Chapter 1

THE SUDDEN deceleration of the vehicle caused my eyes to snap open. Good Samaritan University, my new school rested majestically in front of me. I wear my black shades, while Kuya Ronald, one of my bodygaurds, opened the door and held his hands out. I accepted it and he gently pulled me out of the car and give me my umbrella.
"I think, i'll be okay here, thank you"
"Okay Ma'am, nasa paligid lang po kami kapag may kailangan kayo." I nodded and start walking away.
Maybe, you find it weird to have a bodyguard watching me, but i don't see it weird, because i feel like i'm safe all the time whenever their monitoring me. My father and mother is business tycoon's that's why i always have a bodygaurd to keep me safe. Plus i have been kidnap, that's why ganon sila overprotective. Nag-iisa kasi nila akong anak.
And i have a skin disorder, that is called, Albinism it is a rare genetic disorder where i aren't born with the usual amount of melanin pigment.
Most people with albinism have very pale skin , hair and eyes, like me. We are also prone to sunburn and skin cancer. That's why, i have to wear shades, apply sunscreen, wear a clothes that cover my body and use umbrella all the time.
My mother and father don't have albinism, but the 'father' of my father (my grandpa) have, so i ended up inheriting it from him. Albinism is passed down 'inherited' through families bloodline. People are born with albinism when they inherit an albinism gene from their parents.
Some albino's is legally blind, because of pigmentation in the eye with a corrected visual acuity of 20/200 or worse, but my vision is 20/10. That means i have a very sharp vision.
Kung tatanungin niyo naman kung nagagamot ito ay hindi, because albinism is a genetic disorder, it can't be cured, but i get treatments twice a month for getting proper eye care and monitoring skin for signs of abnormalities.
ARYA TRIED navigating the entire campus trying to find the BSBA building with her phone that shows the map of the school. But after a while, she give up and finally ask a student to ask where this building is. "Excuse me, can i ask you something?"
The man look at her and gasp, while holding his heart.
Is he shocked? Ahh..why i'm even surprised.
"Uhm...yes?" he smile warmly at me and staring at the same time. Nawe-weirduhan ba siya sa akin?...If, yes whatever i'm sure, that we will never see each other again, because this school is so huge.
"I'm Arya Cruz. I'ts my first time here and i'm wondering where's the BSBA building is?"
He told me where is it, while smiling brightly at me. "And ohh...I'm Theo Hernandez. It's nice to meet you and i hope you enjoy your stay here in GSU, Miss Arya."
"Oum, did you get it or you want me to accompany you?" Tanong niya kasi nahuli niya akong nakatitig sa kaniya.
"U-uhmm, I-it's nice to meet you too and I get it, thank you." i said and turned away, gosh, that was embarrassing!
"Okay Miss Arya, see you around." i nooded and start walking away.
I turn my head, were i left him and guess what?....i'm right because he's staring at me. Kumaway pa nga habang naka-ngiti. Weird!
AFTER A minute nakita ko rin yung classroom. But when i entered the room, they fell in silence. Of course, they will be quiet. My appearance is maybe, weird in their eyes.
I didn't mind their stares, so i just walk past them to sit in the chair, on the back and i'm glad that after minutes of sitting here is no one talking to me until....
"Hey i'm Soliel, but you can call me Sully. Wow, sobrang puti mo. What soap to do you use?, It's my first time seeing you here in GSU, transfer? " i look a the girl, who ask me with a bubbly voice. I squint my eyes and raised my white eyebrow at her. "Uhmm...bakit?"
"Yah know. It's rude to ask me question like that. Do you know about albinism?" she shook her head. I sighed. That's why. "Albinism is a human being who is congenitally deficient in pigment and usually has a milky or translucent skin, white or colorless hair, and eyes with pink or blue iris and deep-red pupil. Did you get it?"
"Hindi." Napanganga ako sa sagot niya.
"I'm lack of melanin. Kaya ganito ako kaputi." Napatango siya sa sinabi ko. Hay, Thank you Lord!
"How to do that?, turo mo naman sakin." I thought she already get it!!
I didn't answer her, dahil wala rin namang silbi.
Kakausapin pa niya sana ako, kaso lang dumating yung Prof. namin. Thank you Prof... Your my favorite Professor now, you just save my day, from a super duper talkative girl beside me.
