Day 4 in hospital. I am still here, wondering if when my mother is going to wake up.
I miss her and I wanted to talk to her. It's been 4 days and nothing good was happening.
Plus, I am not available all the time just to watch and guide for my mother.
I want her to wake up and forget these events.
My schedule is to go to school and to complete my activities.
I told Sammy that I need to go to our school, and assured her that I will bring her activities and projects.
Randomly, I saw Sapphire walking in the hallway carrying books, “Give it to me, I will carry it for you.” She looks stunned.
“It's heavy,” I added. I saw her cheeks turning pink. She's blushing. She handed me the books, and we started to walk.
“How's your day?” she asked.
“As usual, nothing that much happened for now,” I replied. My shoulder slumped.
“How about your mother?” I'm not comfortable when they were asking me that question.
“How did you know?” I interrupted her.
Her eyes widen, and her jaw dropped a bit.
“Because I saw you getting inside to room 014.”
“That's it?” She nodded. I shrugged my shoulders and remained silent.
“Good morning, here are the records of the top students in the present school year,” she said to the dean.
The dean checks the records, I recognized two familiar names, Sammy, and Zoe Amethyst.
“Where is Sammy?” I glanced at Sapphire.
“She's in the hospital, together with her Aunt.” The dean nodded.
“You can go now, the class will start soon,” the dean said with a cold, and blank expression.
We're heading to the classroom as of now. Something caught my attention. A group of students is gathered at the corner.
“I thought, they already caught the culprit.” I heard the two students gossiping. My curiosity hits me, so, I go to the crowded.
“Zhian!” Sapphire shouted. Ignoring her is the key to satisfied my curiosity. I saw a girl lying on the floor, and it's in her blood.
Hence, there is a knife attached to her head. How? In just a blink of an eye, they have already done that kind of thing?
It seems like, they already planned it. At the exact time, and date when the students are already inside the classroom.
I saw a piece of paper, inside her pocket on her vest. What is that? I wonder, what are the words they wrote there?
They already reported it. A few minutes had passed, the investigator is here.
He wore gloves and starts searching or analyzing the body. They already put a police line, that says, “Do not cross.”
All of a sudden, someone tapped my shoulder.
“Hey, I'm searching everywhere, ” she said with embarrassment.
“Let's go, we need to do something important than this. The dean ordered us to deliver these papers to the provost.” As expected, I saw Zoe Amethyst. She looks gloomy.
Her eyes are weary as usual, and her lips are in line. Why? I don't know if this is just my hallucination, but I saw the words on that piece of paper.
It says, “Seeking too much can lead you to your death.” Beads of sweat are dripping down in my face.
“Are you okay? What's wrong?” She starts to scan me.
“Your hands are trembling, those papers might fall,” she added, “By the way, I thought the appointed dean would bring these papers to the provost?” I'm puzzled.
Why? We, the students are not responsible for this. These are the dean's one of their responsibility. Correct me, if I'm wrong, but that's my thoughts.
“Our dean has something to do, bringing these papers is one of their responsibilities, but they are human too,”
“They encounter so many struggles, and sometimes they need help,” she explained.
“These papers are the student records, and their academic grades and some are the new enrollees.”
“Can I read Amethyst records?” Since her records are at the top, I can read them without releasing, or falling of papers.
Her grades are high, as expected in a clever, and kind lady. But, something caught my attention. There's missing information about her. Her family member's names, especially her parents.
We reached the provost's office, Sapphire knocked three times until they allowed us to enter their office.
Provost fills the role with the chief academic officer, they help the president to develop school policies.
They were also managing the school budgets and faculty decisions.
Deans are responsible for coordinating activities with specific divisions or departments.
They support the need when it comes to achieving academic goals. Deans typically have experience as faculty members or lower-level administrators.
We stay at their office for a while, the people in here advised that we should wait for their signal. I just shrugged my shoulder.
Honestly, their kind of discussion makes me feel bored and sleepy. Nonsense.
30 minutes have passed, they went inside the private room. I think, they held a meeting for a while. About what?
Sapphire is eavesdropping. I know, it's not fine to eavesdrop on others, especially when they are talking about some important things.
“Hey, come back here, you might catch up in no time,” I whispered. She didn't listen.
Stubborn too, huh? I smirked, let's see what will happen.
“How about Zoe Amethyst? She's already deceased,” I heard a man with a snippy voice told his team.
“She was a top student, no one can replace her.” I think, his voice is like a mid-20s man.
“I'm not fond of it, it's impossible!” someone exclaimed. I bet, his reaction is cannot be described at the moment.
“We must find a smart student that can think faster than she can! Can work better than her!”
No one can replace Zoe Amethyst. The door suddenly opened.
“Sapphire, come back hurry up!” She turned back immediately and sat down beside me.
“Kindly, tell Sammy to come here tomorrow,” their personnel said. We nodded.
It seems like they have a plan for Sammy. I went to our professor, then Sapphire went back to her room.
“Thank you, sir!” I exclaimed.
He gave us our activities, and I decided to go back to the hospital since I already passed our excuse letter.
