Now, nasa labas kami ng volleyball court dahil may game ang boys kasama ang Delta. Inaayos nila ang jersey, shoes and the towels they’ll bring. Hindi namin sila masasamhan the whole game dahil after 30 minutes kami naman ang may laro.
“Tara?” Aya samin ni Aldo kaya pumasok na kami lahat sa gym. I can already hear the squeal from the fans of these boys.
Umakyat kami sa 2nd floor where we can see them in a closer but top view. We saw them place their things on the bench. All of the boys looked up at kumaway naman sila Claud.
Umupo naman kaagad si Fabian, Earl at Brice sa bench. We shouted their names habang nakikipag kamayan si Keith sa kabilang team.
The referee whistled at sinabayan namin ng mga nakakapunit na tenga na tili. Of course we’re here to cheer them on. Dapat lang mag ingay kami.
Aldo tossed the ball in the air and served it. The opponent receives it but the ball is not stable. Pinalo iyon ng right spiker nila but Ivo received it. Graig tossed the ball and Ayer jumped to spike it.
“Unang puntos para kay Zalora!” Sigaw ng commentator nang hindi ito masalo ng kalaban.
“Wooo! Ayer yan!” Blanca screamed at the top of her lungs.
The game continued at nagging dikit ang laban. Nagulat ako nang tumalon si Keith at mahinang pinalo ang bola, a feint!
“Medjo bad boy play by Aliston!” Sigaw ng commentator.
Natawa pa kami dahil estudyante ata ang nag cocomment dahil pati siya ay natawa sa sinabi niya.
“Go Echo!” I shouted. That’s all I can do.
“Aiby.” Tawag sakin ni Ely.
Nilingon ko siya. “Bakit?”
“May plastic bottled ba tayo?” Tanong niya.
Natawa naman sa kanya sila Deborah. “Bakit? Ano gagawin mo sa bote? Ichecheer mo si Claud, noh?” Asar sa kanya ni Deborah.
Ely Rolled her eyes. “Ibabato ko sa kanya.”
Natawa naman kami lalo dahil sa sinabi niya. Sadly, pare parehas kaming walang dalang plastic bottles.
Tinuloy namin ang pag palakpak.
“Nice receive Claud!” Sigaw ko ng masalo ni Claud ang mabilis na spike ng kalaban.
“Go Ivoo.” Iris screamed.
“Galingan mo pa Ayer.” Tawa ni Blanca kay Ayer.
“Go Fabian!!” Malakas na sigaw ni Asra. Tinignan naman kami ng masama ni Fabian na nakaupo sa bench.
Nag tawanan naman kaming andito sa taas at sinisigaw lang ang pangalan nila. The first round ended at kami ang panalo.
Nasa bench na sila at nagpupunas sila ng pawis. They lifted their heads and shouted some words to cheer us for our game. We turned our backs and walked towards the exit.
We entered the second volleyball court and Delta daw ang makakalaban namin. We stretched our body sa bench namin. The referee whistled as a sign that we will start. The girls insisted na ako na ang makipag kamay sa kabilang team and that’s what I did.
Our opponent will serve kaya lahat kami ay naka bend waiting for the ball. Papunta kay Ella ang mabilis na bola and she received it well.
“Nice receive Ella.” Sigaw nila Blanca, Rave at Iris sa bench.
“Ako na!” Sigaw ni Asra and set the ball. Twilla jumped and spiked it.
Our opponent receive it at pabalik na samin ang bola. Ely received it at si Twilla uli ang pumalo.
“First point for Aphelion!” The commentator shouted. I shook my head because of the screams I heard.
I tossed the ball, made a low jump and served the ball.
“Nice serve Aiby!” Sigaw ng tatlo sa bench.
Si Ella ang libero that’s why every time that Ella will be positioned in the front, si Rave ang pumapalit. And every time na nasa loob ng court si Rave, times 2 ang hiyawan.
“Palo, Rave.” Sigaw ni Asra kay Rave.
Rave took a step and jumped to spike the ball. Our opponent didn’t have the chance to position themselves.
“Another one point for Miss Drew.” Sigaw ng commentator.
Humarap si Rave sa audience at nag flying kiss. An ear shattering scream exploded.
