Chapter Four

Nicco dropped me off after that happened. I can't still believe he is the person I'd be with, in that kind of situation! Maybe because I think that he is bad, impolite and an asshole.
The last semester in my last year in college went smoothly. There's a lot of activities, like a lot. I also succeeded in my thesis. My GPS went high from 2 to 1! I should thank myself for not letting my problems make another problem. And the day I've been waiting for so long has come.
My graduation day.
I'm so proud of myself. I am not here where I am right now if it's not because of my hard work. Likewise, I did not expect to be the valedictorian of our batch. When the Professors announced the titles, I didn't really expect to be the valedictorian. I should also thank my friends and .. Nicco. He has a big part in those days. He helped me in my studies, he helped me find a perfect topic for my thesis, and he especially helped me to endure all the problems I had. I also found out that he's not serious about his relationship with his girlfriend. Poor Ryssi.
"Let's give a round of applause for our batch valedictorian speech!!" The announcer said.
I confidently walked to the stage.
This is it, Pierre. You will reach your dream as well. I just wish he's here..
"Good day, parents, friends, teachers, mentors, administrators, and of course, the graduating class of this batch." I started. "Well, we did it! We all accomplished one of the major early milestones of our lives. This is a major step in the journey of our lives. We all worked hard to get to this day, and our work did not go to waste. This diploma is a wonderful tool in this world, one that opens doors of opportunity for anyone who is lucky enough to have one." I confided. I looked at my dad and I saw in his eyes that he's so proud of me...
"But graduation is not an end goal in itself, it is instead a part of the larger journey of life. Wherever your future takes you, let it take you somewhere. Life is a journey, and all accomplishments we achieve during its course should be taken as a starting point, projecting us to wherever our futures are meant to take us, whether we land ourselves a career, or take up a trade." I seriously spoke. I just said what I wanted to say. Encouragements, inspirational words, and so on. "Thank you so much everyone. Congratulations!" I finally ended my speech. I got off the stage and sat down again.
The graduation eventually ended. Khianne was so happy that he didn't even recognize me when I approached him. Dad and I couldn't talk anymore because the stockholders said they were still talking.
I looked at the whole venue. I was distracted when I saw Nicco. He's wearing a plain black t-shirt and a black ripped jeans. He's also wearing a chain necklace that make him more attractive.
"Here comes the valedictorian's husband!!" Khianne shouted!
I playfully punched him, "husband my ass."
"Congratulations." He greeted me.
"Thank you."
"Nyeeeehhhhh! Why are you two blushing??" Khianne teased us. Again.
"Can you stop teasing us?! Go back where you belong!" I also teased him.
"Nyeehhhh! Okay, bye!" He then left us.
"You're cute, you know that?"
What? Did he just say that I-I'm cute..?
"Oh!" He pointed to my face. "Why are your cheeks red?"
"H-Huh?" I held my face. No, no, no, I'm not blushing!!
"So cute. Come." He offered his hand to me.
"W-What? Where are we going?"
"Just come with me!" He said. I accepted and held his hand.
He brought me to our university's garden.
"Why here?" I curiously asked him. "Of all places, why here?"
"What? Hahahaha. I just love this place." He answered.
"So, why did you bring me here?" I asked him and sat on one of the benches.
"I want to tell you something."
"Eh? What is it?" I smiled. Even though he looks nervous, he's cute.
"I think destiny is the reason we met." He started. "It's just funny because we were still fighting when we first met. But I didn't expect what happened to me after that."
My face became serious after he said that. What does he mean? Don't tell me...
"Pierre, I know that we're both men, but I just felt it suddenly and unexpectedly." He caressed my hair.
"W-What?"
"I-I lik-"
"Pierre, Nicco, what's up!" Khianne butt in.
"Oyy, Khianne! What the heck?!" Nicco said, frustrated.
I'm still speechless! Even though Nicco didn't get a chance to continue what he was going to say, I think I already knew what he meant.
"Why!? What did I do!!? I just came here to say that there will be an after party later at the bar! Why so angry, huh?! Bye!" He said.
"Wait! Let's go together," I said. Nicco and Khianne looked surprised.
"Wait! What the hell is wrong with you two?" Khianne asked with both hands still raised.
"Nothing, dude. Let's get going." I hissed.
I'm not yet ready to hear what he had to say. And, I'm afraid.
"What the heck?" Khianne complained to me after I dragged him.
"Pierre, what was that, huh?"
"N-No. Nothing. There's none." I assured him. I just don't know if my voice is convincing.
"Hmm, okay. I will just remind you that you should never be lost later in our after party. Especially since you are the valedictorian, ha! " Khianne reminds me.
"Yes. Go ahead. Bye! " I said goodbye and then walked to the parking lot. Dad told me earlier that he might not be able to go home first because he has to take care of something and Nixx is not at home either because he is on vacation at our grandmother's house.
I never saw Nicco again until I got home.
Since 8 PM is the after party time, I slept first.
'Hello? Pierre? Someone is calling you'
My ringtone wakes me up from being asleep. I just changed my ringtone last month. It's my voice.
"Hello?" I answered the call.
"Pierre! Don't be late, okay?? It's okay to be more advanced than late, dude!"
"Argh." I groaned and ended the call. He will just talk about the nonsense thing again.
And, of course, I also don't want to be late, so I decided to take a bath and get dressed. I'm wearing ripped jeans, a striped navy t-shirt paired with a black sneaker. I also wore accessories like a chain necklace and some rings.
I texted Khianne when I arrived at the bar. It looks like Khianne will be hosting this party because not only our batch mates but also juniors are here.
"Everyone!! Let's welcome Mr. Valedictorian!!" He screamed. The people shouted. I just nodded to them all before sitting down to a single table.
Khianne approached me and whispered, "I'm sure you'll be really happy later, dude."
I was supposed to ask what he meant, but he already left. Asshole.
The party went wild. Some people are already undressing in extreme intoxication. Many are also doing the wrong thing.
I also drank alcohol, but I was not drunk yet. Soon someone suddenly sat down in front of me. I can't see him properly because the lighting is dark here in my seat and all he is wearing is black.
"Would you like to click your glass in my glass?"
Woah. It's Nicco!
"Nicco? How come you're here?" I asked.
"Because you're here," he said. And, I think he is drunk.
"Are you drunk?"
"Pierre." He said that in his husky and sexy voice. This is the first time I have heard him speak that way.
"Y-Yes?"
"I like you. And, I want you..."
