay ni Adam. Nagsimulang mamatay ang ilaw at mataranta ang mga tao.
Again, this is your pilot, requesting you all to keep calm thank you. The pilot announces with a little trace of more nervousness.
Cindy closed her eyes hardly while her hand holds her father's. Candice holds Lairah's too.
Ilang sandali pa at nagsimulang pumayapa ang eroplano. Bahagyang nakahinga ang mga tao.
This is the pilot of flight SS394, everything is now settled. There is nothing to worry anymore. May we all continue enjoying our flight. Thank you.
Some people smiled as they felt the relief.
Minutes passed. Cindy's still holding Adam's hand tightly. She's still into silent panics.
Natigilan siya at napasigaw nang umuga muli ang eroplano at namatay ang ilaw. Mas malakas na pag-uga ang naganap.
Lumakas pa lalo ang pag-alog at nagsimula na muling magsigawan ang mga tao.
The pilot had an announcement but he was obviously panicking.
"We're dropping," walang emosyong sambit ni Adam.
"Adam, stop. ‘Di ka nakakatulong,"
"I know, I'm just saying, there’s something different. Be prepared, Lairah and you two,"
"Y-you mean magc-crash ang plane?" nanginginig na tanong ni Cindy.
"Yes. The pilot can't handle it anymore. I know it.”
"Adam, I said stop.”
"Just be prepared,” Adam replied in a bit weird voice.
Just then, the plane shook and people started screaming. Some stood up and left their seat. The plane then started emitting black smoke that terrified the passengers. Other passengers ran to the emergency exit and crowded the pathway. Flight attendants tried to keep them calm but they weren't enough to stop them. Everyone was getting aggressive and pushed each other trying to get to the emergency exits.
Nuisance filled the plane.
The pilot announced and tried explaining but none listened.
People are getting wild. They were hitting each other. Everything was troubled. The fvcking plane is in complete chaos. The pilot couldn't even think properly and he couldn't handle the plane anymore.
The passengers panicked more and more. They didn't know what to do at all. They were jumping, screaming, crying, running and even hitting anyone they'd meet.
The plane started dropping faster. More smoke covered the plane and it suffocated them all. A passenger then desperately opened the emergency exit.
"We need parachutes!" someone shouted.
"Where are those?!" another one replied.
"Ma'am, Sir, please keep cal—" an attendant tried to stop them but she failed.
"No! We are all dying and you’re telling me to keep calm?!"
"The emergency parachutes will not be enough to save you all. Let us just—please, stay calm. We'll be able to do this if you'll stay calm.”
"No! This is insane! We need to jump!"
"Sir, if you'll be using the emergency parachutes, it might worsen the situation. People will also try to get them one and be aggressive.” The flight attendant pointed the passengers.
"Of course, I know, but this isn’t a great time to be a hero. I’m saving myself."
"Sir, I completely understand what you’re saying but please, trust us. We can do this if you’ll coordinate.”
"This is your pilot, keep calm everyone.” That caught everyone’s attention. “Unfortunately, we're facing a system malfunction. The plane's still under control and the staffs are doing their best, so there is nothing to worry about. We also called the nearest airport and informed them.”
The situation, however, still worsened. Flight attendants who tries to make the passengers calm were dragged. People were running, screaming all around. Everything was messed up. Sound of people crying blended with screams.
The plane was just a thousand feet above the ground and about to crash anytime soon. Some people decided to jump, others chose to stay while some couldn't even move at all. Then the emergency parachutes ran out of stock. Some had no choice but stay there, wait for their visible death.
With all the chaos around, the plane crashed and smashed a building. Large explosion almost destroyed the entire place. No one would ever actually believe that anyone will survive. The plane parts scattered everywhere. Dead bodies could be seen all around. Human body parts could be even seen anywhere. Anyone could hardly be seen surviving. Some will be found alive, run out of breath and then dies eventually. It wouldn't be overstating if you'll say you could see a human head rolling.
Cindy, with all her strength, crawled weakly the ten-meter distance to Candice. She spits blood and could hardly breathe. As Cindy reaches her, Candice forced a smile. With her last breath, a drop of tear fell from her eyes.
