Chapter 6 – proposal

Veera’s POV
"Hey, are you okay?" " He inquired once more.
How does he manage to change his eyes so quickly? It's unfair that I wasn't expecting to see Aji in front of me. After watching what he did, I felt as if my emotions were jumbled and confused, as if I wanted to be outraged but glad for what I witnessed.
"Hey, Veera, stop thinking about that guy, he's dead, and that jerk has no right to be in your head," a frigid voice said within my voice.
Huh?
"Are you really going to keep thinking about that jerk who wronged you?" Stop thinking about him! " The voice yelled aggressively at me.
Who are you? And why are talking to my head?!
Before I could respond to the voice in my brain, someone touch my shoulder, which brought me back to reality, and I saw that person in front of me, his face so near to mine that I instantly pushed him away, astonished at what he had done.
"Wait, what are you doing?!?" I questioned.
"Hmmm... I was calling you, but you didn't respond, so I have no choice but to get closer to gain your attention back to whatever distracted you from me," he said.
"I'm sorry, but since you're truly his brother, I have one final question for you," I said to him.
"All right, what exactly is it?" " he questioned.
"How come you're supposed to be dead when you're not? What's the deal with that? " I asked him the question that has stayed with me.
"I am truly sorry, but I cannot answer your question because it is a family matter," he objected to answering my question.
Well, I understand his reason, so I won't insist on hearing the response to him. "Well, well, I understand then, may I ask you another question?" " I ask if I may ask him another question.
"Sure, go ahead," he agreed.
" What brought you here after ten years?" What is the explanation behind this? " I asked him my final inquiry.
"hmmm...easy, my brother Aji requested me a favor by letter, so I decided to come and check what the situation is," he replied honestly.
I have a feeling this guy is concealing something, but I'm not sure what it is, and I know that's not the only reason he came here. This guy has a lot of secrets that he keeps to himself since he doesn't want to reveal them to anyone. Even if he is Aji's younger brother, I still don't trust him completely.
"Okay, I realize this is all of a sudden, but could you lend me mo-" before I could continue my sentence, he raised his hand, forcing me to stop talking.
"If you are willing, I will offer you using a different way," he stated to me.
I'm perplexed by his expression. "What exactly do you mean by a different method?" I wondered.
He gives me a grin. "First, assure me that you'll utilize whatever strategy I use," he added, urging me to pledge.
“Huh why would I promise when I don’t know what kind of method you are going to use though” I protested to him.
"Well, I won't help you with any problem you have," he said.
He has no right to intimidate me in this way! If there are other persons who can assist me, I will decline this disrespectful offer and will not seek his assistance in the first place!
"Miss, please accept mister's terms; he is the only one who can help us!" " Suddenly, the children entered the living room.
"What exactly are you doing here? I instructed you to stay there exclusively," I reprimanded them for defying my command.
"But you were taking too long, and that old man is coming in the house right now to push you out!"The children said to me in a panicked tone.
What that pervert is already here?! Why can't that old man wait for a damn minute.
"Alright kids, calm down, nothing will happen, all of us will stay in this house, so don't worry," I promise them, a little lie in my voice.
I'm not sure whether we could stay in this mansion today; I can't leave this house, which has been my sole home for more than ten years. But I can't pay that much money, even if it's far too much for me.
"You're lying, miss; that's what our father said to us, that we're secure and everything is fine, but in the end, we weren't safe and everything wasn't fine because mom and dad died!" The two children were distraught and began to cry together in front of me.
My heart ached thinking about how much they had to go through after losing both of their parents in front of them. I tenderly cuddle both of the children in my body, attempting to comfort them.
"Shhh...I'm not lying, just believe me alright, and that disgusting individual will be gone and won't disturb us anymore," I assured them honestly.
They both look at me with certainty, "really?" they both question.
"Yes so go with Mrs. Payne first and wait for me to come back victorious okay?" I smiled at them as I wipe both of their tears.
Both nodded in answer and dashed towards Mrs.Payne, who was just outside the door. The kids returned their attention to us, this time staring at Aji's younger brother.
