Eye

Kaya’s POV
There as a lot of things going through my mind at the moment, of all that happened at the mini-mart on Eighth Street. I finally had the chance to talk to the jerk, well I’d like to think we had a conversation, even though half the time I as shaking half my wits, nevertheless, I was proud of me for getting a few sentences out of me this time. My mind flashed back to the look of those pretty tired eyes, I couldn’t understand how he could look so drained yet so magnificent all at once. One thing was for sure, Azian was hiding something behind that pretty face. It could be the fact that he had insomnia or some kind of other sickness.
As they say, no one’s perfect, even though that statement is extremely hard to believe when you’re staring into the eyes of that Greek god.  Sighing, I slipped a hand into my sleeve jacket reaching for my backpack. I skipped down the flight of stairs with one arm of my bag slung around my left shoulder, while my other hand was desperately trying to smoother out the wrinkles on my jacket.  As I approached the last steps I slowed down hearing voices in the living room. I shut my eyes realizing that Aunts book meeting club had already began.
Being as careful as I could, I quietly tiptoed past the living room arch to the front door, freezing in my place, my hand on the door handle when I heard Aunt Lily calling out my name.
"Kaya, honey!"
I slapped a hand on my forehead, groaning to myself and checking the time on my wrist watch.
With a slight huff, I took two steps back, following the sound of her voice. My eyes widened at the sight of five women seated comfortably on our living room sofas, each with glass of wine, eyes trained on me.
"Ladies,” Aunt Lily smiled, turning to face me, “This is angel here is the darling niece I was telling you about,” she continued with a wide grin.
"Hello," I replied curtly, with a short wave pulling on the sweetest smile I could master.
They all nodded in return.
"Oh, She definitely has your nose," a blond haired woman was the first to comment.
She looked kind enough, her luscious hair falling to her shoulders, and her outfit quite stylish to my utter surprise.
"Yes girl! I told you so!” my Aunt replied with a slight giggle, “you know People don’t get natural noses as good as that anymore, the perfect inspiration for a nose job,” she cackled.
The other ladies including myself chuckled at my Aunts blunt joke,
“Kaya,” She continued after the laughter died down, turning to the woman who had all the style in the world, “You remember Miss Venice, right?"  Aunt Lily asked.
My eyebrows drawled together studying the woman, she looked strangely familiar but I shook my head slowly, I would have remembered seeing such a beautiful lady. I was a hundred percent sure we hadn't met before.
Miss Venice laughed gaily, pulling her hair up, and taking out a pair of glasses.
"You remember me now?" she asked flashing me a stern look.
My jaw dropped. And I felt all my muscles freeze in utter disbelief.
That was our frickin principal, Miss Patterson!
I had met her on my first day at Rodney high when Aunt and I came to finish up the transfer documents. What a transformation, dear lord!
"M-ma-a-am" I stuttered out, “Wow.” I snorted unable to go further.
She let out a heartwarming laugh, taking her glasses off and folding them neatly in her lap.
"Here you can just call me Venice," she offered.
I nodded nervously biting my lip. Oh my word, my aunt was friends with the principle.
"She is quite beautiful," another lady with dark hair and a beautiful pair of blue eyes cooed.
Her gaze was focused intently on me, as if trying to figure something. And so I returned the gaze, there was a secret to figure out about her too, but I couldn’t put my finger on it.
"Ah yes, I know her, " a fourth lady of my color concurred.
I recognized her as our gym teacher, Miss Maria. This was Aunt Lily’s book club? Teachers from school?
Just. My. Luck.
"Hello," I replied politely, tugging on my sleeve that had folded up at the ends.
The first lady with the blue eyes that reminded me strangely of Azian, paused, her eyes still focused on me. "She is-"
"Yes, she is the one," Miss Maria cut her sharply.
The one? What did they mean by that?
"Oh," came the short reply. She suddenly sat up straighter, her eyes seemed to be glowing, "come closer child," the blue-eyed woman called out.
I hesitated at first, not liking this strange behavior. Something about her was not normal. My gaze flickered back to my Aunt, uncertain of what to do, but she gave me a reassuring nod, whilst the rest of the women watched my every move as I walked over to her.
I came to a stop a foot away from where she was seated. She was young, probably in her mid-thirties yet her eyes spoke of wisdom and authority.
"Lower love,"
My eyebrows furrowed at the order in confusion but nevertheless, knelt before the lady. She studied my face for a while, and I studied hers, flawless skin, ageless hair, beautiful aura around her.
She looked like she had a beautiful soul.
Something about her reminded me of Authority, or superiority, dominance, not as much as I felt whenever I was close to…you know who but it was still there. Still very much present.
I gritted my teeth at the thought. What was I thinking?
I felt a soft touch on my face, and my eyes immediately raised to meet hers, her gentle fingers tracing the shape of my jaw. Was this how all Aunt Lily’s friends behaved when they met someone new?
Couldn't help but wonder.
"You have lovely eyes," she complimented kindly, yet her eyes gave out the fact that she was in deep thought, wheels turning in her head for some reason beyond what I could fathom.
The statement was something off putting. What was it with people and my eyes? It seemed to be a good conversation starter. First that Alessia girl and now this strange woman before me.
"These eyes?” I replied, chuckling a little at the compliment, “they really aren’t that pretty, just regular old brown ones," I replied blushing a little when her gentle eyes drowned mine.
"Gold," she countered her eyes finally shifting from me to another woman seated across her. I slightly turned to get a better view of the second woman, she too had almost the same features, blue eyes, and dark hair.
It got me thinking that maybe they were sisters, although something about the shapes of the faces gave out the fact that they were not related or if so, distantly.
There seemed to be an uncomfortable silence in the room, one I felt travel up my spine in a strong shiver, eyes now glued to the blue eyed woman, whose hands still cupped my face.
"Abigail?" Miss Maria called softly to the woman touching my face. Abigail. Her name was Abigail.
Where had I heard that name from? Abigail.
That seemed to take her out of the trance she was in, glancing momentarily at Miss Maria, then 1,at my Aunt then back to me, giving me a soft smile.
"Your eyes, are the most beautiful color in the world,” she repeated, completely throwing my previous motion out the door, "your eyes are golden brown."
