I just get all the things that I think are cool because I can feel that Hover's girlfriend is also cool like me.
Kidding aside, their uniform is a mix of gray and royal blue so, I based it on that aspect. And! I really have this feeling that she'll love my choice.
Well, I'm confident about that.
"I'll carry it," I just nod my head and give him the things that I'm carrying in my arms as I'm contemplating what to buy for myself.
Well, tomorrow is my birthday too. Now that I think about it, I'll turn 24 tomorrow.
Wow. I'm that old already?
I shake my head and look for white balloons. I might try to have this for his birthday too.
"Let's go!"
We're done picking up the things that they need for their surprise birthday for Hover's girlfriend.
She's lucky. Her boyfriend's friends are very supportive. Despite knowing that one of their friends is somewhat uncomfortable with the idea.
But who knows if she finally moved on, right?
"Are you hungry?" His question makes my stomach growl as if it's been waiting for me to feed it.
Well, things happened that I forgot my hunger.
"Yup! Can you treat me?"
That's when I realize that I'm with Zaraze, not Foren.
"Oh, that-,"
"It's okay," I smile as I watch him laugh a bit.
I make him smile!
"Okay, thank you!"
I'm carrying a small paper bag. It contains some balloons and ribbons that I bought earlier. Of course, I paid for it without him knowing.
We are walking silently as we watch people walk back and forth. It's not that crowded but I can say, it's a little bit uncomfortable because they are staring at the man beside me.
He's just effortlessly breathtaking.
"Fastfood? Restaurant?" He asks as he looks around for a place where we can eat.
Pouting my lips, I feel like I'm craving some fried foods.
"Fastfood Raze," I didn't know I casually call him by the name his friends are using.
I just realize that when he stops walking and look at me with something mysterious etch on his eyes.
"What?" I ask him, looking intently into his eyes.
If I am some kind of ice cream, I might melt with the way he looks at me right now. It's making my knees wobble like jelly.
"Nothing. You can call me Raze, Ms. Crimson,"
I sigh as I look at his back dreamily. Hearing my surname from him, using his voice that I loved the most, I'm ready to faint.
Like right now.
Kidding aside, we walk inside the fast-food chain that we first saw as we look around for an empty table for us.
"You can look for our table. I'll order. What do you want to eat?"
I look up at the menu right on top of the counter.
"Hm, just lasagna and vegetable salad, please. And water," I look at him, smiling.
He just looks away from me and walks toward the counter. I shrug my shoulders and look for a table. I find one near the glass wall. We can see the cars passing by the side road from the glass wall.
I walk towards it and take a seat, facing the counter where I'm free to watch Zaraze from my place.
I put my head on my left hand, my elbow's on top of the table as my right helps support my right arm. Watching him like this is one of my habits whenever he and his friends are eating at their usual table in the cafeteria.
I always got scolded by Foren and I didn't mind being pulled in my hair every time I do this.
I heard the sound of broken glass at the back of my head when my phone's ringtone shocks me. What a way to ruin my moment. Tsk.
|Foren calling...|
My brows furrow in confusion when I see that she's calling me.
Why did she call?
"Hello? Why did you call?" I ask right after I answer my phone.
I gaze at the road right on my left, behind the glass wall.
"Kad...," my heart instantly beats abnormally when I sense something wrong with her voice.
"Why? What happened?" I ask her.
Frantically panicking inside already.
"We're at the hospital...," I nearly drop my phone after hearing what she just told me.
Again?
"Okay. Take a deep breath. Exhale, inhale. Follow me, Foren please?"
I bit my tongue as her faint cries reach my ears. I can't take the image of her, crying just like before.
"Can you come here?"
I immediately get my things, on the table after her question.
"Of course, Foren. Calm down okay? I'll be there,"
I ended the call when she said I'll hang up. I unconsciously glance at the counter where I find Zaraze looking at me, too. He probably saw me talking to someone over my phone. Having no choice, I walk near him. I stop in front of him and sigh.
They're right to say that time is shorter when you're happy. It means you don't have concrete control of the things that make you happy.
Still, I'm happy that I spent time with him today.
"I need to go. Emergency, is that okay?" I ask him, looking at the bridge of his nose
The confidence I have earlier fades like how time flies so fast. I can't look at his eyes all of a sudden.
For no reason.
"Can you take out my order? Just give it to the guardhouse. I bet, Mr. Reyes hasn't yet taken his lunch. You can give it to him so it'll not be a waste. Oh, I'm asking for a favor, I hope it's not a problem?"
I can't really think properly right now, thinking that Foren is alone in the hospital makes me anxious. That's why I don't know anymore what I'm saying to him.
All I know is that he smiled with gentleness in his eyes.
"Don't worry about it. You can go. Take care, Ms. Crimson," I curtly nod my head and finally look into his eyes.
"Thank you Raze,"
I'm half running, half walking when I reached the hospital Foren texted me. I took a cab to go here and didn't care anymore if the fee was expensive or not.
Foren's wellness is more important than anything right now.
"Ford Chazer Alvera, Nurse?" I ask the nurse in the reception area or whatever you call that is.
I tap the counter table with my fingers as I continue to feel anxious. I'm literally shaking right now.
I think I am the one who needs to calm down right now. But how?
"Room 202. Next floor Ma'am,"
"Thank you, Ms. Nurse!"
I'm glad I used my flat sandals today so it's not hard for me to run up the stairs to go to the second floor. If I'll wait for the elevator to open, it'll just be going to make me feel more nervous than earlier.
I better run to ease my worries.
"Foren!"
I call her name when I reach the second floor. I saw her sitting in the waiting area outside a room. I slowly walk towards her as I can feel the lump in my throat starting to block air causing me to clear it.
"Foren...," I call her name once again as I take a seat beside her.
I tap her back gently as she leans her head on me. I side hug her as I shush her when she started to cry on me.
"Just cry, Foren. I'm here. It'll be alright, hm?"
I can feel my eyes tearing up. Hearing her cries makes me feel guilty for feeling happy when she needs someone to lean on.
"What will I do, Kad? If he's going to be like this, I don't know anymore," she breaks down.
I blink my eyes several times as I hug her more.
"Did you look for him?" I ask her, trying not to say things that can trigger her.
"No. Why would I?" Bitterness drapes on her voice.
I nod my head to assure her that I understand.
"Think about it, Foren. The child needs financial support. If you're going to continue like this, what will happen to your son?"
She shakes her head as if she's not liking what I'm saying.
Even though I can't take seeing her like this, I can't help but wake her up. If she's going to follow her pride's side, nothing will happen.
I don't want to witness how broken she is, like before.
"You need to find Chazer's father, Foren...,"
