"Sweetie, are you sure you can handle yourself alone?" Mom asked in worry while helping me packing my things
"Mom, I'm old enough, of course I can handle myself. Trust me." I reassured her.
For passing the entrance examination there is a contract. I should be staying in the school for two years until graduation because the Geniuses Academy was a board school and all students should be available anytime needed.
Everything is free and provided by the school or should I say, government.
"I'm your mom Kelly and I can't help but worry for your safety." She stated with watery eyes.
"I know mom and I thank you for that. But don't worry, okay, I will be safe. You know me right?" I said softly. She nodded and hugged me.
For all people, mom knows me very well, she is the best mom I ever had, my best friend and I am so lucky to have her because she accepted me for who I am… she supported me in everything I do.
Suddenly, someone knocked on the door. "I'll go open it mom, stop being emo." I smiled playfully and she smiled rolling her eyes on me.
Laughing, I shook my head, oh mom, I will miss you so much.
I opened the door and it revealed Stella but curiosity covered me when I saw her face seemed bothered. I knew she passed the exam but "What's wrong?" I asked.
"Ahm, did you get the result?" She asked nervously, my forehead furrowed but I nodded.
I want to touch her to see a glimpse of her result if there are changes from what I saw before, but I don’t want to just do that. I respect Stella and her privacy. I will just wait for her to tell me the result of her exam. "How is it?"
"Come in first and I will tell you." She went inside before I closed the door.
"I passed the Genius Course." I suddenly stated which made her face light up.
"Wow! Congratulations Kelly! I'm so happy for you!" She exclaimed happily.
"But, it seems like something is bothering you. What happened?" I asked, I’m sure with the special powers she has, she will pass the exam whether I have already saw it or not, but I don’t know what keeps on bothering her.
"Ahm," She played with her hair, not knowing what to say.
She looked around and after that she started dragging me towards my room. Well as you see, she always makes herself at home every time she gets here. It seems like a long year for us that we were both comfortable with each other including mom, she considers Stella as her child with the bond they have.
Stella then closed my door and said,
"I passed the entrance exam!" She blurted out happily but turned sad all of a sudden. With all the time I spent with her, I discovered that Stella is kind of... bipolar. She immediately changes her mood.
"But belong to the... Special Course." She continued.
"Why make that face then?" I asked curiously. “You should be glad, we will see each other at the same school.” I said and smiled but she still seems bothered.
"It's because the Special Course is composed of students having-" I cut her off.
"Special powers." I continued what she wanted to say.
Her face lit up, "Exactly! Kelly... you're my friend and I'm sorry I didn't tell you about it." She looked down.
"It's okay Stella, I understand. Everyone kept secrets that no one else knew..." I bit my lip, "Even I. I'm your friend but it's not your obligation to tell me everything about you. We all have rights for our privacy and sometimes you have to be selfish too, you know-" She suddenly hugged me which made me stop from talking.
"I'm so glad to meet a friend like you." She softly stated.
"I'm also glad we met." She pulled out and smiled.
"Now, it's time for you to know about it." She smiled widely and slowly pulled the white glove off of her right hand. "Are you ready?" She asked when it was completely taken off.
"Are you sure it's okay for you?" I ensured, with concern.
"Of course! We're friends and I trusted you Kelly." She answered.
"Then, I'm ready." I said, smiling excitedly.
She walked towards my study table and held the vase with flowers inside it using her right hand. My eyes widened when the vase suddenly turned into ice, including the flowers. It's too pretty! I'm not shocked at what she can do, but I am amused with what she has created... a masterpiece!
"It's so beautiful!" I exclaimed looking at her creation, the vase including the flowers turns out to be lovely in ice. I can’t take my eyes away from it, it is just so beautiful.
"Thank you!" Stella clapped her hands and put her glove back.
"Your power is so special, Stella. Cherish it." I smiled at her.
"I will." Behind her smiles, I can see the sadness between her eyes. She must have experienced so many bad situations because of her power, but on the other hand, she can save herself with her power against bad people.
"Are you ready for school?" I asked.
Her face lit up "Ready!"

Stella and I gasped looking at the big gate in front of us.
"So, this is it?" Stella asked.
"This is, is it, is it!" I answered playfully which made us both laugh.
We are standing in front of the Geniuses Academy, mesmerized by its beauty. It is so wide and modernized!
We got here before but not in front because we used the back door directly to the underground field and saw some part of the school but not totally the whole school.
2 days have passed and mom went home after saying her bye. Stella and I decided to go together in this school to see our own rooms the day after the first day of school. Yes, you heard it right, tomorrow is the first day of school.
I am very nervous as well as excited, I could see the world better now, I slowly discover the truth behind every secret. But there is something that keeps bothering my heart and my mind, I do not know what it is yet, I don’t know why I keep feeling strange the moment I see this school.
