"BROKEN AT TWENTY ONE, A NEW PHASE ( BOOK TWO)"
One year later
Hi, I'm Karina rain, previously my life was, what we call, peaceful, until the devil, yes! He, brought in a demon in sheep's clothing into my life with the name, David dash, I know y'all remember, the tall, handsome, looking guy, who swooped me off my feet and took everything colorful in my life, well if you don't recall, he was all that. ( Frowns).
After a long crazy year of crying my eyes out, it was finally begun a new semester at Lakewood university, my mom drove me to school and before leaving made sure that I drag my ears out and listen to the dangers of having unprotected sex, decerning, I was still a virgin, if only she knew.
"Bye mom" I sneaked out with my suitcase rolling behind and weaved my hands as she (mom) drives off, giving me a wary look.
And the second her car passed the university premises, I walked back into the school's dorm and straight into my room, thus seeing it was a new semester I should be expecting a new roommate, unfortunately, my old one won't be here with me, and by them, I meant my best friends, Lia hart and June Jackie Reed, it's quite a long time, right? But oh well, it seems I won't be spending the semester with them.
Room 201. I paved my way into my room, placed my bags at the side, and fell my whole weight on the bed, weaving an exhausted glare.
"Damn" I exclaimed, not long, the doors swiftly welcomed a new set of students, who swiftly approached my direction.
I took heed of the footsteps and immediately jerked up, catching familiar faces.
"Lia? Jane?, What are you both doing here?". I said, astonished.
Lia smile and falls her back on the bed and left Jane explaining to me, she says, "actually, Karina, the dorms headmistress, didn't shovel our rooms, so! We are still roommates".
"What?" A cloud of excitement drops on my face because I wasn't expecting to share the same room with them, urgh! Thank God, I've got the two most important people in my life.
"Am hungry, guys"
Lia's words drift both our attention, "what do you want to eat?" I asked and saw the look she passed to Jane and she sews the same look with me.
( Waits for a while before proceeding further)
"No!! No freaking way". I declined after reading the deviousness in their demeanor.
Lia gets up from the bed and weaved me close, "please Karina, it's a new semester and we have only one day to have fun, so tomorrow school has officially resumed".
Lia has also been the crazy one, while Jane has been the not-so-crazy type, oh!! Who I'm I kidding, both my friends are complete and utterly lunatics, they would prefer to party all day and when things get out of hand, they somehow pull me in with the mess!!! But minus that, my friend has always been there for me, especially when David decided to leave me heartbroken.
"Urgh! Fine, let's go".
I got a hold of my phone and strolled to the door, as they followed behind.
Thus standing outside the dorm, I said, "where are we going, first?".
"Mrs. Miriam's food stand, I'm kinda craving chilly hot dogs?". Jane heads out after taking heed of my question, Lia turns and asks with an odd face, "Karina, is there a thing like chilly hot dogs?".
"There is". I answered back with a weak smile and walked away as she kept the exact look moving as well.
We both left to Mrs. Miriam's food stand and met the waiting line filled with a tone of people, who also wanted a taste of her chilly hot dogs.
"Urgh, I cannot believe I'll have to wait for my turn". She falls a frown and turned to me.
"Why are you staring, at me, there's nothing I can do, we all have to wait, and besides, you're the one craving for this," I said as she turns to Lia whose attention was lost  someplace else, upon seeing that, she flipped her hair and went straight to the next food stand, "what Is she doing?" I said, only to hear her scream, and runs out like a scared little girl.
Immediately, Lia and I rushed to her aid, and asked, "what's going on?" She kept jumping and stylishly gave us a wink, giving the conformity that something was up.
"Ahhh, snake?"
A lady's voice gets our eyes back and before we could get everyone settled, the food stand was like a desert, that means, everyone there ran for their lives, leaving June behind who happily walked over and ordered for her chilly hot dogs.
"Oh my goodness, you're sick?".  I said to her as she walked passed ignoring the frown on my face.
Our next food tour was, the mall, dragged into by Lia, we ran a whole scan of the shopping mall that was what she craved for; new clothes.
And finally, the tour was maxed by Ella's coffee shop, that was what, I craved for, and made sure that they both have a long time seated there.
"Urgh, can we go now?" June cries out, a weak smile smudge on my face when my eyes drift off to see a familiar face who walked past without taking notice of me.
"David?" ( I said within, lost in thought)
"Karina, are you okay?" Lia snapped me back to my senses, "yes, I am" I said and immediately left the coffee shop.
"What's her problem?". They both shared the same thought and left behind me.
( BACK AT OUR DORM)
We got to our room and I went straight to change into my nightwear, Lia and June both stood and waited for my return and upon seeing my feet ambling in, they weaved further and cornered me.
"What the hell? Let me go" I said
"No, we won't do much until you tell us what the hell happened back at the coffee shop, who did you see?" Lia asked and June jerked her head affronting to hear my response.
I pulled backward and said, "no one" yet they both weaved me close and declined my statement, "you're lying, tell me who you saw?" ( Both breaths of air, at the same time, sinking melodious torture to my ears, that nudged me to say the truth).
"Fine, I saw David". In a shaky voice, the truth was revealed.
"Which David?". June asks pairing with Lia who also anxiously awaits my come back.
I buffed out a deep breath, took a little time for myself, and proceed further with my answer, "the same David, who broken my heart, David dash!!! His here, and somehow I feel like our story hasn't ended". ( Eyes locked as we both stared at each other).
"Oh my goodness, I cannot believe he's here, why didn't you show him to us?". Lia gums her fist in anger.
"Why should I? So you could go out there and beat him to a pulp". I said, which pushed June's entry into the conversation.
"Yes Karina, at least, he's a dick who deserves nothing but shit ".
