Chapter Three

"Oh No!" Aunt Maggie exclaimed and followed her but she had already entered her room and shut the door. She laid in her bed shedding tears.
"Cassie please let me in." Aunt Maggie hit the door.
"No! I don't want to see anyone now." She replied from inside.
"Please your tears is causing a storm outside." Aunt Maggie said in a worried tone.
"What do you mean?" She sniffled.
"Can you just let me in first?" Aunt Maggie requested.
There was silence for awhile before the door opened slowly, and she entered. Aunt Maggie walked over to the bed and sat down. She patted the side of the bed and gestured for Cassie to sit down. Cassie was hesitant before sitting down.
    "Cassie?" She called softly.
    "Yes, Aunt." Cassie answered.
"You know how much I love you, right?" Aunt Maggie asked, and Cassie nodded. "And you know I would never lie to you, right?" She asked.
      "Yes." Cassie answered.
"I know how you feel, sweetheart. I'm aware of what you had to go through and not being able to see your parents. You see, you're a human and the supernatural world is too dangerous for you. Your parents are the head of the realm of pure magic and as a result, they have plenty enemies especially the witches," She sighed and continued, "If they had left you there, the witches would have found a way of getting rid of you. And if they had come to visit you, your location would be disclosed. So, it's not that they hate you rather it's because they love you so much." Aunt Maggie said.
"Really?" She had calmed down and the rain was stopping gradually.
    "Yes dear." Aunt Maggie answered.
"Woah! I didn't think of that. But at least, they should have sent me letters, telling me how much they love and adore me." Cassie pouted.
"They send letters through a Raven and a dove. A letter delivered by a raven means bad news and that's what the witches ignore. But a letter sent by a dove means good news, the witches won't let the dove pass until they've seen the content." Aunt Maggie explained.
Cassie clenched her fists. "Those witches! I hate them already. They're the reason why I can't see my parents, I'll master my powers and deal with them all." Cassie said.
"Calm down, dear." Aunt Maggie tapped her and she sighed.
"I'm sorry for how I reached." She apologized.
"No problem. I completely understand," She smiled and they hugged. "Come on, I'm going to make your favorite snack." Aunt Maggie said and her face lit up immediately.
      "Chocolate cake with strawberry toppings?"
    "Yeah."
"Yay!!!" She laughed and ran to the kitchen with Aunt Maggie tagging along. The weather returned to normal and the sun shone lovelier than before. Aunt Maggie looked outside and sighed at the change in weather. She needs to make sure that Cassie learns how to control her powers, since her emotions manipulates the weather.

THE NEXT DAY.
LAKEFIELD HIGH SCHOOL
Cassie entered the school with her head down. Her eyes were blue again and worse, her hair was now a shade of blue with a touch of red and yellow at the end. She walked into her class while the students murmured.
"OMG! Look at her eyes. Is a normal person supposed to have blue eyes?"
"Haven't you noticed her hair color?"
   "So Creepy!"
"She just resumed school and she's already breaking the rules."
     "She's kinda cute, anyway."
     "Shut up, you pervert!"
Cassie ignored them and walked over to her seat. Crystal was already seated.
     "Good morning, Cassie." She smiled.
"Morning, Crystal. Hope you slept well?" Cassie asked.
Crystal smiled. "Yes, I did. How about you?"
"I slept well too." Cassie answered and sat down.
"Wow! You are wearing those blue eye contacts again." Crystal said.
"Yeah! Yeah! I am." Cassie laughed nervously.
"And your hair! It's beautiful," Crystal touched it. "And so soft!"
Cassie smiled and brought out her books.
Asher walked into the class and the girls started drooling.
    "He's so cute!"
"And dreamy! I just got weak in the knees."
"He doesn't have a girlfriend, yet. I'm going to make sure he falls in love with me."
   "In your dreams!"
   "Asher! I love you!"
Asher ignored them and walked straight to Cassie's seat. "Hey newbie." He said and Cassie looked up.
"Good morning, Asher." She answered and avoided his gaze again. She didn't want him to see her blue eyes.
He looked at her hair and grinned. "Hope you remembered our agreement?" He asked.
"Yes. Crystal, I'll be right back." She stood up and followed him out while the class watched in shock. They got outside and he asked,
"So, where do I show you first?"
"Anywhere you want." She replied with her head lowered.
"Okay. Let's start with the cafeteria." He said.
They walked into the cafeteria and he showed her around. After that he took her to the school music studio then round the hallways.
"Our final stop is the martial arts classroom. Here we learn different and amazing fighting skills for defense." He said.
"Wow! Even sword fights?" She asked.
    "Yes." He answered.
"Do you know how to do it?" She asked.
"Of course!" He answered and smiled.
"Please, teach me. That is... if you want to." She said and bit her lower lips.
"Yes, I will teach you." He smiled at her cuteness.
     "Thanks." She smiled back.
They walked out of the class and came face to face to with the principal. "Morning, dad." Asher smiled.
"Good morning, sir." She greeted and he looked at her.
