"Keep running!" 5D Emerald class leader stands in the middle of the basketball court, holding a stopwatch to measure the time. He watched his friends run around the court then walk over to Mabella who was sitting on the players ’bench.
The atmosphere between them were quiet when neither of them want to start a talk. Adam just sits there calmly, does not want to disturb Mabella who was reading a book.
Mabella is a top student, so of course she doesn’t care much about sports. While everyone else prefers sports than learning, Mabella, on the other hand, likes to learn than doing sports. She does have a strange character.
"When do you plan to stop the kids from running?" Mabella finally started the conversation after two minutes of silence. She closed the book that she had read and placed next to it. She changed her sitting position to where it had been, her feet on the floor now lifted onto a bench. She hugged both her legs as her chin was placed on her knees.
Adam sniggers. The kids? They are all the same age, so why is Mabella acts like she an older person? Or did Mabella deliberately look down on them?
Adam was silent, not replying instead busy watching the stopwatch in his hand. He started to lower his hands and started shouting, “Take a rest, guys!"
All of the 5D Emerald students stopped running. They wiped their own sweat with a towel and started sipping mineral water, then relaxing on the player bench that was opposite Mabella and Adam.
"Haa, I'm tired." Adam rested his head on Mabella's shoulder, while closing his eyes.
"You are not even running so what are you tired about? Or did you work yesterday?"
"Yeah, I got work yesterday, my mom asked me to be a model for her new design suit. She is very picky, you know. Whatever pose I do, she doesn’t want to accept it though she is the one who asked me to be her model.”
Mabella chuckled a little at Adam's grumbling. She was very familiar with Adam's mother's temperament, so what could they do? Just follow the parents' words.
“Hah.. I miss your mom. It’s been a long time we had spend time together.”
“Right? My mom also keeps saying the same thing. She misses you and your mother too. She said, if she happened to have free time, she will bring us on vacation and as always, she will drag you to go shopping with her since when it comes to shopping, you are the best."
“Hahaha. That really sounds like your mom.” Mabella can imagine it on how Adams mother's face when voicing her dissatisfaction. Pity for Adams' parents, always busy with work even though her family is also more or less the same.
“Oh, Adam! Someone’s coming!” One of their classmates call out Adam loudly from afar. Beside that guy, there was a woman who stood, waiting for Adam come toward her.
"Seems like the teacher call for me."
"Yeah, you should go and meet her. After all, you're the most best class leader than other classes."
“Euw, cheesy.” Adam shook his head before got up from his seat, approached the teacher who had called him earlier.
"Yes, Madam Nina? Is there anything that I can help you?" Adam asked politely. He drew a sweet smile to the teacher, making the teacher melt. Any girl who saw his smile, they must have been captivated by Adam too.
Mabella looked at Adam from afar. My, how can such a man be so fake?
"Dear, such a gentleman you are. I'm sorry to bother you, Adam. Right now, I have a class that I need to teach but I also have an unavoidable appointment so can I leave my students with you? I trust that you can take a good care of my students."
"Sure, madam. How can I even dare to refuse a request from the beautiful lady?"
“You flatter me, boy!” Madam Nina giggle. It's too bad that this guy is not in her class.
As soon as Madam Nina leaves the basketball court, Adam stop from smiling. He let out a long loud breath as well as he showed a disgust face, "Really? Am I a babysitter or something?"
Mabella patted Adam on the shoulder. "Come on, don't show that scary face. You’re already ugly, if you keep doing that face than you’re extra ugly."
Adam flinched a little. He pulled Mabella's ear like a mother scolding her daughter as he was startled by the presence of Mabella by his side. "Since when have you been here? Can't you just make a footstep sound when you walk?"
"Aw, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to surprise you." Mabella tried to free Adam's hand from pulling at her ear. Mabella face really looks shining when she laughed, showing her teeth.
“Don’t do that again, I almost got a heart attack.”
“Why? Oh, you afraid if your little act gets discovered by anyone else? Then, don’t act like you are so sweet in the first place. You are not even that nice anyway.”
“Please, you are not the one to talk to me about this.” Adam squeezed both sides of Mabella's cheek. Mabella didn't dodge, she laughed while holding Adam's hand.
But, without Adam and Mabella realize, their little sweet action was seen by a group of friends.
"I don't know that she can talk with anyone else very well. I just think that she was a quiet and shy person." Marcos spoke with both his hands tucked in his pockets.
Aiden agreed with Marcos' words, but he chose to remain silent. He actually quite enjoyed seeing Mabella's laughed.
"Hey, Mabel!" Emma walk closer to Mabella.
Adam stops teasing Mabella when he saw Emma. He lifted his left eyebrow and then ask, "you know her?"
"Nah, not really, but let's just pretend that I am."
"Oh, ermm, hi Emma!" Mabella waved her hand at Emma hesititanly. She then has a friendly conversation with Emma.
While Adam just stood there and observed every move of Mabella. 'So now, she up to something?'
