Chapter 23 James

“Will you stop that? If you're looking for a play toy, not me." He said in his serious voice.
He suddenly stood straight and started walking away.
When he reached the door "Where are you going?" I was surprised that there was an evident of worry in my voice.
"Out." He answered.
"Okay, go if you want to die. Those guns aren't simple, you know. A scratch of it and you'll die, your power can not help you throughout." I tested him.
It's still dangerous outside, the routers are still lurking around looking for a chance to trap him.
He turned around facing me "What do you mean?" He asked blankly.
"Do you think they can't catch you? Oh come on. Everyone knows about your power and if I will hunt someone like you, I will make sure I can... how?" I took steps closer. "Of course I'll use a deadly poison." And I stopped in front of him "Now, I would like to ask." I leaned my face closer to him ignoring the fireworks exploding around my system and the fast beating of my heart. "How can I catch your heart?" I whispered.
I don't know why but I love to see his reaction changes every time I tease him.
I smiled playfully when I saw his eyes widen for a moment. "Get away from me."
Oh ow, I made my future husband mad.
Future husband. So lovely to hear.
I created a small distance and pouted "Is that how you treat a girl who likes you?"
"Is that how prank you are? You sound like you're not a girl." He said seems irritated.
"Tch." I walked towards the wall and sat hugging my knees. "It is not my business to intrude but you should be more careful next time." My voice was soft. "According to my calculation, 12 midnight they will stop searching. So, you are free to go but use the west path." I said and bowed my head in a more comfortable position.
"Why are you helping me?" He asked, his voice was partly soft but still firm.
"Should I say it again?" I looked up to see him leaning on the wall while staring at me with a look that I couldn't decipher. He is difficult to read.
"No, except that part. Is that your only reason?" His voice was pointing out that there is more to it.
Actually, my reason is not to live a widowed woman on this earth.
"That's my reason, believe it or not." I bowed my head once again and just let the time flow.
"What a weird girl." I heard him murmuring until we were swallowed by silence and I didn't realize I fell asleep.
****
I woke up feeling the cushion of my bed then suddenly I remember the event last night. I immediately sat up. "Oh my gosh! How did I get here? Did I sleepwalk?" I asked to myself.
Last night I was in a building with Vincent until I… ugh! I slapped my forehead, how did I fall asleep at that situation? What the heck, Kelly.
I am still wearing my clothes from yesterday so I tried looking back by touching it.
~~I fell asleep. And then suddenly, "It's time. I'm going." Vincent said as he walked to the door but he stopped and walked towards me.
"Were you sleeping?" He asked, amused. When he got no answer. "Tch. Weird girl." He slings his arms around me picking me up bridal style. OMGGG! I should have pretended sleeping! So I can feel him.
What the heck! Kelly! Why did you sleep so soundly!?
He carried me as he ran fast, it was too fast that I saw nothing but him... until we reached my room. Wait! How did he know my room!? He laid me down on my bed and pulled the cover up on me "You are too mysterious. Who are you? What... are you?" He asked in a whisper and then he turned his back as he walked away until his silhouette disappeared.~~
My heart beat so loud that I could feel my face on heat, I am totally blushing! How did he know this is my room? He seems to know where to go, he did not even have a hesitation of entering my room. Does he know the room of every student in this school?
I sighed washing away the thoughts, today is another day... thinking of seeing him again, I smiled.
I don't even care if you push me away Vincent, you're mine.
Our future sealed it and you can't get away with it. I just want to treasure every moment of my life with the person I'll be staying my whole life with. And... okay fine! I like him.
Before I was drawn into thinking more about him, I prepared for my classes.
*Ring*
The bell rang and its time for lunch break. My class has been easy as I got to sit and daydream of the vision Vincent and I shared together.
*Twinkle twinkle little star. How I wonder what you a-*
I really love my ringtone; it always brings back the time when I was a young little girl.
"Yes. Where to?" I exclaimed happily the moment I answered the phone.
"Someone's in a good mood. Hhmm..." Stella mumbled.
"Why? Are you in a bad mood again?" I tease.
"Yup, someone's in a bad mood!" Elena answered, laughing.
"The two of them are getting crazy. It seems like we will see each other at the field. Bye Kelly!" Jenna said sweetly.
"Okay Jen, see you later." And we ended the call.
I walked towards the field and not long after I could see the bench where I will be meeting the girls. But before I reached it, I saw an electric light pass in front of me.
I looked to where it came from to see a smiling James walking towards me.
"Hi Kelly! How are you doing?" He asked.
"I'm doing fine James. Where are the others?" I asked as I searched behind him but strange... he was alone and I'm partly disappointed for not seeing… Vincent.
"It hurts you know, I've been looking for you but you were looking for someone else." He acted hurt but I smiled.
"Why would you look for me?" I asked.
"I miss you, are you free? I would like to invite you for lunch." He asked, scratching the back of his neck in shyness. Cute.
I smiled thinking what to answer, I will be seeing the girls for lunch and I have my word but it will hurt if I reject him because it seems like he came all the way here to see me.
"James, I-" I said but was cut off.
"James." A stern voice called his name. We looked to the side and my heart started beating erratically, surprised to see... Vincent. I felt my system got overload with just seeing his face this morning… I felt contented.