"Please help us protect miss," both kids appealed to him, speaking loudly to him.
He simply grinned at them and remarked, "That depends on what your beloved miss would accept my offer," in an ignorant and chilly tone.
Both kids have turned pale, as if they had heard something more, and have fled towards Mrs.Payne, who is staring at him with hard, menacing eyes.
After then, both children returned to Mrs.Payne's chamber. When we were finally alone again, I looked at this man with purpose.
"Alright, I guarantee that I won't hesitate to accept the sort of offer you'll make Mr.Nacht," I say solemnly.
His eyes twinkled as he heard my response to his challenge to me. "Nice, great, I promise you will never regret it," he replied.
I'm beginning to regret it, but I don't have much of a choice right now; it's either lose the house or enter into a contract with this guy.
"Alright, so what's your plan?" I inquired.
He took another step closer to me and rested his arm on my shoulder. "Let's introduce ourselves first, okay?" he asked, introducing himself to me. "I am Bo Orion Nacht, younger brother of a bastard who harmed you," he continued, reaching out his other hand towards me.
"I am Veera Estrella Nacht, the wife of your older brother Daji Fiadh Nacht, and it is a pleasure to meet you," I responded back, introducing myself and offering out my hand for a handshake.
Mr. Bo tightened his grasp on my hand just as I was ready to let go, which irritated me a bit.
"Please let go of my hand, please," I said to him.
"Why would I?" he countered.
"Because we're done shaking hands," I said.
"Well, even if we're done with that, we can still hold hands," he responded, beaming lovingly at me.
Huh? What on earth did he mean by what he said?
"What do you mean-" before I can say anything further, he grabs my hand tightly and turns his eyes to the living room door.
And there he was, emerging from the door with an ugly grin on his lips and a group of others who appeared to be his minions.
"Hey Veera, why are you still on my property? Did I tell you to leave?" he questioned.
"Who said I was going to leave?" I said fiercely.
"Hmm...so you're going to decide to marry then?" he said, looking at me with lustful eyes.
Over my dead corpse, of course!
"Even if you murder me right now, I won't marry a disgusting old guy like you!" I exclaimed, refusing to marry him and insulting Mr.Cabbage at the same time.
As he heard my remark and insults to him, his face became crimson with rage. "You truly want to be killed, you b*tch!" he said angrily.
I smiled at him again, "It's better to be murdered than to live with a monster like you," I added confidently.
"Drag that b*tch out of my land right now!" he yelled at his staff.
Maybe I went a little too far with what I said to Mr.Cabbage, but I couldn't stop myself. Even though I'm terrified right now, I'm not showing it on my face.
"Stop, don't you dare touch my wife with your unclean hands," said a harsh and menacing voice from Mr.Bo, who had remained silent when Mr.Cabbage and his guy entered the Living Room.
Did he just mention the word "wife?"
"Who are you?" Mr.Cabbage, who had now seen the man next me, inquired in an irritated tone.
"Me? I am the owner of the house you are attempting to steal from my wife," Mr.Bo answered coldly, glaring at Mr.Cabbage with murderous intent in his eyes.
"Steal?! What nonsense are you talking about? This is now my property since that foolish woman's brother used it as a payment when he lost while gambling!" Mr.Cabbage clarified once again.
I just kept mute when Mr.Bo continued to refer to me as his wife; I'll ask him tomorrow about his explanation for the activities he took tonight.
"Yes, I asked my wife about it, but do you know why this house cannot be used as payment?" he said of Mr. Cabbage.
"What do you mean?!" Mr. Cabbage questioned, puzzled.
Finally, Mr.Bo released his grip on my hand as well as his arm, which was lodged in my shoulder. Slowly and solemnly approach Mr.Cabbage. This caused Mr.Cabbage to take one step away from Mr.Bo, who was holding his arm to keep him from going.
"It's because this house is -" Mr.Bo moved closer to Mr.ear Cabbage's to continue what he was saying.
As a result, I missed the rest of what was spoken. Mr. Cabbage's face turned pale as I saw the hue change. That piques my interest as to what Mr.Bo said to make Mr.Cabbage pale.
