Chapter 16 First kiss

Chrismith smiled when he noticed Nica's stares at his lips as he drinks coffee. She is displaying her carefree face that he would often see when she is in his Bar and Resto.
"You want to taste it?" Chris offered her his cup of coffee.
Nica frowned upon his cunning smile. She does not want to ever admit it, but she was exhilarated by his sweet stares and smiles. She also wants her lips on the cup.
"An indirect kiss won't be bad!" a coquettish thought of her.
"No way!" She rebuked herself. She swallowed her own saliva when the young man one again took a sip of coffee. It looks like he did that on purpose and he is provoking her. For the worst part, his stares on her is melting her icy heart.
Chris took a few steps to get close to her and again, make an offer.
Nica just accepted the cup and took a sip straight away without thinking. "Ah, darn!"
Chris quickly took the cup from the young lady and remove the few strands of hair away from her face. "Are you okay?"
Nica turned her face away from the young man and tried to hide her flushed cheek. Aside from being hurt because her tongue and lips were burned, she also felt embarrassed.
"Look at me and let me check it!" his voice was full of authority, but somehow gentle. It brought her a new feeling.
Chris caressed her lips using his thumb. "Does it hurt?"
"Try to burn your tongue and see if it won't hurt." She pretended to be annoyed to hide her true feelings.
Chris just shook his head because of how she acted. He finds her cute, somehow.
"What happened?" Margaret worriedly asked when she saw the lovey-dovey couple.
"The coffee burnt her tongue." Chris was the one who answered as he slowly removed his hand from her chin.
"Why are you so carefree, you little lady? Come here and rinse your tongue with cool water."
"I don't need your worry!" Nica distanced herself from her stepmother and stick beside Chris.
"Nica, don't be hard-headed and let your tongue be treated." Janice supported her mother. Her inner self is so mad because of how Chris worries about her half-sister.
"No, thanks. Kiss is the best medicine." Nica grinned at her half-sister and hooked her hand on Chris' arm.
"Nica, at least give shame in regards of your father!" Margaret rebuked her.
"Why is it shameful when he will soon be my husband anyway?" she sarcastically replied to Margaret.
"Hijo, it's better if you go home now so you could rest as well." That was the only way she could think of to prevent her daughter's dark side from revealing itself because of jealousy.
"Let me accompany you to outside!" Janice quickly offered to the young man when he bid goodbye to them.
"Who's the fiancé here again?" Nica said.
Janice glared at Nica because of her insulting words for her. She immediately changed her expression and smiled at Chris when he looked at her.
"Nica, just let your sister accompany Chris outside and take a rest instead," Margaret tenderly ordered Nica.
"Your daughter needs to rest more than I do. She wasn't feeling well earlier, doesn't she?" she spitefully said against her stepmother.
"Do you really have to always be rude to Mom?" Janice rebuked Nica, she feels embarrassed to Chris. "I'm sorry, you had to witness my sister's rude treatment to my mom." She apologized to Chris when he hemmed. She is aware that they make him uncomfortable with their messed up situation.
"It's okay, I also have to train myself to understand this family knowing that I will be a part of this once we get married." Chris smiled at Janice. "Anyway, Nica's right. You have to rest now." He patted Janice's shoulder to put her at ease.
Janice just smiled at the young man, even though her heart was broken into pieces by the fact that he will soon become Nica's husband.
"Good night, then!" Janice's smile was sweet because she thought of something.
Chris did not expect it when Janice went near him and kissed him in the corner of his lips. But what surprised him the most was Nica, who grabbed his nape and kissed his parted-open lips.
"I just removed the germ that adhered to your lips." Nica grinned at her half-sister. The kiss was quick, but the feeling of it has not yet left her. She could not meet his confused stare, thus she just focused her attention to the mother-and-daughter. It was effective, the embarrassment she feels was replaced by joy when she read the anger on the two's faces.
Chris touched his nape and decided to finally bid goodbye to them. While walking toward the door, he could not help but smile. He licked his own lips. He felt Nica is reluctantly following him so he stopped at the doorway and turned to look at her.
"What?" Nica raised an eyebrow at the young man. Now that it is just the two of them, she felt nervous being close to him.
"I'm leaving." He was serious, but he could not erase his smile.
"Then leave!"
The young man's smile widened because of the young lady's harshness.
"Why are you smiling like that?" She was annoyed by the young man's smile because it only made him more handsome in her eyes.
"Where's my good night kiss?" he slightly stooped down.
"I gave it earlier, it was on the lips so don't be greedy now!"
He laughed, she could read joy written in his eyes. She was utterly mesmerized by him, especially when a dimple appeared on his right cheek. Only now did she find it out, and that added to his sex appeal.
"Then, I'll give you a good night kiss too in return."
Nica could no longer say anything when the young man's soft lips touched her forehead. She frowned, not because he stole a kiss from her. But because she felt disappointment. "What am I, your granddaughter?"
"Silly!" He bent down again and chuckled as he messes up with her hair. "I really want to kiss your luscious lips, but I should not." He winked at her before standing correctly and waved goodbye to their audience.
Chris was no longer in front of her, but she stays still on where she stands. She could not forget his handsome face and the image of him winking. She came back to her senses when she heard the loud steps coming from the stairs. She shook her head before turning to look at the person.
"Are you done daydreaming?" Margaret asked Nica. Her daughter angrily ran into her room because of what she saw.
"It surprisingly feels nice to indulge in a daydream." Nica smirked and stepped toward her stepmother. "Is this how you felt when I was still well-behaved?"
"Do you think you can win against me now?" Margaret angrily said to her. She has been controlling herself to not pull her hair. In the past, she could easily pull her hair when she talks back to her. But now is different because the latter would not let that happen anymore.
"I should ask you that, Bitch." She replied. She laughed as she saw her eyes were full of anger. She raised her middle finger in front of her face and her shoulder strongly bumped into Margaret's shoulder as she passed by her.
"I'll try to take responsibility if you have a seizure, don't worry!" She added before going to her room. She knows she is now trembling with anger and she cannot go berserk because their father is sleeping in the room.
Chrismith did not fall asleep immediately upon arrival at their house. Nica occupies his mind, he feels like it was the first time that he tasted a woman's lips. He has tasted and slept with different women, but the joy he feels when he is with her is different from anything. He wants to get to know her thoroughly and be with her every day. When his cell phone rang, he quickly pressed the answer button, but was disappointed to hear his friend's voice.
"Who did you expect me to be?" Larry teasingly asked him when he felt the disappointed in his voice.
"What did you call me for?" Chris dodged his question by asking a question, too.
"I have been calling you countless times, but you weren't answering."
"I just had an important business earlier."
"Is that more important than Nica?" Larry jokingly said.
Chris smirked even though his friend cannot see it. He does not want him to ask any question, so he did not tell him that the young lady was the business he was talking about.
"What's about her?" He asked to Larry.
"She talked to me." He referred to Nica. Larry told him what he and the girl Chris likes talked about.
"Thank you, Bro! My work will be easier and I'll be expecting a good work from your cousin."
