The mansion looked like a mess. There are fires in every part of it. Maybe they are planning to set it ablaze. The green yard is tainted with blood. It may be from the employees, assassins, or guests. Kendrick and his family were trapped in the mansion. The attackers seemed like they were coming from his rival. It will be a very tragic story for the Amell family. But on the other hand, inside the garden maze. Alexander found the woman and was able to save her from the assassin.
“Are you okay? Are you hurt somewhere?” he asked and looked all over her. She shakes her head in response. He then helps her stand.
“Can you walk?”
She nodded.
“Then follow me,” he said and grabbed her hand.
The garden maze is about a hundred square meters. Everyone he meets, he shoots. No exceptions. He looked around to see Gunther but he was nowhere to be found. When they reached the center of the maze they stopped for a while.
“Why are you alone?” he asked, but she didn’t say anything. Instead, she’s looking at the thing in the middle. There is a fountain with a fairy on top holding a rose. The moonlight makes the rose look like it is glowing. It’s beautiful. He picked up his phone and answered the call.
‘Where are you?’ it was Harvin in the line.
“In the middle of the maze.”
‘Don’t tell me you are lost? You need to hurry. I saw Gunther’s men entering the maze. They must be looking for her.’
“Okay. Meet us in the driveway.”
He then ended the call and gunshots were all over the place and some were close to where they were. So, he pulled her closer and ran fast. They turned left, then right, then right again, and finally to the exit. The sight is not very good. There are bodies everywhere. They looked like Kendrick’s men and some were assassins. They continued running towards the driveway where Harvin was waiting. He looked at Kelly for a moment and she was just following him quietly. She looked calm in a situation like this. He wanted to know what is inside her head. He looked at the surroundings and thought it looked fun. The sound of bombs and guns is like music to his ears. They were like the rhythm of a person’s ending. If he is not with a woman, he would probably join the brawl. But the important thing, for now, is to take her away.
They saw Harvin and entered the car quickly. Gunther’s men saw them and are now following them. Then they started shooting. He opened the window, letting out his upper body, and started shooting back. After a few shots, he runs out of bullets and goes back in to reload, then he shoots again. Those who run are shot, then there are cars coming their way. He sat back and looked at her. It seemed like they were really after her.
Harvin drove the car along the main road and two cars followed them. Seconds later, they are already bumping into their car.
“Put your seatbelts on,” he ordered.
There’s a blind curve ahead with a cliff on the side. He accelerated and the cars behind them did the same. They are now getting closer to the curve and Harvin has no plan of stopping. He is grinning like a mad man.
“Five. Four. Three. Two. And- one.” he whispered and stomped the brake, then drifted. He looked in the mirror and saw the cars flying from the cliff. He laughed hysterically while there were sounds of an explosion from the edge of the cliff. He knew the road very well and took it to his advantage.
“To the rest house,” Alexander said, and Harvin nodded.
They drove for four hours and arrived at the rest house. The house is so big that you will have to raise your head to see the top and it is located on provincial land. No one knew this place except his family and Harvin. It was already dawn when they had arrived, so they decided to take a rest first, then talk later.
Kelly woke up because of a good smell. Her stomach is grumbling soundly requesting food. As she went to the kitchen, she saw the two men were already preparing dinner. Harvin is cooking and Alexander is just there waiting. It was already evening when they awoke. They noticed her presence coming into the kitchen.
“Join us,” he said. She nodded and sat across from him. Harvin then served them food and they ate not without talking.
After dinner, they gathered in the living room. But then half an hour had passed and no one spoke. Kelly also didn’t utter a sound ever since the night of the event. Alexander sighed, which made them face him.
“You already know my name. This is Harvin.” Alexander started, then Kelly looked at Harvin and just nodded.
“Aren’t you going to ask why we brought you here?” Harvin asked. Kelly then opened her mouth and closed it again as if she was hesitating.
“I saw you with Gunther leaving the mansion. How come I only found you in the garden maze?” Alexander said while facing her.
“Someone attacked us and we got separated,” she said with head down, not wanting to meet his gaze.
“I don’t know what your relationship is with Gunther, but you no longer belong to him. You’ll stay here for the time being.”
“What? No! You can’t. I mean. T-thank you for saving me from those assassins and I-I’m sorry to disappoint you but I, I can’t stay here. I must go back. Please let me go back.” she then raised her head and faced him.
“No.”
“Please let me go. I promise I will repay your kindness for saving me. But please, I can’t stay here. I can’t. I just c-can’t.”
“Kindness? Did you really think I saved you, out of kindness? Ha!” he grabbed her face and made her look closely while grinning.
“Listen. You are staying here. You can’t go out until I say so. Your relationship with Gunther is over. You’re mine. You belong to me now.”
Then she started crying. He stood and walked to his room, not glancing back. He could still hear her cries even inside her room. He can’t do anything about it. He just didn’t want her to be with Gunther. Then he received a call.
‘You need to go back. He already knew.’
He expected that and now that she is in her hands, he had no plans for giving her back. Gunther had to kill him first before he could have her.
Minutes later, Kelly ran back to the room where she was staying. She cried all night and then morning came. She was still sitting in the corner of the room hugging herself. She might not have noticed she slept after all that crying. Then a knock on the door startled her.
“Kelly, are you awake?” it was Harvin’s voice. She just stood there not making a sound.
“I know you are listening. I can hear your breathing. We are going to the city today. As he had said last night, you are to stay here. There’s food in the kitchen and a housekeeper will come later. We will come back after five days or maybe earlier or later. I hope you will not do anything that you might regret later. We have men all over the place. So, you can’t escape here.”
Harvin went down to meet Alexander, who was now giving orders to his men.
“Did she say anything?”
“No.”
He nodded and they went out to his car. He looked to the window of Kelly’s room, then they got in the car and drove off to the city.
News of the incident at Amell’s mansion spread everywhere in the city. It is said that there are celebrities, businessmen, and politicians who are dead. They couldn’t care less about what happened to those people, but he needs to make a statement as one of those who ‘survived’ that situation. Kendrick luckily survived the fire and is now hospitalized. The police were a bit late and many were already dead when they arrived.
Meanwhile, five cars were parked in front of the Genovese building. Armed men came out of the car and started walking their way inside the building. They were stopped at the front door but their leader emerged from the back and pushed their way through and successfully entered the building. According to their car plates, they belonged to Gunther’s men. And now Gunther rallied to his territory while shouting his name.
“Alexander Genovese!”
