Dahlia
It was Monday morning
I stood in front of my mirror examining my hair,Jenny had styled it for me.It was usually hard for me to pack my hair since it was so long,so I always did a messy bun but Jenny had said that if I wanted to keep my job,I needed to have a clean one and that was what she did.Gracie and I went clothes shopping during the weekend since all I had were casual clothes, so I had to buy clothes that were appropriate for a office job, that morning I wore a long black trouser and a cream shirt that I tucked neatly into it,I used a belt to sort of sinch it together and wore my new pairs of black loafers courtesy of Jason. I wore some stud earrings and I didn't always dress up but Everytime I did i always felt pretty. Someone knocked and I muttered a "come in"
"Wow....look at my boss lady" Jason said jokingly as he entered.
"Oh stop" I replied flushed.
"How do I look?" I asked and he walked closer and pulled me into a small hug.
"Like you always look, fucking georgeous" He said then pulled away.
"They're gonna love you" He said and I smiled and then my heart stung,mum would have being proud of me too,she would have pulled me into a warm hug like Jason and told me about how pretty I was.
" Hey hey,what did we say?" Jason asked snapping me out of my thoughts and holding my hands tightly.
"No thinking bad thoughts" I replied with a smile.
"Exactly" He stepped away from me and sat down on the bed.
" Shouldn't you be on your way? It's almost 9am" He says and my eyes widened in shock
"Wait what? Why didn't you tell me?" I asked packing my bag in a panic as I ran out of the house.
" Do you need a ride?" Jason called after me
"I'm not going to pull up in your beat up car on my first day Jason" I replied still running
"Fuck you!" I heard him shout as I giggled and tried to find a cab.

I arrived at the building at exactly 9 am,I stood in front of it to admire it and take it in for a minute,I even took a picture of it on my phone.It was fucking magnificent.I walked up to the receptionist as I entered.she gave me a warm smile,I felt the urge to take a picture of her as well..I shook off the thought.
"How may I help you?" The lady asked in a soft voice.
"Huhm,I'm Dahlia Cooper,the new secretary" I replied and she narrowed her eyes and sort of examined me
"Oh...for Mr Michael?"She asked,I didn't know who that was but I assumed that must be it so I nodded.
"3rd floor,you'll find someone there to help you out" She finished and turned away from me so I guess that was my sign to leave.I got in the elevator and got to the third floor where a woman was seated in front of an office,she looked me over-why was everyone examining me?
"Dahlia Cooper?" She asked and I nodded.
"Welcome to the firm I'm Jessica" She said and gave me a fake smile,I was in a great mood so I smiled back..
"Okay I'm pretty busy so we have to hurry,this will be your desk right in front of mr Lancaster's office.." she started getting right into business.
" You will direct his clients to him,collect his bag every morning and also help him open his door,you will do everything he needs you to including and not limited to getting his coffee" She said and gave me a look like she was expecting me to complain,but I just maintained my smile. Getting someone's coffee was a piece of cake compared to everything I had to do before.
"You must get here on time,do everything promptly without complain and please for fucks sake..do not flirt with him." She finished and that last part sort of caught me off guard.
"Do you understand?" She asked and I nodded.
"I need words miss Cooper"
"I understand" I said firmly and she nodded.
"Good,now let's go meet him" She said and we walked closer to the office,and she knocked,my heart started beating a little,I was feeling so many things, nervousness and excitement all at once.A low voice replied "Come in" I swallowed and subconsciously adjusted my shirt. Jessica opened the door and entered,I followed her the person sitting was bent over typing something his hair was black,jet black and it was short and wavy the kind you would want to run your hair through,he looked up at me and I lost all composure,the man was attractive, I sort of realized why Jessica had to remind me not to flirt with him.Not that I would have done it regardless.He took one look at me and returned to work,like he didn't care,like I was a fly on the wall.Ouch.
"This is Dahlia Cooper sir, she's the new girl" Jessica inputed.
"She's late" He said and I swallowed.
"I'm so sorry, it's my first day and I didn't check the time correctly,it would never happen again" I said apologetically and he looked up at me again,this time more intensely like he was upset with me.
Oh fuck he hates me
"Get here on time if you want to keep your job miss Cooper" He finished and then waved us both out with his hand.
"Don't worry,he's like that to everyone" Jessica said as soon as we got out and I chuckled.
"I'll call one of the guys over to come take your picture for your ID, I hope we enjoy working together" She said finally and walked away and I fell into the chair.It was happening,it was finally happening! Jessica came back a few minutes late with two guys and they took my picture then she returned an hour later with an ID card.
"I have never seen a more attractive ID card in my life" Jessica said as she passed me the ID card.I held it tightly in my hand hoping that Jessica doesn't see just how much this meant to me.
"Thanks Jessica" I said with a smile.
"Oh no no no, thank you for rescuing me from the guy" She replied and we both laughed.she taught me a few more things I needed to know before leaving, apart from taking care of the things Jessica was doing before,I didn't do much throughout but I had a bright smile on still because this was a dream come true.The landline next to me rang and I answered it.It was the voice from earlier.
"Bring the file on mr Rogers" He said and hung up, this guy was completely readable,I knew the type of guy he was,he just seemed like one of those attractive rich assholes,I got the files he wanted because thankfully Jessica had shown them to me and entered the office.Then I dropped the papers on the table.
"Anything else you want me to do sir?" I asked and he just stared at me silently for about a minute it before finally speaking.
"No" I nodded and walked out.
