Serena's POV
I was walking through the corridors silently but the murmurs of the students was so loud. I can hear sounds even at ten mile radius and I'm sick of hearing all their nonsense talks.
"She's just pretty but she looks mean."
Atleast, I am pretty.
"Who's that? She's so cool."
Nah, I'm also hot girl.
"She just wants to be cool."
"I wanted her to be my friend but she looks mean."
"She's a warfreak and attention seeker."
And their endless murmurs went on. I scoffed as I rolled my eyes. I'm already far from them but they keep on talking about me still. I don't actually care because I have been hearing the same word over and over again. But I just don't like how they are quick to judge someone based on their physical appearance without even knowing the person first.
I don't even know if it's a good thing that I can hear whatever they are saying so I could be aware or the other way around since I kept on hearing things that I shouldn't hear.
Aside from having a heightened sense of hearing, I can control air. One of the four magic element in the magic world.
According to Mom, the four magic elements are the air, water earth and fire. This magic elements was strong and destructive but there is more powerful than this which she didn't mention to me.
I always love the idea of being different. At first, I really find it very weird that among amongst everyone, I am the only human who had a special ability but as I look into it, it's actually fascinating. I don't know but I do love that I am far more extraordinary from the ordinary humans.
Magical creatures, witches, powers, elements. This exist in Cassopeia. Where the ones like me live. Unfortunately, we left that place long ago after my Father died. I was just five that time.
"Our world is very chaotic Serena. While here, were ordinary people live, you will be safe."
That is Mom's explanation when I asked her once about our world. Ever since then, I didn't bother to ask any questions or queries about Cassopeia even if I badly wanted to go there.
"You are spacing out. Are you okay?"
I look up and find Nathan standing infront of me. I didn't notice he was here. I am inside our classroom. I went straight here to avoid hearing more nonsense talks.
I smiled. "I am fine, don't worry."
Nathan right here is courting me. I think, he's been pursuing me for over two months now. He's sweet. He keeps on giving me gifts and stuffs. But he isn't my type that is why I didn't gave him any answers yet. Another thing, I've been hearing that he's a playboy. I am not just quite sure.
"You sure?" He narrowed his eyes at me.
"I've been standing here for quite a while now and if I didn't spoke to get your attention, you won't notice me here."
I scratch my head and smiled at him.
"I'm sorry. I am just thinking about something but I am fine, I swear."
A little smile crept into his face. He walked to seat beside me but just in time when our Professor came in.
"What the." He murmured then look at me.
"I'll see you later." He said before going out of the classroom. Unfortunately, he was on the other section.
Our class went on for almost an hour. And when the classes is finally over, I went out immediately. Before going home, I went to the lockers to return the books that I am carrying when I heard Nathan's voice. I didn't know he's here.
I continued to walk but stopped when I heard his talking to someone else. I recognize those voices. He is talking with his friends and I heard them mentioning my name. Are they talking about me?
"Told you guys. Soon Serena will say yes to me so you should prepare your money." Nathan said.
I furrowed my brows. Money? What does he mean? I hid behind the lockers. I needed to know what was going on.
"Are you sure though? You've been courting her for almost a month but looks like she doesn't want you." Said his other friend while laughing.
"Exactly. I think we will win our bet. You won't get any answer from Serena so you should pay us." Another friend of him said. Now both of them are laughing.
I was stunned. What the hell? So I was right all this time. No. Everyone was right when they said Nathan is a playboy. Now I get it. That's why he is courting me is because they had a bet. Hearing about their so called 'bet' makes my blood boil in anger. What a total jerk.
Bet huh. I summon an invisible magic balls and send it to Nathan's direction. It hit his knees and immediately he fell into the floor.
"SHIT," he groaned holding his knees. Serves you right.
His friends immediately stopped laughing when they saw Nathan's condition.
"What happened?"
"I don't know," Nathan said. "Something just hit my knees out of nowhere. Ouch!"
"Can you stand? We'll bring you to the clinic," his friends said.
They helped him stand up and as they are about to reach the locker's door, magic balls swiftly reach their direction. They all fell into the ground.
"OUCH!" They screamed.
"What's happening? Crap!"
I rolled my eyes. I sent yet another magic balls targeting them and soon, they all collapse into the floor unconscious.
I went out and look at them.
"Sorry for doing this but you guys should learn your lesson. It's never funny to play with someone's feelings."
Then I exited the room. I know sooner or later, someone will see them. I had only inflicted little injuries on them. Maybe they won't be able to walk for a week but they deserve it.
If Nathan thinks that I'll be one of those girls he played to, well he's wrong. This is why women should know their worth not to fall on guys just because they are good looking.
I am already far from the locker room when I heard a noise there. Probably, someone already saw Nathan and his friends. I shrugged and continued to walk. Lucky to them if the can still walk but if not, let's just say it's time for them to taste their own medicine.
I immediately exited school. I started to walk through the streets. I always prefer to walk home instead of taking the bus. Our house isn't far so it's okay if I'll walk.
I turned right as I walk pass by the third alley. I have to pass another five blocks before I could reach home. I wear my headphones and raise the volume high so I won't be hearing other people's conversation.
I was humming at the music that was playing in my phone and was about to turn left when I felt that something hard hit my head. I manage to turn around to see what was happening and with my eyesight that was starting to get blurry, I only saw a black silhouette.
Before I could grasp fully what was happening around me, everything turned black and I felt my body hit the cold ground before finally loosing consciousness.
