I glared at the obvious cocky smirk on Zyan's face. I rolled my eyes at him and the brute even has the audacity to chuckle.
"I am so sorry for not realizing it earlier. I'll make sure to shower her all the flowers and butterflies she deserves."
Everyone smiled sweetly and nodded at what the he said. And yet, here I am seething with anger as he played with me right in front of my family.
"I'll take a break from work for two months. I should give her my time and attention." He added.
Now, my mother and grandmother were all "awes" at him.
"My daughter is really lucky to have you Zyan." Mom even said.
I cleared my throat and stood up.
"Uhm, I think me and Zyan should talk more about this. It's also not right if he's stopped working for two months. If you'll excuse us. "
I gave them a small smile and gestured for Zyan to follow me to the study.
"I didn't know you wanted to marry me that bad. What's the rush, hon?"
His answer to my sarcasm was a sarcastic smile of his own. He licked his lips and stared at me devilishly. He knows he can play this game even with just his simple, sexy stare and I hated him for that.
"Don't get excited. If not for your successful empire, I would never even consider sparing you a glance."
I turned red with embarrassment. I want to break the flower vase on his face to wipe that stupid, smug look on him. I stepped closer to him with pure murder on my eyes.
"Well, in case you haven't heard, even with your own thriving company, I couldn't even think of you as a man deserving to be my husband. So please, just shove those two months dating idea down your undeserving, unattractive ass!"
He wasn't fazed even by a fraction. I was fuming mad and trying to control my breathing with my chest rising up and down rapidly. He chuckled looking so amused.
I swear, I could have just punch him in the face right then and there or better yet I could have kicked his balls and make them damage goods for sure. But the spark of controlled anger on his eyes gave me satisfaction. He clenched his jaw several times as he stared straight at me like he's trying to gauge my weakness. I smirked like I just won a war.
And that's when he chooses to tipped me over and change the game so easily. He grabbed my nape and kissed me. Hard. His other hand snaked over my waist, pulling me closer to him and preventing me from getting out of his grasp.
To my utter shock, he yanked my hair down, causing my lips to part as I gasp and he kissed me harder this time. I didn't even notice how it happened but I was holding on to him like he is my damn life saver.
I was breathing so heavily when he let go of my lips. I hated the fact that we were staring at each other with both flames of anger and passion so I forced myself to snapped out of it.
"Too much for someone who doesn't want to spare me a single glance." I mocked him with a hoarse, almost breathless voice.
He clenched his jaw, licked his lips and gave me his all-knowing smirk like he knew I am so affected with his damn kiss. And then the next second, I was bewildered when he suddenly brought out a ring from his pocket, grabbed my hand and slid the ring inside my finger that I didn't even have the time to protest or pull my hand away.
"I am just simply showing you the proper way to kiss. So, the next time you go around kissing boys, you won't embarrass yourself."
He kissed me softly on my forehead and then right then, he walked out of the room leaving me confused and lost once more.
One sentence to describe Zyan Zander Elizaga? I actually only need one word that starts with A and ends with E. Asshole.
But with one sentence? "A bunch of contradictions." He wouldn't spare me a glance if I am not a Candelanza but then he kisses me like he can't live if he doesn't and then put a ring on my finger making everything official.
Although he didn't drop down on bended knees. My family was gushing with awes and hearts on their eyes thinking he did that. And he enjoyed all of it as he played along like a freaking actor who had won an Oscar.
And me? I couldn't stop staring at my finger like it's the first time I've ever seen a diamond ring all my life.
