𝐀𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡.
I was awaken by the noise created by my sister who's shouting every morning.
She's always like that. It was already 9:00 in the morning when I decided to fix myself may maagang duty ako sa hospital, and I need to go early dahil may new doctor daw na darating I need to welcome him. I heard some rumors na isang neuro surgeon ang darating galing daw ito sa state at nag decide dito sa pilipinas manggamot.
"Aga mong nagising Aarth?" my father asked me habang nainom ng kape.
"I need to go early to the hospital dad, we have new doctor." I muttered. I grabbed the bread and left the house.
I don't have time to eat with them.
Being a doctor is not easy. Buong buhay ko naka-alay para sa mga pasyente. I don't have time for love, but there's someone who gave me this feeling of having butterflies in my stomach. Too gay to say but yeah I feel this whenever I saw her.
Amaris.
"Oh geez! Stop running into my mind!" I said in frustrated tone.
Simula nang makilala ko si Amaris, she's always running on my mind. I don't think why am I being like this?
Nakarating ako sa hospital nang maaga, as always bumabati sa akin ang mga co-workers ko at ibang patient na kilala ako.
"Yo, Aarth!" bungad ni Ace sa akin suot ang white laboratory coat n'ya.
"Nandyan na?" tanong ko habang sinusuot ang white coat ko.
Habang nag-aayos ako dumating na ang panibagong Neuro Surgeon na sinasabi nila.
Naglakad ako papalapit sa kanya para batiin at iwelcome, he's really professional sa pustura pa lamang.
"Aarth Rigil Viglianco, one of Cardiologist here." I offer my hand to him.
"Sean Mikhail Hudson, new Neuro Surgeon, thanks for the warm welcome," he said in professional tone.
Iba pakiramdam ko sa isang ito. I don't know, but I something's with him.
"How's the new neuro surgeon?" Ace Asked.
I won't lie, I don't feel good about him it's like something's not right.
"There must be something with him," I muttered.
Hindi kona hinintay sumagot si Ace, umalis na ako sa lobby at pumunta ako sa office ko.
I grab my pen and start to analyze the papers. Habang binabasa ko lahat ng papers na hawak ko nakita ko ang pangalan ni Amaris.
I lied to her.
Hindi lang fatigue ang naranasan n'ya, wala parin akong clue kung ano ang sakit n'ya.
"Bakit nararamdaman ko sa'yo ito? Why am I so worried about you?" I said.
Dahil tapos na ko nang basahin ang mga nasa table ko nagrelax muna ako, I grab my guitar and started to strum.

Kahit sino pang babae ang mag 'Hi' sa akin iba parin ang tama kapag s'ya na ang kausap ko.
"Geez! What have you done to me?!" iritable kong ibinaba ang gitara ko at akmang lalabas na ako nang biglang may kumatok.
"Come in." I said.
"Doc, sorry to interrupt you-"
"What are you doing here Amaris?!" I was shocked nang malaman kong si Amaris pala ang kumatok at pumasok.
Hindi kaya narinig n'ya 'yon?
"I came here to confirm my situation,"
Dang it! What should I say to her? Na fake yung sinabi ko na fatigue ang dahilan or sasabihin ko nalang na wala parin findings about sa sakit n'ya.
“Tatapatin kita Amaris, wala pang findings siguro mag second test tayo para malaman talaga,” I suggest.
“Then give me schedule for my screening. I just want to know my situation.” Amaris said.
“Bumalik ka dito sa wednesday let's take another test,” I said to her.
Pinagmasdan ko si Amaris habang naka-upo sa harap ng desk ko, she's simply beautiful. Anyone would really like her.
“Doc, may dumi ba ako?”
Dang it! Why I am staring at her nahuli tuloy ako.
“Namamayat kana,” I lied.
Stop dreaming in front of her Aarth, she's only your patient. Nothing more, nothing less.
“Hala! Hindi nga?”
“Uhm yeah. . . Baka gusto mo mag lunch? Libre ko.” I offer to her. Mabilis naman itong pumayag dahil gutom na rin s‘ya.
“What do you want?” I asked her while facing the menu.
“Kung ano sa‘yo yun na lang din sa akin,”
“Ikaw gusto ko. . .” bulong ko hindi naman n‘ya maririnig.
“Ano doc? May sinasabi ka?”
Wtf?! Narinig n‘ya pa.
“Nothing, binabasa ko nasa menu.” I lied.
Sa buong linggo hindi ko alam bakit si Amaris nasa isip ko, anong ginawa niya sa akin bakit ganito?
After namin mag lunch lumabas na kami sa resto. I saw familiar face, nakita kong napayuko si Amaris sa taong nakita namin.
His Ex.
Pasimple kong inakbayan si Amaris at tinignan ang lalaking nanloko dito.
Naturingan Detective inspector babae naman pala ang iniimbistigahan na kaso. Hindi ako magdududa kung palaging sa bar ang iniinspeksyon nito.
“So totoo nga Amaris?” Hanz asked when he reached our place.
Walang pasintabi baka nandito ako?
“Ehem!” kunwaring ubo ko to caught his attention.
“Oh! Sorry nandiyan ka pala doc? Akala ko anino ka lang,” he laughed.
Anong problema nito? Gago ba ang isang ‘to?
“Stop pestering Amaris, she's mine now. Look we're on date and your interrupting our moment.” I muttered in serious tone.
Nakita kong hindi pumapalag si Amaris sa nangyayari and thats good. I'll teach this idiot a lesson.
“Walang sa iyo doc, ako nauna kay Amaris sa she's still mine,”
“Noon yes sa iyo siya, pero ngayon ako na ang mag-aalaga sa kan‘ya.” I looked at Amaris and smiled.
I meant it.
She deserve my care. I can be his doctor for life.
But for now hindi muna ako aamin.
I kinda admit this I like Amaris, I like the way she act, the way she carried her problem. I can see she's a fighter.
She's strong enough to stand on her own.
Para s‘yang isang bituin kahit gaanong kadilim ang buhay nagagawang magning-ning.
“So Excuse us, Mr. Hanz may date pa kami ng GIRLFRIEND ko,” mariin kong saad at nilagpasan namin si Hanz na naiwanan tulala.
“Why did you do that?” Amaris asked.
“I mean it. Nakakainis s‘ya, and I won't allowed him na gaganunin ka. Starting now let's be mutual,” I muttered.
I saw her WOW face.
I knew it magugulat s‘ya, I poke her forehead para tigilan n‘ya ang iyon.
“Thank you, siguro kung wala ka sinaktan na naman ako no'n,”
Teka wait? Sinaktan kaya ba may mga pasa s‘ya at namayat?
Dang it! Fvck that man!
“What the fvck! Did he hurt you?”
She nodded as answer.
My anger burst out nakapagmura ako nang wala sa oras.
“That man deserve to be in jail! Let's file a case, I'll talk to my sister she's a lawyer.”
Yes I have a sister s‘ya rin ang lawyer ng pamilya namin.
“Sino?”
“Ceridwen Viglianco, I am sure that she can win this case if you'll allow me to help you,” I explained to her.
However I know masakit kay Amaris ito pero kung hindi gagawin patuloy siyang tatakutin at sasaktan ng ex niya.
“Thank you, doc. I know patient mo lang ako pero biglang nag level up anghel ka ba?”
Silly.
I tap her shoulder before we separate our ways.
“Take care Amaris, thank you for your time.”
I waved my hand as I start the engine.
I know she's brave, but still she needs someone to protect her, and I am here to do the duty of being her protector.
