Humans are weak and fragile beings, but they have bottomless greed and pride within their hearts.
Since the beginning of time, humans are at the mercy of mother Earth. They feed and leech off her bountiful blessings that give them life and strength. The world can survive without humans - nature is independent, strong, and superior. The animals, the flora, fauna, and the landscapes are the children of mother Earth that help maintain the balance of life.
It was supposed to be a harmonious paradise, if not only because of the corrupt minds and evil intentions of humans.
The moment they came to understand how good the nature can be, they did not wasted any time and start to abuse it. Thinking their race is meant to conquer and reign over the other species, they developed the desire for power and control over them. They have no shred of remorse and guilt as they abuse the children of mother Earth.
They hunt for fun, pride and fame. They torture and kill more than what they need to appease their hunger. They devoid valid reason to justify their wickedness.
For them, lowly and fealty animals don't deserve mercy. They look down at them as if they have no life and spirit.
Therefore, the heavens and the gods decided that the world needs a mediator - they called him the "Arbiter." He is both human and animal that lives amongst us. He is capable of giving judgement to both creatures to come into agreement.
He is a divine creature that was placed by the heavens on Earth. He is the eyes that sees all, the hands that heal, the lips that whispers wisdom, and the ears that listens to all the prayers and cries.
He is powerful, yet kind. He is no one's foe or friend - He is the peace this world needs.
And this is the main reason why humans harbored hatred towards the Arbiter. With him they know they will never be able to obtain greater power and strength. He is a a line that sets them into their rightful places.
However, they found out about the secret potential of the Arbiter.
Thus, the creation of the spirit pact.
The spell on a talisman written using the blood of the Arbiter is capable of binding the animal's spirit and soul to their human tamer or master.
The mankind discovered the immense power they can possess using the spirit pact. They are able to use the strengths, abilities and characteristics of their spirit animal that made them swell with pride and ambitions too great for a human.
They captured the Arbiter and imprisoned him somewhere no one knows.
However, there is something that is certain - he is alive. The spirit pact is still prevalent in the world and it justifies his existence.
The humans on the other hand, started to think that maybe they can be the gods that will bringforth judgement to the other children of mother Earth. Without the Arbiter they are at the pedestal. No one will be able to stop them from reigning over the weak and defenseless.
They will torture the animals and even beasts into submission and will force them to form a pact - leaving them with no other choice but death or slavery. This vile act became common through the years that made humans the villains of the world and nature.
They established their own rules and govern over beings they are not entitled to control.
No matter how big, strong, agile or smart animals are, humans will always find a way or two to capture them.
Their prides are immeasurable, that is why they are not prepared to face the truth - there are greater creatures that are lurking in the shadows, waiting for their moment of revenge.
They are the nine guardians of the Arbiter: Phoenix, Pegasus, Centaur, Cerberus, Chimera, Siren, Kraken, Tsuchigumo and Medusa.
These creatures were forced to be forgotten by humans themselves, for if the truth unveils to the world, humanity will succumb.
Only the Arbiter can summon them and no one knows where they are. Are they afraid of humans? Are they within a deep slumber? Are they watching over us? We can't be certain. However, what the humans fear the most is the possibility that they are plotting for a revolution that will change the course of fate.
Their souls - unconquerable.
