* There's no such thing as failure until you fail to learn a lesson. *

----- Mira ------
The day I met Joseph for the first time would be a day I would never forget.
Though he was the student's president, I never knew him since we weren't classmates and I also wasn't a social person as I often kept to myself... Due to all of this, I never knew him until that day.
That day, during break time while everyone else had gone out for lunch, I was in the class simply staring at my biology text book.
I might have appeared as if I was reading but I wasn't...
I was only using the so called studying as a camouflage to cover up my pain and distract myself from it.
Truth is, it wasn't helping much as the pain in my stomach was becoming too difficult to bear.
Well, I could do nothing than just continue to bear it.
But, as time passed, I could only feel my vision become blurry.
And at that moment when I felt I was loosing my consciousness, I heard a voice, " Hey girl... Are you okay? "
The voice was like the sweetest music to my ears and I couldn't stop myself from becoming hypnotized to it.
" Girl... Are you okay? " I heard that voice again.
" I... " I tried to speak but couldn't, my consciousness was already slipping out of my hands.
And before everything became blank I heard the words, " Hold on.... "
Those words were one that had been keeping me going ever since then, funny right?
So yeah... The next time I woke up, I was in the city hospital and to my surprise I met him sitting by my bedside.
He was dozing off apparently, but woke up sensing my movements.
" You are awake? " He asked me to which I simply nodded.
He brought me a glass of water and helped me drink it.
The doctor came in later on and that's when I realized that I had severe peptic ulcer and that's one of the reasons I fainted.
Well, to cut the long story short, the orphanage was sued for not taking good care of me and so on...
And, I guess after the case was settled they began to pay more attention to my health as instructed by the judge.
And yeah, from that day onwards, Joseph and I became closer.
He often came around during break time to ask about my health and also to sponsor me for lunch.
At first, I refused him as I wasn't a fan of free lunch but well, I soon began to get used to his caring attitude as time went on and we become friends and eventually best friends.
But you know, being friends with the students president is never easy as there are lots of girls who are envious of me due to this.
Some even hated me in the name of me snatching away their crush.
Despite it all, I never minded it and just kept doing my own thing.
And as time went on, I also began to know more about Joseph and that's when I got to know his true life story.
His parents got divorced due to certain reasons, and he was left alone with his nanny.
Though he wasn't abandoned completely though as his parents paid his fees , sent him his monthly allowance and the house he lived in belonged to his dad.
Somehow he was also a victim of abandonment, but thankfully he got a nanny who cared so much about him and loved him just like her own child so he wasn't completely alone.
Perhaps it was due to this that Joseph understood me better.
And I guess this one of the reasons our relationship developed to this level.
It got to a point that I began to see him more than a friend, I began to see him as someone I could lean and rely on in time of needs.
And over time, he had proven to be a great best friend.
He was like a father, brother and friend to me despite he just being two years older than me but you know, I felt that he was a lot matured than his age.
Well... Of course he'll be since he had also gone through a painful stage in his life
You know, when Joseph introduced Vera to me as his girlfriend, I didn't object to it and I was even happy for them.
Despite the fact that I felt a hint of jealousy in my heart, nevertheless my happiness wasn't affected.
But after I overheard Vera's conversation with her friends, I felt very angry at myself for trusting her so much.
And when I was still thinking of how to rescue Joseph from her evil claws... The scandal Happened which threatened my friendship with Joseph.
And till now, I haven't found ways of saving it yet.
But one thing I know is that I am not ready to lose my best friend.
Never!
No matter what it takes, I am More than willing and ready to fight!
.....
A/N : Interesting isn't it?
Take care.... y'all