     Blue eyes and blazing hair.
    Hmm....
"What is your name?" He asked, looking at Cassie.
"My name is Cassie, sir." She answered.
"Okay, Cassie. You may go to your class now." He said.
She nodded and left. The principal dragged Asher to one side.
"Do you notice that there is something odd about that girl?" He asked.
"Yes, dad. She's a supernatural." Asher answered.
"Hmm... Harven and Roanna's daughter, heiress to the throne of pure magic." He said and chuckled.
Asher gasped. "Dad, are you serious?" He asked.
"Yes, son. Now I want you to keep an eye on her. She hasn't learned how to control her powers yet." He said.
"How did you know she hasn't learned how to control her powers yet?" Asher asked.
"Because, she would have hidden those blue eyes and blazing hair." He answered.
"What do you want me to do?" Asher asked.
"Train her, and help her master her powers. She will be very useful to us later."
    Asher nodded and left.
Cassie was still on her way to class when she was blocked by three girls. Being the friendly girl that she was, she decided to greet them.
"Hi, there. My name is Cassie, What's yours?" She asked, smiling in a friendly way.
The girls looked at her and burst into laughter. "Look at her smiling like we're here to joke with her." The one by the left know as Zeeva, mocked her.
"Hey, newbie! The name's Lily and I don't take shit from anybody. I'm the queen of the school, I'm also the pillar." She said, wearing a proud look that disgusted Cassie.
"Please, I don't understand what you're saying because it doesn't have anything to do with me saying hi." Cassie said looking at her.
The girl was slim and tall with black hair and brown eyes. She was beautiful too. Cassie looked at Lily from head to toe, and couldn't help but feel awkward. The aura she emanated was too strong for Cassie to comprehend. Cassie wondered if she was a supernatural too.
Lily also noticed that Cassie was different. She could smell the magic off her but her pride didn't make her look into it.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" She snapped when she saw Cassie staring at her.
   Cassie looked away. "Nothing."
"I only came to warn you, stay away from Asher, cause he's mine!" Lily snapped while her minions gave Cassie scornful looks.
"I don't have anything to do with him. He is only showing me round the school." Cassie defended.
"I don't care! I just don't wanna see you anywhere near him." She said and they walked away.
Crystal heard everything, and came to meet Cassie. "Come on, Cassie. Cheer up! They're only jealous that Asher is giving you more attention than them." She said, rubbing Cassie's hair.
"He was only showing me round the school. What's there to be jealous about?" Cassie asked.
"You should know how high school life is by now. There are always bullies who go about picking on the newbies, especially when the most popular guy in school gives them attention. You see those girls, they're spoiled brats that don't give a damn about anyone's feelings but theirs. Just forget about them." Crystal said.
Cassie sighed. "I'll try and forget about them but they should stay off my turf next time." She said and they went back to class.
After the teacher left, a girl walked up to them. "Hello." She waved with a sweet smile plastered on her face.
"Hi." Crystal smiled back and faced her book. It seems she wasn't interested.
"Hey girl, how're you doing?" Cassie asked returning the smile.
"I'm fine. How about you?" The girl asked.
    "I'm cool." Cassie answered.
"Cassie, please can you come with me to the tree outside? I really need to talk to you." The girl pleaded.
"Okay, no problem." Cassie stood up, smiled at Crystal before following the girl outside. Crystal also stood up and followed them so as to hear what they were going to talk about.
When they were finally outside, Cassie asked, "Okay. What is it?"
"I have one question for you first."
     "Okay."
"My name is Mia and I'm a supernatural. Are you a supernatural too?" Mia asked.
Cassie stiffened "No, I'm not!" She denied instantly.
Mia smiled. "You can't lie to me, Cassie. The magic is all over you." She said.
"How did you know that I am a supernatural?" Cassie asked.
"I know, beecause I'm one too."
    "Awesome!" Cassie smiled excitedly.
"Now Cassie, I know you just found out about your powers, and you're not able to control them, yet. So, I'm here to help." Mia said.
    "How?" She asked.
"What I mean is that I'll train you on how to control your powers."
"Okay, Mia. But why are you helping me?" Cassie asked.
"Because I was sent to protect you." Mia said with a smirk.
"Protect me? From what?" Cassie asked.
Mia was bothered by her questions but she decided to maintain her cool and just answer. After all, a person must be patient to get whatever they want. "Witches and demons." She answered.
Cassie stood for a while, reasoning everything. She couldn't believe all that was happening. She... a supernatural... heiress to her parents throne... she wouldn't have believed it, if it was happening to someone else but this wasn't someone else, this was her.
"I've heard you, Mia. When do we start?" She asked.
"I'll tell you later." Mia said and smiled before leaving. Cassie sighed and left too.
Crystal who was hiding and listening to everything came out of her hiding spot. She stood there and smirked. "The witches council must hear about this!" With that said, she looked to make sure nobody was coming before summoning a portal. "I'm sorry, Cassie but the Queen of the witches would be glad to hear news of you." She said and vanished into the portal.
