Chapter 4 Is he a Demon?

Tell me, what could be more heartbreaking? I know left for me alone I never would've wanted this marriage to happen but it did happen anyway and now prince Liam is my husband so any form of disregard from him was heartbreaking. How could he even think of taking a second wife when he had not learned to live with the first one.
Prince Liam made his way into our bedroom leaning on a girl and when I asked who she was, his response sent a shock to my entire body.
"She is my second and real wife." He said.
What? How can he even say that to my face? I couldn't say a word, I just ran out of the room with tears in my eyes. I was raised never to challenge a man no matter what he did and because of that I never really learned to handle tough situations and it crushed me.
I went to the king and queen to report what had happened to them but they did not seem to be the least embarrassed by it at all.
"That should not be enough reason for you to cry." The king said after I narrated what had happened.
"Oh Nardin dear, you poor little princess. Didn't your father tell you all of these things? A man can take in as many wives as much as many concubines as he pleases." the queen said sweetly but very annoyingly.
"He did but I thought it should at least be months after his first marriage." I said.
"Yes but in a case where he does not love his wife, he can take in another woman that same day." The queen added.
Disappointed by the response I got from my father and mother-in-law, I walked away and decided to spend the night in the guest room once again.
The next morning I woke up to a loud banging on my door.
"Nardin...!" Prince Liam's voice called out through the other side. "Nardin..!" He kept banging the door.
I fearfully rose and opened up the door to come face to face with him.
"Why did you leave your room last night?" He asked.
What? Was he talking to me? I was surprised.
"I.. I... You had... You had a guest." I stammered.
Prince Liam scoffed "and you left?. Well, I'll have you know that she is not my guest... She's..." He said but I didn't let him finish before I interrupted.
"She's your real wife. You said that already." I said.
"What? No. She's a one-night stand. She's gone so you can come back to the room. Thanks for the privacy though. I had a spectacular night."
"My prince you disrespected me as well as you violated our marriage vows." I complained.
"Listen Princess you have no right to question me okay." He added before he left.
Although his last words were annoying, I don't know what it was but I felt like a boulder was just lifted off my shoulder but I wasn't exactly happy, after all, he still disrespected me. But why did he call her his real wife last night? Was he drunk or something? But I could've sworn he sounded like he meant what he said.
Well well, thinking I've been faced with a lot of problems lately, I decided to go outside though it was getting dark already. Maybe to the garden or somewhere else. I just didn't want to remain confined within these palace walls. It was getting tiring and boring so I for the first time left my chambers and did not head towards the king and queen's chambers. I simply stepped out of the building and into the palace compound. I was beginning to feel free at last. For days now I've been squeezed and squashed inside prince Liam's room and finally I get to look around the palace and admire its beauty. It was such a beautiful palace.
I went to the fountains to admire the beautiful waterfall which was one of the beautiful features that made king Albert's palace stand out from every other palace.
I smiled and sat down on one of the beautiful rocks, I had no friend to talk to. I didn't get a personal maid and honestly talking with different people each day was tiring and we didn't talk as friends. I admired the waterfall and every other feature around there.
I was thinking of prince Liam taking a second wife and me never getting a chance to hear children of my own. Why didn't I just run away from home? Or maybe I should just pack my bags and leave because very soon prince Liam will start making babies with his concubine just like his father.
'Hold on, thinking about it now where are prince Liam's brothers? I thought rumors had it that king Albert had several other sons and daughters with his numerous concubines. Did he not bring his children into the palace like my father?' I was thinking to myself but I suddenly got distracted by some movement in the fountain. I peered carefully to notice the queen was also quietly sitting at the other side of the fountain and probably took no notice of me like I didn't of her earlier.
I smiled and wanted to head towards her to maybe sit next to her and discuss when I noticed a guard come up to her.
"Your majesty? Last night was no different. Lady Nina is dead." The guard said.
'Who's lady Nina? And what happened last night?' I wondered.
The queen looked pale and weak. "I thought he finally overcame his demons. What could have possibly gone wrong?" The queen said.
"I thought so too your majesty, but lady Nina's corpse looked like she was attacked by the devil himself, it's a horrible sight to behold." The guard said.
The queen sighed "you can't let anyone know of this, not even the king or his wife princess Nardin." She instructed.
"Okay, my lady." He bowed and left.
What? Could lady Nina be... Oh no. What is prince Liam really? A demon? A devil? No doubt he's the one the queen speaks of. What has my father gotten me into? Is prince Liam even a human? Or a demon?
