I've been working here at home for two weeks for a job that my twin had left. I called her secretary, who was also talkative, but she would still have to be approached.His boyfriend and I were talking to each other in a short period of time because he was so frantic. We only speak at night but only once.
Terylene, my twin's secretary, spoke up as I was concentrating on the computer.
"You should be the boss rather than Mom Thena." Terylene commented as she gazing her eyes in the monitor.
I just looked at her, feeling at ease eventhough she can be loud at times. She is also kind and dedicated in order for us to get along and have no conflict. She is an extroverted woman.
Tery murmured, "I figured out you're friendly unlike your identical twin who is prickly."
We finally got back to what we were doing after a few minutes.
Then I noticed the watch I was wearing, and Greige popped into my head. "Wait, Ma'am Thaea," she said as she noticed me getting up from my chair.
"I'm leaving, so you must take care first this. I should go elsewhere." I replied.
"Are you going to meet Sir Greige?" she inquired, but I simply nodded in response.
"Alright, Ma'am Thena. Goodbye and stay safe always." she said as I fled the room.
I dashed into the kitchen, where Yaya Helena and Daisy were preparing our lunch.
"I'd bring food for Greige; I didn't think he'd eaten yet," I said, picking up two lunchboxes on top of it.
"I guess you should eat before you take this food to him." Yaya Helena suggested to me but I disagreed.
"No, Yaya, we'll just eat at his office together," I explained, and she quickly agreed.
I started the car and drove to the insane man's office.
It's a bit far from our house so that I'll make the trip in twenty minutes.
First, I greeted the security guard. He did the same to me with a smile before I entered the building.
As I went through inside, I asked the receptionist, "Can I meet with Mr. Wexford Greige Escorial?"
"I will call Mr. Escorial’s secretary if he is available. Please wait a minute, Ma'am. " As the she responded to me at once.
"I'm Athena, a Greige's girlfriend." I introduced myself, before she dialed the phone.
I sat down to rest for a few moments before the receptionist called me. She mentioned that I could go to Greige's office right now.
"What are you doing here?" he asked, a surprising reaction from him. Because his attention was focusing on the computer, I couldn't tell if he was frowning or not.
"I brought food for us because it appears you're hungry," I said gently to him.
"I didn't tell you to come here to deliver me some food," he said bitterly, which surprised me. I've seen him like this before.
I mustered the courage to speak up and approach him again, "I know you're hungry, so I just brought some food. You don't have to bother going out, either at the office or to order your meal." Preparing our lunch while leaning against his side.
"No need; just go away!" It stopped me of what I am doing by his retorted answer.
"You must eat this because I know you’re hungry there."Trying to insist again and asking myself why I’m doing this to him.
"I said, go out." He shouted and showed me the door to get away. "Just leave me alone."
He closed his eyes as he exclaimed. Then I exited his office as well.
Our maids noticed me crying. They worried and tried to ask, but I just hesitated to answer them. When I reached my office, Terylene saw me and she asked me too of what happened with worries about her reaction.
"What's going on, Ma’am Thena? Why are you crying? " It still did not answer her.
"You can take care of this first, please. Before you go home, just call me right away in my room. " As I instructed her, what she would do then walked out of the office and went up to my bedroom.
Why did it get me offended by his treatment? I don’t know what mistakes I made with him to treat me like this.
I just laid down on my bed, hugged the pillow, and closed my eyes until I fell asleep. It woke me up suddenly when I heard someone knocking on the door. I immediately stood up to open it. My eyes saw that Terylene was bringing me some food.
I took the tray she was holding and thanked her. "You are welcome, Ma’am Thena." She replied with a smile and gave me a USB with a copy of our work.
"I am leaving now, and kindly text me if there’s a problem with the file." I nodded in response.
I heard that a phone was buzzing and tried to look at Thena’s phone to check if it was ringing, but I made a mistake. However, my phone which is actually and I get that from my cabinet. It was my best friend. Gin unexpectedly appears on the screen, and she looks surprised at my face.
Gin:What’s wrong with you? Why do you seem like you cried?
She asked curiously while observing me, and that made her shake her head. *
*Me: I don’t want to tell you this, but you must promise me that you won’t tell Zen. I assured you that when he knew it, he might suddenly come here.
Gin: Don’t tell me...
Hey, Beshie, it’s not just about what you are thinking of, OK? I would not let that happen.
She thought I was pregnant. No way.
Gin: What is it exactly happening to make you cry? **
I told her the reasons. She couldn’t help but frustrated with Greige about how he treated me. **
Gin: Why don’t you come back here and leave that now? It seems you are the only one who has experienced a hard time. Where were your parents then?
Me: I can’t leave them here, and the company will lose us. They also worked hard on it for many years when we were young and all the money spent on our education came from the company. *

Me: I say it'll be fine. I understand you, but they are still my parents. Even though, we are not treated equally. *
*Gin: I understand, Beshie. What if Zen sees you like that? Surely, he wondered.
Me: I'm going to fix this first after I eat this snack. *
*Gin: Alright, you may eat. See you again. *
*Bye. *
I had finished eating my snacks when I made a call to Zen. Trying to fix myself, it seems nothing happened before I started to contact him.
Zen: How are you, Althaea?
Me: It’s fine. You?
Zen: Here I am tired at work that have done so much. I missed you too. When are you coming back?*
I stopped the tears from coming out of my eyes. I'm the same way.
Me: Every day, I wish I could return to that place and be with you again.I miss you more, hubby.
I really miss my boyfriend. I want him to hug me in his arms and be with me again. Then, we will sing our love song.
*Zen: Hopefully, Thaea. I hope when you come back here. You'll assure me that still the one you love and still the man you want to be with.
Why is he telling me this? Appeared in my mind, the awkward scene that happened between Greige and me. I already lied to him twice, and it hurt me. However, this might be better to keep as a secret than hurting him. *
*Me: What are you saying?
Zen: I’m just telling you what something might happen to Althaea. It could be possibly inevitable since that is where we started then.
*Me: Impossible! You and Greige are different. You are the most sincere, caring, and sweetest guy I ever met. *
Zen: Thaea, I am really hoping for it. It hope me that we are still in the end.
He looks sad as he speaks, so I can’t help but worry about him.
Me: I promise that hubby, you're still my love.
Zen: Don’t promise, Althaea. I might get hurt first, even more when it happens.
He was about to speak when I heard a man’s voice calling him.
Zen: All right, hubby, my co-worker is looking for me.
I said goodbye to him too afterwards and put the cellphone back in the drawer.
