บทที่ 1 I am me

The days passed swiftly like the desert night breeze, in the twinkling of an eye a thousand li had passed, I only had a short rest after being injured, but the grass on the prairie had withered three times, and the leaves of the huyang tree forest had turned yellow three times as well. Over these three years, for more than a thousand days and nights, I have followed the wolves, wandered from the north end to the south end of the desert, and returned from the south end to the north end of the desert again. Amidst the fun of playing, it was as if I had never left the wolf pack, the six years I spent with A Die seemed to have been buried under the yellow sand, but alas, it was only as if...
In the middle of the pitch black night, when a thousand and one voices had become silent, beside the bonfire, Lang Xiong and I sat and lay down, he had slept soundly, but I couldn't sleep at all. In the afternoon I again saw the Xiongnu troops, for the first time in three years, the hooves of their horses suddenly resurrecting a long-buried past.
Nine years earlier, Xiyu.
Someone lying in the desert, I looked into his eyes, he looked at me. A lizard crawled on his face, but he didn't budge, I curiously patted his cheek with my paw, he still didn't move, but his lower lip pulled up a little, as if smiling.
I watched him from the time the sun was in the middle of the sky until the sun set, finally I understood why he wasn't moving, he would soon die of thirst.
Until now I still do not understand, why do I want to help him? Why with so much difficulty, I caught a goat and gave it to him? Why, for no apparent reason, am I looking for a father for myself? Was it because in his eyes there was something familiar to me, but also foreign? After he drank fresh blood, after his body regained strength, he did something that people usually do ---- replying milk with tuba water. He tied me up with a rope, then took me away from the wolves in the vast and wild Gobi Desert, took me to the tents where humans lived.
He had drunk fresh goat's blood, but he would not allow me to drink fresh blood and raw meat again. He forced me to walk straight imitating him, forced me to imitate him talking, and insisted that I call him 'A Die', that's why I often fought with him, but he was fearless, every time I lost a fight and ran into the desert, he always caught me and take me home.
I am in so much pain, but I don't understand why he behaved like that to me, why did he want me to be human? Is being a wolf not good enough? He told me, that I am actually a human, not a wolf, therefore, I must become a human. When I started learning to write, I began to understand a little about my past: I was a child who was abandoned or lost, a pack of wolves raised me and made me a little wolf, but he wanted to make me a human.
"I don't want to comb my hair!", shouting aloud I threw down the comb, then looked for something around me to vent my anger on. My arms are already sore from the aches, but apparently I haven't been able to make a braid yet, I was excited to see my beautiful face after my hair was combed and braided in the lake water, but it turns out that the more I combed it, my hair is getting messy, so now I can only harbor resentment .
The sky is high and the clouds are sparse, the sun is shining warmly and the wind is blowing gently, there is only a big enough buffalo drinking water by the lake. While puffing out my cheeks, I looked at the black buffalo, I silently ran behind his body, then threw a kick to his buttocks, about to kick him into the lake. The buffalo mooed, its body didn't move, I wasn't satisfied and kicked it again, its tail wagged, and it turned to look at me. It suddenly dawned on me that things had been a bit unfavorable, and that I had been taking my anger out on the wrong target. I should have abused something weaker than me, the buffalo is a hard rock, while I am a fragile egg.
I decided to go ahead of the buffalo, I bent down and let out a wolf howl, hoping that the wolf's authority could frighten him and run headlong, usually when I do this, the foal or goat who hears it always goes limp or runs away, but instead he gave a long moan, then pointed his horns at me, while he was grunting angrily and digging the ground with his feet, I turned around, howled miserably and started running as fast as he could. I finally understood why when people curse someone who is stubborn and stupid, they call it 'niu piqi'.