“Damn, hanggang school pala lakas ng kamandag ko.” She chuckled.
Napangiwi naman kami sa sinabi niya.
The game continued at hindi ko ineexpect na kami ang mananalo for the first set. We all gave each other a high five and rested on our bench.
Iris assisted us by giving us the water we needed. Inaasar asar pa namin siya na sa susunod na namin siya swesweldohan.
The second set started at hindi ko na gusto ang tinatakbo nito. I looked at the scoreboard and saw our score. 11 for Echo and 15 for Delta.
“Kaya yan! Hampasin niyo! Itodo niyo! Kabogin niyo!” Rave, Ely and Iris shouted. Kanina pa nila sinisigaw yan, baka isipin nila yan ang cheer namin.
Ella received the ball and Asra tossed it for me. I took a step, jumped as high as I could and hit the ball with all my might.
“2 points for the beauty. 1 point for the spike by Flammia!” Sigaw ng commentator.
I land on the floor and keep panting heavily. My jersey is sticking on my body because of my sweat.
I looked at them and pouted. “Pagod na ako.”
Tumawa naman sila at sinigawan si Iris. “Iris, pasok! Pagod na si Aiby.”
Agad na sumama ang mukha ni Iris. “Ayaw! Ayaw.” Tanggi niya samin kaya nag tawanan kami lalo.
We lost another point at kalaban na namin ang mag seserve. Sa totoo lang, I am still nervous even though it’s already the second round. Pinalo iyon ng kalaban namin at hindi namin ito nasalo.
We took a break at pinahinga ang mga sarili sa bench. While we’re wiping our sweat, the girls are chanting their ridiculous cheer.
Muntik ko na maibuga ang tubig na iniinom ko when I heard the cheer from the audience.
“Kaya yan! Hampasin niyo! Itodo niyo! Kabogin niyo!”
We all looked up and saw the boys cheering for us. Sabay sabay naman kaming natawa nang malaman na sila yun. I could hear them shouting our names at naghahampas ng bote. It looks like they immediately ran here after their game.
“Panalo kami, dapat kayo rin ah!” Sigaw ni Claud.
“Sus, basa mukha mo ah? Sabihin mo umiyak ka kasi talo.” Pang aasar sa kanya ni Deborah and she even stuck her tongue out.
Hinampas naman ni Ely si Deborah. “Wag mo na asarin baka umiyak pa.” Nag tawanan naman kami.
“Go girls! Go mamsh Aiby!” Sigaw ni Ayer habang naglalakad kami papunta sa position namin.
The game started and we were doing better. No more errors at nakakapuntos na. We tried to smile more dahil kinukulit kami ng boys na lagi daw kami naka busangot.
Server na ng kalaban, it’s the server na naka 3 points straight samin.
“Kaya yan! Hampasin niyo! Itodo niyo! Kabogin niyo!”
I heard that damn cheer once again. I chuckled before looking up. Nagulat ako sa mga pwesto nila.
The idiotic Ayer, Claud, Ivo and Earl are shouting. Graig and Fabian naman ang nag papatunog ng mga bote. Aldo and Keith are leaning in the railings with both arms at seryosong nakatingin samin. Si Brice naman ay naka crossed arms na nasa tabi ng apat.
I gulped. It looks like it’s not a time to slack off.. I need to take this seriously.
I bent and waited for the ball to be served. Malapit iyon sa linya but I still managed to receive it for my team.
“Asra!” Sigaw ko and she positioned to toss it to Deborah.
Deborah is on our left wing ready to score.
“Isang puntos para kay Miss Gushiken!” Sigaw ng commentator. Rinig na rinig ko na naman ang pagtawag ng mga boys sa pangalan namin.
It is our match point at kami ang mag se-serve. Sadly, nakuha nila ang point. We’re waiting for the ball nang marinig ang boses ng kaklase namin sa mic.
“Ehem ehem.” Claud faked a cough na rinig sa buong court.
“Kaya yan! Hampasin niyo! Itodo niyo! Kabogin niyo!” Sabay nilang sigaw ni Ayer sa microphone.
Napailing na lang ako at natawa. I don’t know if I should give them a lesson later or thank them.
Though, thanks for their constant cheers nanalo kami. We won the female and male volleyball.
