Chương 2 Queen of Gija

“Where the hell is she?” I pondered uncomfortably as I continued to inspect the school entrance with trepidation. Because it was now dismissal hour, cars and students were already leaving. But I won't be able to go until a relative of mine comes to speak with the principal about the recent incident.
Waynard High is a great school, but sometimes I just hate it when they become too nosey about a student’s life. I mean, it was an accident that I did not cause! Why would they need to see my sister!?
“You’re in very deep thought, Miss Stan. What happened?” I was so lost in thought that I let out a gasp when I came face to face with Leo, the president of the Student Council. Golden hair and golden eyes. The typical charismatic president who always comes out of his way to make sure that the students on the campus are living their best high school lives. “Do you need a ride back home?” He asked.
“N-No thanks,” I told him. It was the first time that he and I have ever spoken to each other this close. Frankly enough, I always try to avoid hanging out with popular kids because they always attract certain attention around them, which is kind of what’s happening at this moment. I just hope that no one sees this. “No thanks. I’m waiting for my sister. Thanks for the offer though.” I said while averting my gaze, hoping that he would get the hint and stay away.
I have no idea why he was meddling with my business right now, but I was relieved when he seemed to read my hint. “Alright, Miss Stan.” I heard him say. From my peripheral view, I saw him moving back. “Sorry for bothering you. Have a nice day.”
He just had to say those words and make me feel guilty, doesn’t he?
“You too.” When I looked at him, I saw him smiling at me before turning to leave. As I watch his back moving away, there was a nagging feeling inside of my chest that I couldn’t seem to understand.
His whole demeanor, the way that he carried himself, and his kind personality made me recall memories that I thought I buried a long time ago.
I was abducted when I was a child. And it was a black-haired kid with flaming eyes who kept me alive till I was rescued. He presented himself to me as Leo at first, but I realized it was a fake name that he gave me. I'm very sure he's the Prince who the soldiers talk about every night. Prince Kellar, the youngest and most pitiful of the three princes from the Kingdom of Tereau. An enemy Kingdom that was annihilated a few years back because of their tyrant King who targeted my sister and me.
Come to think of it, it’s been six years since he has gone missing and one year since I stopped looking for him.
“Fess up, who is that kid?” A sinister voice whispered in my ear that sent shivered at the back of my spine. I almost screamed out loud and nearly froze everything in place with my powers.
“Rose!” I hissed. Icy wind came out of my breath that was caused by my powers from my emotional stress. I immediately covered my mouth in hopes that none of the students saw it. “What...Don’t startle me like that!”
I gave my sister a pointed look and almost breathed out a sigh of relief when I saw that she still knows how to dress normally despite living her life as a Queen. She was wearing a soft white blouse with flowing sleeves, fitted, and slightly covering her high-waisted black jeans. She raised a brow at me as I continued to stare at her. “Stella, who was that guy? Are all the guys in this school that good-looking?” Her eyes started to follow the area where Leo was last seen. “Maybe I should leave Viex here to guard you.” She mumbled.
I let out an exasperated sigh. “Argh. Rose, now is not the time for you to become overprotective. Save that for your children and let’s just go.” I grabbed my sister’s hand and started to lead her into the school building before she thinks of putting a target at the back of the President of the student council. She’s always been too protective of me as a kid that - even during parties - I rarely hang out with other princes aside from two.
“Sorry about this, Rose. You must have been very busy.” I turn to my sister the moment we stopped in front of the principal’s office. “It would have been fine if aunt Elizabeth was here, but she’s currently on a vacation.”
My sister was pretty much occupied with her surroundings that she wasn’t even listening to me. I guess that she must have missed seeing this side of the realm that everything seemed to fascinate her.
I think I have already mentioned that my sister is a queen of another realm. Her name is Queen Rosalie Amber Feradin from the New Kingdom of Gija - the place where tamers reside. From the name itself, my sister has animal spirits who protect her. Usually, I see them following her all the time, but since her familiars are a fox and a wolf, she couldn’t bring them along in this realm.
“Hmm?” My sister tilted her head to my side before she brought back her attention to me once more. “Sorry, I got distracted with the school’s interior. It has been a while since I entered one. What were you saying?”
I shook my head with a smile on my face. Even as a queen, my sister never changed. But I was glad that she was somehow enjoying herself for a bit even though I troubled her to come here.
“I was asking you if you were busy since it took you a while to come here,” I repeated.
My sister blinked and momentarily spaced out for a bit. “Oh no. I wasn’t busy at all. Ace handled everything perfectly to the point that I got here earlier than I expected. I just dropped by somewhere to get a few things. But I did not expect that it would take much time.”
“Where did you go?” Somehow I was getting a bad vibe out of this as I watched my sister suspiciously looking around us like she was doing something illegal. Then, the moment when we were alone, she grabbed her large purse that was dangling from her shoulder this whole time and opened it. I gasped as I saw a few hundred-dollar bills dropped on the floor because of how full her bag was with cash.
“I pawned a small gem from our realm. Ace says that it was fine and that I should have some small pocket money in case we needed it. Isn’t it amazing?” By the looks of it, she seemed proud. Her eyes and her smile glowed brightly as she almost shoved the bills to my face. “I have never held this much money before. Even when we were living here.”
“Rose, cut that out!” I hissed and immediately grabbed the money on the floor and shoved it into her oversized purse before I closed it to avoid more money from spilling out. “Why do you have this much money!? What are you even going to buy!?”
“Their silence in case they saw SOMETHING that they shouldn’t have.” She says in a deadpanned tone. What she was referring to was obviously my magic, which shouldn’t be seen by the mortal eyes. “If not,” My sister continued, “I always have the potion that makes people forget. But I would rather not use magic if I am being honest with you.”
I looked at her incredulously to make sure that I was looking at the Queen of Gija. But then again, I remembered that she is also my sister, who never really thinks rationally. I sighed and buried my face into my hands tiredly and groaned. “Rose, can...can we just go inside and see how things work out first? In a NORMAL way?” There was a hint of a plea in my voice because I really just want to get this day over with. And because I also have another class in the other world that I was already running late!
My sister nodded her head and grinned like there was nothing to be afraid of in the first place. “Don’t worry, Stella. Leave everything to your big sister.” She says proudly and started marching into the principal’s office after knocking. But before she entered, she first turned to me and gestured for me to follow. “Stella, what are you standing around for? Come on!” She beamed widely before she headed inside.
I sighed and began to follow her nervously - I even had to drag my feet just to make myself move. If my etiquette teacher sees me now, I bet that she would throw a fit and have me balance five books over my head and punishment. I was already praying that things would work out smoothly and normally as we entered the principal’s office.
Please, Rose. PLEASE! For the love of this school, don’t do anything that would embarrass us!
