CHAPTER 1
“This doesn’t seem like a bachelorette party, this seems like a sleepover. Yung totoo? Ito na yun like legit? Isang beses ka lang ikakasal Spring.” Tila nanghihinang umupo si Summer sa couch.
No one heeds her any attention though, Autumn continued eating a bread that is stuffed with spaghetti while watching her favorite anime. While Winter and I.. well.. Winter's been lecturing me since I entered their pad about my decisions in life so yeah.
There's nothing much happening really, this one’s supposed to be my bachelorette party slash bridal shower or whatever you call it and it’s just the four of us which is what I prefer.
The four seasons, I, Spring which is the bride to be. Summer, the one who keeps nagging about what my bachelorette party seems like. Autumn, my made of honor, who is still like a grade three student, eating spaghetti with bread making it look like it’s a sandwich, well.. it is a sandwich, spaghetti sandwich, while watching her all time favorite anime which is Naruto, I wonder what episode she is at now, I couldn’t count how many times she watched it, Naruto and Naruto Shippuden both. Lastly is Winter, the one who’s been lecturing me. Yeah I know, she’s just concern, I admit that I suck when it comes to making life decisions.
We are in the lounge area of Winter and Autumn’s unit. The three of us, Winter and Summer is seated on the couch while Autumn is on the carpeted floor. Even though there’s still a space in the couch, she wants to be seated on the floor, that’s just her.
“I have a problem. I don’t want to wear that kind of dress Spree.” Autumn suddenly said after her spaghetti sandwich’s last bite.
She turned off her laptop and rest her head on the couch where we sit, facing the ceiling. Closed eyes and seems to be figuring things out inside her head.
“Let’s switch dresses then.” Said Summer.
Autumn opened her eyes and twitched her head so she could face Summer. “Yeah?”
Summer nodded, “Yeah, no problem.”
“Thank youuu!” She gives a playful flying kiss to Summer and then back to resting her head on the couch, facing the ceiling. She sighed while there’s a faint smile on her lips, “I’m sleepy.” She suddenly said. “Just keep on talking though, my eyes are the only one that’s sleepy, they’re strained again I guess, it’s also hurting a bit. I’ll just rest them, keep on talking.” She added.
“Tch. Para namang nakikinig ka kanina.” Summer flicked Autumn’s forehead.
She chuckled a bit while touching the part of her forehead where Summer flicked her. “I do. Kaya nga uulit ako ng tatlong episode, back to 177 ako, wala akong naintindihan, I kept on listening to Inta’s lecture.” Then she laughed. “Parang Nanay.” She added then laughed again like a child. The four of us is of the same age but she’s the youngest, months difference.
“Well, by blood, I am the oldest,” Winter reasoned out. “I’m the one who’s supposed to scold, nag, slap your butts, pinch your ears, flick your forehead and do other things when you’re making decisions as if you are a one year old child.” She said, eyeing me.
“Well, to me this isn’t a bad decision Inta.” I said looking at her while I hear Summer sighing and murmuring, ‘This really doesn’t seem like a bachelorette party aigoo.’
A faint smile find it’s way to my lips. She’s sulking and even mimicking Autumn’s expressions. She moved down the couch and sat beside Autumn, copying the latter’s position and leaving me and Winter alone in the couch.
Nang hindi siya nagsalita at nanatiling nakatuon lamang ang mga mata sa akin ay nagpatuloy ako, “Well, I do want to have a baby.” I simply reasoned out na para bang napakadali lamang niyong gawin at wala ng iba pang dapat na isaalang-alang.
“And since I’m already 26, no suitors, dying to have a baby, this decision for me isn’t really that bad at all.” I added.
“Wala kang manliligaw dahil hindi ka nagpapaligaw.” Tila sumasakit ang ulo na sabi niya.
“Well.. Yeah, that’s actually it. But I really don’t want to be courted by someone, to be pursued, ayoko.”
“Same here.” I heard Autumn said. “So cringe.” Dagdag n’ya pa, at kahit pa nga nakapikit siya ay nagsalubong ang mga kilay niya na tila ba ayaw talaga sa ideya na mayroong nanliligaw sa kanya.
“It would just be a waste of time, a waste of money, a waste of energy, and everything that could go to waste. It will all just gonna be wasted. Tsh, I’d probably just undergo artificial insemination someday.” Autumn again.
Nagmulat siya ng kanyang mga mata at hinarap kami, she’s hopeful, nakangiti rin. “What do you guys think? Agree kayo?”
Nang wala ni isa sa amin ang tumugon ay nagbaba siya ng tingin, “Well, that’s what I’d been thinking recently. Kapag 28 na siguro ako. I would probably do it.” She said and then again look at Winter and I since Summer seems to have fallen asleep already, tsh, ang lakas ng loob maghanap ng proper bachelorette party e bagsak naman sa pagod sa trabaho ang katawan. Mabuti na rin na hindi na nag-organize ng kung ano, makakapagpahinga pa silang tatlo, they rarely gets a proper rest.
“Psh, both of you, why so desperate to have a child huh?”
“It’s so not you to ask like that Inta. You already know.”
Thank you for reading. <3
