HUSSEY began to hop on her motorcycle. She offered her hand to him. “Hop on, Sky.”
“Why are you wasting your time on me?” he queried as he got on her motorcycle.
When he was secured at her back she began to turn on the engine. “First off, you’re not a waste of time. Second, I like you ever since I first met you. Hold onto me.”
He didn’t create any kind of noises, he was stock-still behind her after she just admitted she liked him. Maybe she just like me as a friend…
“We’re not going anywhere if you won’t hold onto me.”
“U-Uhm . . . uhh, w-where should I-I—”
She looked over her shoulder to see him at the corner of her eyes. She brought her hand to him. “Give me your hand.”
Placing his hand on top of hers, Hussey intertwined their hands and placed it to her waist.
Hussey drove with her one hand only, she trapped Aeschylus’ hand in her palm so he won’t have a chance to remove his hand.
Meanwhile Aeschylus wasn’t breathing behind her, sure, she would make a way to have contact with him but it never failed to make him off guard.
The young girl wanted to take him to their café but she figured her twin will bother and tease them so she decided to drove to the plaza so they can chill near the fountain.
Once they got there, she began to tie the hem of her oversized shirt into a knot so she can at least look presentable.
Though, the young man hid his face out of her direction. Face was flushed scarlet when she started to tie her long natural curls into bun.
Just the sight of her nape made his cheeks blushed.
“Hey, let’s sit over the bench! Someone might get ahead of us.”
Then she dragged him towards the bench that no one was occupying, just perfect to view the fountain.
Awkward silence wrapped around them, Hussey was itching to open her mouth but she at least wanted Aeschylus to initiate the conversation so she waited which she thankfully did.
“So, uhm… Can I ask why you’re there again?” He averted his eyes from her side. “It just left me wondering what you’re doing there.”
Hussey looked at the side of his head, I guess I should lie a little…
“I-I saw the glimpse of you in the theatre… I thought it’s you so I followed you and turns out I’m right… Yeah, that’s right,” she cussed and pinched herself secretly when she stumbled her words.
Though, the former doesn’t know if he should believe her or not because the way she sounded wasn’t convincing at all.
“Thank you for saving me there again, aren’t you getting tired?”
Awe transformed her face. “Tired of what? Tired of beating them up? Of course not! They deserve it and it’s not like I’ll ever get tired. I just wanna be there for you but seriously…”
She hugged both of his hands inside of her palms. “You need to start fighting for yourself, don’t let yourself lose to them.”
His face was facing her but his eyes went down to their hands. He hated to admit it but, “I’m weak, even if I fight them I’ll end up getting beat up…”
Rubbing his hand to console him, she spoke, “I want you to be stronger, but as of now, let me protect you. Once I’ve made some time I’ll help you defend yourself in times like that, is that good?” she asked.
The young man’s eyes travelled in her orbs.
“Y-You would really do that?”
“Yes! So I can get to be with you more!”
Hussey giggled when the latter brought his head low to hide his reddened features, he thought he could hide with his side part bangs but it didn’t help really.
“So!” she began. Trying to lift up the mood. “I’m guessing you’re watching a horror movie there, didn’t know you like some things like that!”
Aeschylus doesn’t know what to say, earlier, he can sense her not so genuine reasoning so he doesn’t know if she was really wanting to bring up the movie or just trying to sound interested.
“Though, I didn’t finish the movie of that show. I read the manga instead because they changed the entire plot of the season two! It’s frustrating.”
Well, that caught his attention.
“Y-Yeah, I heard people saying it sucks and I didn’t believe them at first since I haven’t seen the movie but you’re right. It’s not that great when season two started.”
Hussey nodded her head attentively. “I know right! The potential if they just didn’t change the plot! Have you read the manga?”
“Only the animated parts and the live action, I never reached the end of it because I want to see the animated first.”
She clapped her hands, a bit disappointed. “You should have read it, well, I understand you want the anime than the manga but I really recommend you to read it! It’s way better than the new plot.”
The corner of his mouth turned up into a smile, he’s starting to like their conversation. She was really enthusiastic while telling him about the show.
Now, he felt bad thinking differently of her earlier.
He thought she was just trying to understand his interest of the show. “I would like to follow your recommendation then.” He nodded his head that made her eyes sparkled.
“Good! I can lend you the volumes! If you like we can go to our house before I drop you to your home,” she suggested.
Surprise expression overtook his face. “You have the book physically?”
“Yes! I used my savings just to complete all of the volumes! You should see it!”
Couldn’t help it anymore, he wore a wide smile at her.
She quickly looked away, waving her hand to him. “Stop! You don’t know how adorable you look!”
He was taken aback by her sudden fluttering praise.
“Y-You find me… Adorable?” Is this woman being real with me?
Hussey peeked at him through her curly locks. Still, feeling her cheeks burning up.
“Yes! And my heart may not contain it!”
Aeschylus gaped at her, an amused mixed with doubt was written on his face while she wasn’t looking.
Still not turning her gazes on him she slowly heard him cackled at her that made her look at him with creased forehead.
“You don’t believe it, don’t you?” Her brows rose.
Shaking his head, he began to sniggered that made the young lady stare at him in amusement.
“I was saying the truth! Don’t make fun of my compliments for you, you don’t know how you look while you move your lips to talk to me, the way your bangs dance with the wind, and most importantly when you answer me with a hum using your gentle voice! You don’t know that!” she snapped out.
A flush crept up his face, he stopped laughing.
“Now you’re not talking? It’s true! I don’t know why you don’t believe it but you’re damn fine, you failed to notice!” Hussey gestured his figure.
He opened his lips to talk. “I didn’t know someone like you would notice how my lips move, my bangs dance with the wind, and how I sound when I hum…”
Her ears flared up. “And why you sounded like it’s a bad thing?” she gripped her chest. “Am I being weird?” she asked shakily, a bit embarrassed.
“No!” He cleared his throat after he realized he just raised his voice. “People in school just… doesn’t like me at all, like I’m carrying a disgusting disease when I’m near them…”
She leaned her face to him, almost stopped breathing because he could feel her curled locks and breath fanning his skin. “W-What?”
“Do you want them to like you?”
“It’s not like that, I just wish they treat me like a human…”
Hussey’s features softened as she slid her fingers on his jaw that he soon melted to.
“Too bad for them, they’re definitely missing out but hey, I’m here. Does that at least make up for it?”
Smiling a little, he nodded. “Most definitely.”
