Call

Chapter 22
ARLENE MARIELLA's POV
Trembling, I took my cell phone out of the bag. I don't know who I called, I just dialed a number there and put it in my ear. I'm still in their room, and I'm still crying from pain. I really can’t handle situations like this.
"Hello, Mariella?" Sterian's voice.
"Sterian..." hearing his voice makes me cry so loud.
"Hey! What's happening? Are you in your home? Answer me!"
"I-i am."
"Stay there okay? If you hear my car's honk, go out immediately, do you hear me?!"
"I-i need you."
"I know... that's why I'm coming."
My heart pounded.
"Don't end the call,"
"O-okay." I nodded even though he couldn't see it. I was sobbing through my room, I locked the doors and checked it first before packing some clothes in my bag.
"Are you still there?"
"Y-yes."
I heard his sighs.
"Sorry for bothering you. If you're busy, then, don't do this—"
"I'm not. I'm on my way, Mariella."
"Take care, then."
I don't know how many clothes that I've prepared, I'm just putting them in my bag one by one. My other important things were placed on my small bag, so, I can get that faster than inside the backpack.
"Sterian, just tell me if you're near. Don't make any noise please."
"Why? Is everything alright?"
"No, just do what I say. And, please don't park the car in front of our gate. Park it 4 kilometers away."
"Okay."
I sighed. There are still tears dripping down my cheeks. I wiped it while folding some uniforms. I knelt, to pick up my black shoes under the bed.
"I'm here, at the park of your village."
"Okay."
When I had everything in order, I slung that backpack over my shoulder, as well as the small bag with what was in it. I left the room without making any noise, I slowly went down to the living room, fortunately, there was no one there. I walked over to the one with the phone, pinning there the letter I had written earlier.
After that I was free to get out, I went straight to the park, and that's where I found Sterian's car. Parked on the side of the court. I ran through him, he left his car and waited for me to come over to him.
He's wearing black slacks, and the blue long sleeves were properly tucked in his pants. He looks like a businessman.
I cried out loud when I hugged him tightly. He hugged me too, caressing my hair.
"Everything's gonna be alright."
"Do I even exist? Or were you just dreaming?" I buried my face in his chest.
"You do exist. Don't you ever say that the beautiful moment is always a dream?"
I hugged him even tighter, I never hugged someone like this, because I wasn't crying at the times I'm hugging them.
"Sterian.."
"Hmm?"
"Am I not good enough? Am I a bad daughter for saying bad things to her? For throwing the past ahead of her?"
"No, you're not."
"How? You didn't even know what I've said to her."
"I know what you're feeling, I know what you have said. Mariella, sometimes, people have the same destiny as you are. Maybe, you and I have the same, but we are choosing a different path. We may think that we're a bad person, but the truth is you're not. You were just saying what you feel, you set free the pain in your cage. You can't handle it anymore that's why you're saying those."
"Will she understand me? Will.. will she forgive me?" I looked into his eyes with my teary eyes.
"Yes, she is. She's your mother, Mariella. Every mother forgives their daughter. She loves you so much." He held my cheeks and kissed my forehead. "You should take some rest." he smiled.
I nodded. He led me to the passenger seat, and he helped me inside before turning to the driver's seat.
He started the engine and maneuvered the car away from the park. I closed my eyes. Trying to sleep, but the radio's song makes me want to sing.
I always needed time on my own,
I never thought I'd,
Need you there when I cry,
I started crying again. I looked up at the sky, the sky was already dark. So many stars, shining bright.
And the days feel like years when I'm alone...
And the bed where you lie,
Is made up on your side,
When you walk away,
I count the steps that you take,
Do you see how much I need you right now?
I opened the window. The cold wind slapped my face.
"When you're gone.. the pieces of my heart are missing 'you. When you're gone.. the face I came to know is missing', too. When you're gone.. the words I need to hear always get me through the day. And make it okay, I miss you..." I sang the song, tears dripping down my cheeks. I didn't wipe it, I just let them drip down.
I fell asleep singing the song. And, maybe, I fell asleep because I was tired of crying. Then my neck opened my eyes, then, I saw Sterian's perfect jawline above me. His pointed nose and red lips suit him. In his Argentine eyes, I remembered Stewart.
"Oh, the princess is awake. Good morning." he looked at me.
"Hmm." I don't know what to say! I remembered what happened earlier, I've been so fragile. Like a child crying because her mom slaps her ass.
"Hmm?"
"W-where are we?" I looked everywhere.
"Well, where is my condo, princess." he smiled.
"Oh, okay. Can you put me down now?"
"Not yet."
"'Kay." I wanted to cross my arms, but I remembered my hands were on his neck! Argh. I'll fall if I remove it.
