Serena's POV
"I don't really get how someone like you was able to enroll here"
I rolled my eyes as soon as I heard Cheska's voice behind my back. I'm actually going home now since classes are finished.
I turned to look at her. "What's your problem?" I ask.
"You! You are my problem!" She barked.
I raise an eyebrow at her. I didn't do anything bad at her but for no reason, she hates me so much. Ever since my freshmen year, Cheska is always angry at me. That being the case, sometimes I just wanted to shower her with magic balls so she could disappear in my sight . But ofcourse I will never do that.
"If this is about the cheerleading team, don't worry. I already turned down the offer. You can be the cheerleader as much as you want."
They had offer me to be the cheerleader in our school's cheerleading team because they wanted to replace Cheska but for her sake, I turned down the offer. But here she is, pissing me again. Still angry at me.
She gave me a sharp glare. "That's the point. You are an attention seeker, you know that?"
I sigh inwardly. It's really hard to fight with someone who is very close-minded. Even if you will explain yourself, they won't hear you because for them, they are the only right, never wrong.
I didn't mind her and just pretend not to care as I turned around from her because I might really shower her with magic balls. But I was not even a feet away when I sense that she was going to pull my hair so I immediately summon a magic ball right at her feet. And before she could touch my hair, she fell on the floor.
"Oucchh!" she hissed.
"You were not even wearing heels but you stumbled." I said and the students around the hallway started giggling.
"SHUT UP!" she yelled and everyone became silent.
I rolled my eyes. She should be the mean and cruel here not me. Duh, I am kind. Sometimes I can be rude but I am still kind.
I jumped in surprise when she look at me and screamed.
"YOU!" she said pointing a finger at me.
"Sorry Cheska but I can't hear you." I said and quickly turned away.
I quickly walked outside the hallway. She is still screaming but nah. I don't know why she's so angry when in fact, I am already doing her a favor.
I had already heard lots of criticism this day and I don't want Cheska to add another. I don't know how they knew but the news of me rejecting Nathan was all over the school.
Others say,
"Serene made the right decision. She doesn't deserve to end up with someone who is a total player."
And I agree with this. Who would want to end up with a jerk like him? He's courting girls for what? For fun?
But others say,
"Serena is full of herself. She thought she's pretty? She actually had the balls to reject a hot and handsome man like Nathan?"
And this test my patience to the nth level. I badly wanted to let that person fly outside our school but I always remember the thing Mom would always say to me that,
"Always be kind and understanding Serena. That will make you the prettiest."
Hays. I think I really need to thank Mom really. Because if not for her words, that person might be outside our campus this instant.
The problem with people nowadays, if the guy had looks, it doesn't matter even if his attitude is a trash.
Went I arrive home, Mom isn't at our house. Probably, she's still at work. She never told me what her work is and I never tried to ask her. But she's away at home almost everyday and will be home at night.
Actually it was already close to night. Maybe I'll just spend time watching a movie while waiting for her. I am about to go at my room to start watching when I heard a noise.
Why does it sounds like there is a fight happening? I'm pretty sure this was far from here. This is what I hate of me having a heightened sense of hearing because if I heard something, even if it's dangerous, I'll be going to look at it.
As they say, curiosity kills. And in a blink, I'm in the forest where the noise is coming from. A far part from our village along the road was a forest. I sigh deeply. And since I am already here, let's go. I entered the forest quitely.
"Jas, at your back!"
"Shit!"
"Aya, are you okay?"
I walked a little faster. Why are those voices familiar to me? And those names.. they are quite familiar. I was a meters away when I finally came into the view at the fight that I had been hearing. And the scene that welcomed me shocked the hell out of me.
I could see clearly how Jas and Aya and an unfamiliar man was fighting against the people of Rivendell. I know, it's them because they are wearing black cloaks and their magic is dark magic.
Rivendell was the enemy of Cassiopeia. They ambushed us at our house years ago. I was just eight at that time.
"Crap, they're many!"
I came back from my senses when I heard Aya yelling. They were still fighting. And then I remembered how they helped me back then and maybe this is the time for me to pay them back.
"Okay, let me try." I slowly mutter.
I summoned a large air arrow and before it could reach the top of the tree where I am hiding, it was accompanied with lots of small and many more arrows. It crashed almost half of the enemies when it reached them and with the magic powers from Aya and her companies, the enemies were gone in a blink but those who manage to survive escaped.
I didn't know that Aya is just like me. That explains why I kind of trust them way back. And they are also one of the four element holder. From that guy, he can control water. Jas, she could also control air like me. While Aya can control earth element. I saw how the stones were flying around. That must be Aya's power.
"Are you guys fine?" I heard Calla asked.
I didn't see her fighting. What's her power?
"We're fine. Don't worry."
Jas looked around and I quickly hid myself behind the tree. I don't have any plans of revealing myself to them. I had promised Mom not to interact with any people of Cassiopeia. Clearly, she doesn't want me to enter our world. But I do understand.
"Looks like they're gone. We should go back at Cassiopeia." I heard their companion said.
I tried to peek behind the tree but they are gone already. They must had teleported. I sigh in relief. Good thing I came here. Even from afar, I can see Aya had many scratches. If I'm not mistaken, they must be fighting here for quite a while now.
I just sitting behind the tree for almost a minute. It's dark but the light from the moon is lighting up the surrounding. Good thing it was full moon tonight.
I let out a sigh and stood up from the tree where I am sitting. I should leave here. But I just took a three small steps when someone talked from my back.
"I see. They left you alone here." A lowly voice said.
