Chapter 2 VERNAL EQUINOX

CHAPTER 2
“It’s so not you to ask like that Inta. You already know.” I said.
“Yeah I do. But.. are you sure that you can handle the situation that you’re about to go through?” I nodded since she’s looking at me.
“Ako pa, I know I can make it work. Well.. I’m actually not so sure about that but I’ll do my best. I’d been craving for a family that I can call my own and I will strive and endure just to have that.” I winked at her making her smile.
“Well then.. sige. Tsaka wala na rin naman akong magagawa, bukas na ang kasal mo. At ikaw?” She looked at Autumn.
“Well I’m positive that I could raise a child alone. And I want twins, triplets maybe?” Abot tenga ang ngiti niya.
“Sana pwede yung ganun.” She then pouted.
She already has plans for her future, she’s the type to picture things out inside her head and fix it when one seems not to fit.
“I mean, maraming Nanay ang hinahanapan ng father-figure ang mga anak nila.” Said Inta.
“Well, I am not one of those moms—future moms. My child won’t be needing a father-figure, I will make sure of that.” She said then lay on the carpeted floor.
Inta suddenly stand up from the couch, “I’ll go get pillows and blankets, dito nalang tayo matulog para masaya.” She then winked kaya natawa ako, nag-iisip bata na naman tsh.
“Ready ka na bukas?” Bigla ay mahinahong tanong ni Autumn, her eyes were closed.
I move towards her and lay on her right side since Summer is on her left near the couch. “They say you’ll never know when you’re ready. Makikita mo nalang ang sarili mo sa isang sitwasyon kung saan walang lusot at walang kawala.” I said staring blankly at the ceiling.
“So this thing wasn’t really your decision, yeah?” Naramdaman ko ang paglingon niya sa akin, “Yup,” I answered, still looking at the ceiling.
I felt her move again and on my peripheral view we’re now both staring at the ceiling. “I figured. Gusto mo lang rin ng baby pero wala sa plano mo ang pag-aasawa o kahit na sinong kalahi ni Adan.” Natawa naman ako sa pananalita niya.
“You’re right.” I sighed, “pero itatali at itatali nila ako, wala akong kawala. Might as well make the most of what could be done while being stuck in this situation.” I said.
“Also, I really want to be a Mom, and in the past few days that I’d been thinking I figured that it won’t hurt being also a wife.” I added.
“Well.. I hope that it won’t.” Dagdag ko ulit saka natawa. Wala akong ideya sa kung ano mang papasukin ko, I’ve never been in a relationship and so wala akong clue. All I know is that I’ll do my best to be the one whom my future husband will be needing.
“I hope so too. Ang bilis ng mga pangyayari, noong isang araw lamang ay nagpaplano tayo ng pagbalik sa Batanes and now ikakasal ka na lang bigla.” She said. “Ayokong masaktan ka.” She said again which made me teared a bit but later on I chuckled.
“Wag mo ‘kong tawanan, you’re my Ate. You’re Spring and I’m Autumn. I’m your other half. Your supposedly opposite but turns out to be the one who’s the most similar to you.” She said seriously.
“Ily.” I sincerely said para tapos na kaagad.
“Mn.” She nodded as a reply. Tsh, kahit kailan. Similar daw, psh.
“Oh, mga unan.” Basta nalang ibinagsak ni Inta ang mga unan sa mukha namin.
“Grabee.” I uttered ridiculously sabay bangon. I now have the urge to be playful, I suddenly felt energized.
I smashed my pillow back to Inta na inaayos ang pagkakahiga ni Summer kaya naman napadagan siya kay Sum. Pinandilatan n’ya ako.
“Pillow fiiiigghhhtttt!!!” I heard Autumn shout before I felt my face turned 90° medyo masakit siya he–he.
“How dare you, you made-of-honor!” I said but then ang hinampas ko ay si Summer na pupungas-pungas na. She was dumbfounded, her mouth was wide open. Biglang-bigla sa pagkakahampas ko.
“How could you.” She said, there’s no bearing in it, she’s in awe, hindi makapaniwala, natawa naman ako, she’s so cute. Mayamaya ay nagpalinga-linga siya. Inta’s nowhere to be found near us kaya inilibot ko ang paningin ko. She’s holding two pillows, andaya.
“Yah! Akin iyang isa!” Summer said, frustrated. Nang akmang lalapit siya kay Inta ay tumakbo ang huli that’s why she had no choice but to grab the throw pillows in the couch. But then she grab all of it kaya naalarma ako bigla.
“Sayang, hindi matigas.” She uttered sabay tawa.
“Hindi ‘to pwede.” She muttered as she leave the living room.
Minutes passed and we’re shock to see Sum back, with throw pillows that’s dripping from water.
“And now,” she looked at what she’s holding, apat na throw pillow iyon na basang-basa, pinaghirapang basain since foam ang loob nun na hirap mag-absorb ng tubig.
“Pwede na ‘tong panghampas.” She grinned then run towards us that’s why we also started running away from her, desperate for an escape, all are in panic.
She really takes things to another level! I caannoott!!!
And that’s how we spend the night before my wedding day.
After an hour of chasing each other like hell, we've gathered on the kitchen and eat everything that we could as we spoke about random things in our life, our goals and dreams that we have achieved already and still plan to achieve, how far we are now from where we came from, the hardships, the dramas, all the challenges that we have survived and just how four seasons run like a cycle.
We ended the night with a bottle of wine. Thankfully we aren’t the type to get drunk with just one to two glasses of liquor, and so after we finished a bottle, we change our clothes because we became all wet by Sum’s doing, and then after that the four of us lay altogether in one bed hoping for a better tomorrow.
Well.. I hope there’s a better tomorrow.
God, we have suffered a lot already. Please, do things according to your plan. Make us wise enough to know what to do, guide us, give us strength, and please light our path. Thank you.
Thank you for reading. <3
