CHAPTER I: LOVEBIRDS

"I love you, honey."
"Aww, you're so sweet, hon. I love you more!" he said in return. He hugged me. I can feel the gazes of the people behind us but I feel my heartbeat more. I-it's racing.
"Did they left already?" he whispered. I turned around and saw them smiling.
"Oh, grandpa, grandpop! You're here. Uh, I-I'm sorry we didn't know," I feigned while playing with my hands.
"No, it's alright. We just can't find you inside so we went here and—ahh, we're sorry to invade your privacy." my grandpa said, "We're truly sorry, lovebirds. We're going now, haha! Enjoy. And Markian, you've got our blood. Yah' know what to do!" grandpop winked at Markian and laughed.
I giggled as they left. They really push us together. I-it was just wonderful. I mean, I kinda like Markian. He's my childhood best friend but I also know that he wouldn't like me. I'm not his type. I was immediately snapped back to reality.
"Finally!" he exclaimed.
I looked at him with confusion, "Uh, I gotta go. I mean, Gracey is waiting for me." he cooed ecstatically.
"But it's already late. Why would you meet her?" I queried.
He just winked at me and grabbed his jacket on the side of swimming pool, right beside me. Right. He's not that popular but he has strong charm that you wouldn't recognize until you began to have a long walk together, or maybe a date. But there's this part of him that I always disagree with. He likes to play someone's heart.
"Hey, Macky!" he shouted and snapped his finger right in front of my face. "Uh, I'm sorry. What is it, again?"
"I would just ask if you want me to drive you home but I guess, I would just do it. Are you just alright? You're not with your usual self. Are you sick?" he was about to touch my forehead but I flinched. I immediately stood up and fell on the pool.
-
"Macky, are you still in the bathroom?" Markian asked and knocked on the door.
"Yes. Why?"
"I'm going inside. Aunt Daughty asked me to buy you some clothes and uh, thing." I heard his foot steps. I was ashamed. Mommy made him buy that thing?!
"J-just leave it there. Thank you." I winced as I felt the soreness on my arm as I touched it unintentionally because of discomfort. Knowing that Markian is out there, holding that thing. Gross.
"Are you just alright? What happened?" he asked.
"It's nothing. You can go now if you want to. I'm sure that Gracey is already waiting for you." I said, unwillingly.
I want to say, "Hey Markian, please don't leave." but I keep it on myself. He doesn't need to know about that.
"Oh Gracey. I told her about what happened and said that I can't go now since it's a little bit dark, too."
I rinsed off the water on my body, from head to toe. There's a long deafening silence. When I was done, I remembered that Markian is inside and I need my clothes. I covered up my body, "U-uh, Markian, can you g-go outside for awhile?"
"Sure, sure."
As I heard the door shut, I stick my head out for awhile to check if he's not inside anymore. When I assured that he's not here anymore, I quickly sneak out of the bathroom and get my clothes.
"I forgot to give you—"
"No! Just stay there—"
I heard the door opened, "Oh I'm sorry. I didn't saw anything. I swear! Cross my heart hope to—"
"Silly, you. I know you won't see anything. I'm wearing a robe." I said and he took his hands off his eyes.
"But put those back and walk out! I'm still not comfortable." I shouted and he followed.
I went on the bathroom and made sure that it was locked. Phew~. He blushed as he opened the door earlier. I just find it cute. Ugh, Mckenzie, stop!
"Wait. My eyeglasses."
It's not that I can't see without my eyeglasses but I kinda feel dizzy when I don't have them.
"That's what I'm holding awhile ago, when I went inside." I heard Markian uttered on the other side. "I-I know you feel giddy when you don't have 'em on but I also know that I should've asked beforehand."
"It's alright, you can go inside now. I'm done." I said and went out of the bathroom.
I felt a little relieved as I was welcomed by the scent of him. My eyes roamed around and I saw him sitting down on the sofa of the hotelroom. I laughed quietly as I noticed that his shirt matched the print of the curtains.
"What are you laughing at?" he queried.
"Is the curtain your twin?"
He immediately went near me and tickled me. "Stop it, Markian. Haha!"
I stopped laughing as I was drowned by his golden eye. As soon as I did that, he stopped tickling me.
"You're really breathtaking."
