Chapter 5
"Okay, come on and I'll show you your room," Stephen changed their conversation.
"Sir, I'll wash them first," she replied. "I'll take care of that," Stephen noticed Kelly's tears so he led her towards the vacant room. "Don't call me Sir, I'm more comfortable with my name," he said as he held Kelly's arms. "Stephen, sorry I forgot," she replied as she slowly removed Stephen's hands. "This will be your room," he said as he stared steadily at Kelly. "Stephen, thank you so much for welcoming me into your home," she said as she removed her gaze from Stephen.
"There are women's clothes in the drawer, those are my sister's clothes so you can use that," Stephen suggested to her. "Thank you so much for your kindness," Kelly said as she smiled at Stephen. Kelly waited for Stephen to enter the other room before she locked the door. She sat on the soft bed and she noticed a large drawer so she thought of opening it and choosing a nightgown.
Stephen slept well so Kelly decided to get him breakfast ready, she fried an egg and made hot Bird's nest soup. She quickly laid the food on the table and thought of waking Stephen up to eat his breakfast. As Kelly lifted her head up the stairs, she saw Stephen coming down the stairs wearing a thin sleeveless.
"Kelly, you woke up too early," Stephen told her as he went down the stairs. "I've prepared breakfast for you so you won't be late for work," Kelly replied as she took a cup to brew Stephen hot coffee.
"Remember, you're a guest here so I would have done that for you," he said while sipping a spoonful of soup.
"Wow perfect! You got the flavor I wanted in this soup," he smiled at Kelly.
"This recipe is what I used to cook with my boss and it's a good thing you have the ingredients here so I cooked it for you," Kelly said while avoiding Stephen's gaze.
“My Auntie used to bring me this soup but it stopped when their helper left them,” Stephen said as he seemed to enjoy the soup served to him.
“Thanks for your nice comment,” Kelly said as she put fried rice on her plate.
“Because of your kindness today, I’ll buy you some delicious ice cream later,” Stephen said in his cheerful tone.
"Stephen, I've had enough of these foods so don't waste any more time or you'll be late for work," Kelly said worriedly.
"I'm not going to work today," Stephen replied as he took a table napkin and wiped his mouth. "I'm worried your boss might fire you," Kelly took a glass of cold water and handed it to Stephen.
Stephen laughed at what Kelly said to him.
"That's unlikely to happen because my Auntie is my boss," Stephen laughed mischievously.
"I'm sorry, Okay just relax and I'll take care of everything here," she stood up and cleaned the dining room. “Wait for me here because I just have something to buy outside,” Stephen said as he hurried out.
Kelly washed their dishes while waiting for Stephen to return. Fifteen minutes later she heard the sound of a doorbell so she immediately went to the door to open it.
"Maybe he forgot the door key," she whispered to herself as she ran towards the door.
She immediately opened the door and exposed to her the very beautiful woman with long shiny hair, wearing a white sleeveless top and short dark skirt. Looks classy and sophisticated and has a shapely body.
"What are you doing here at my boyfriend's house!" the woman's eyes glared at her.
Kelly was speechless because something seemed to be stuck in her throat.
"You bastard! Get out of here!" the woman slapped Kelly. "Miss, I'm an assistant here," she stammered. "Don't make excuses! You're probably a dirty woman!" the woman pulled her long hair.
"Miss, this is just a misunderstanding, please let go of my hair," she begged as she pulled her hair. "Don't take my boyfriend away from me!" she pushed Kelly away as she let go of her hair.
"Where's Stephen?" she growled.
The woman stepped forward and slammed the door.
"Stephen, get out of there and don't hide! Explain this to me!" she yelled as she continued to knock on the door.
Suddenly Stephen arrives.
"Lyca! What are you doing here!" Stephen roared. "What? You asked me what I did here? I'm the one who should ask you what you and your woman did here!" she screamed.
"Come in and don't make any noise here!" Stephen pulled his girlfriend inside the house.
Kelly quietly followed as she listened to the couple's argument.
"Why did you do this to me!" she blubbered as her hands slapped Stephen. "What are you saying! I don't understand you!" he ranted.
"Why are you hiding a woman in your house!" she mewled. "I have the right to do what I want because it's my house!" he yelled as he turned his back on his girlfriend.
"Why did you do this to me!" she sobbed. "Which is more painful huh! You betrayed me! It's clear in my eyes that you betrayed me with Archie!" Stephen scolded his girlfriend. "Archie and I have no relationship and you are the only one I love!" she wept. "Don't fool me because I've already ended our relationship!" he shouted at his girlfriend. "Is it because of that flirtatious woman that you decided to leave me?" Lyca exclaimed as she pointed at Kelly. "Kelly has nothing to do with this, our relationship ended long before she came here!" Stephen defended Kelly.
"Is that the kind of woman you're going to replace me with? Low class and uneducated?" Lyca gritted her teeth. "Don't compare Kelly to you because you're a user and you even used my weakness to hurt me!" he scoffed. "I love you and you know that!" Lyca groaned. "Do you want me to slap you with all the evidence I have! Those were the times you told me you had an important meeting somewhere else but Archie was with you on a private island!" Stephen growled.
Kelly saw that Stephen's eyes were red and she didn't quite expect her name to be involved in their argument.
