CHAPTER SIX (ACHILLES HEEL)

It took three days before Nathanya was discharged but during those three days, her wounds didn’t heal that much. It still hurts her when she tries to walk on her own so she had no choice but to use a wheelchair. On the day of her discharge, Taylor was not there.
“She said she has something to do so can’t come,” Briana explained and Nathanya can only sigh.
“There’s a restaurant outside. Let’s just take out food. Don’t even think about cooking Briana! I am warning you.” Lace warned Briana that made the other person’s face red.
“That was just an accident...”
“What accident? Just to let you know in case you can’t remember. You have almost burned our kitchen every time you try to cook. And you broke three rice cookers, one after another. How can that be considered an accident? In anyways, you will not cook and we will just take some out. Period.” Lace finally decided and pushed the wheelchair where their patient was sitting. Nathanya can’t help but shake her head and chuckle a bit with the bickering of these two. Compared to Taylor who seems to only have two emotions, anger, and somewhat sadness, these two were like normal people. They bicker and fight all they want but don’t act like this in front of Taylor due to the fear of being executed on the spot if they’ll do so.
They were just about to enter the restaurant when a cold, monotone voice suddenly spoke behind them.
“Once you enter there, I will burn it down.” The voice said and as they turned their head, a pair of phoenix eyes met them.
“I cooked. But if you want to be roasted, enter and I’ll set this place on fire.” She warned so who can say no to that? The three can’t believe her. She’s unpredictable just like the weather. And just when did she start tailing them without them realizing that a statue is following them. They followed her to the car and since Nathanya can’t walk, for now, she was carried by Lace for her to be able to enter while Briana folded her wheelchair and put it in the car trunk. After Lace was able to put Nathanya on her seat, she was just about to sit as well when she felt shivers down her spine, like someone is glaring and stabbing her back using their eyes. She then turned around but no one is there so she turned her gaze forward and there she found out who was glaring at her. She flinched a little and felt uncomfortable. She silently leaned forward since Briana was seated on the passenger seat and she was sitting behind her. She slightly tugged Briana’s sleeve and the latter understood her without asking. She chuckled a little and caressed the hands that tugged her sleeve.
Due to some bumps on the road, it took them almost an hour before they finally reached their dorm. It was clean as usual and the smell of food was still there which means Taylor just finished cooking when she went to the hospital to pick them up.
“I will just reheat the food.” Lace presented and immediately went to the kitchen, still feeling the shivers. Why was Taylor glaring at her like she just stole something precious from her? She can’t help but steal glances but every time she does, she’ll be met by a pair of phoenix eyes with fire raging in them.
After the food had been reheated, Lace and Briana prepared the table and called the two after they finished setting the food up. The glares had disappeared so Lace let out a sigh of relief.
“Ate Lace, are you okay?” Nathanya asked after she saw the sigh Lace had let out. Lace can’t mutter a word so Briana was the one who answered instead.
“She was fine. She was just silently murdered into someone’s mind, that's why she’s like that. She’s fine so don’t worry about her if you still want her to live until tomorrow.” She said and chuckled lightly as she patted the trembling hands of Lace. On the other hand, Taylor just buried herself with the food she cooked and didn’t give a damn on whatever the three were talking about. Her eyes were cast downwards, revealing her feather-like eyelashes that suit her phoenix eyes very well. The three continued eating just like that.
“When will we start moving? I can’t wait to crush the bones of that arrogant lady.” A lady wearing an arm sling said and even made a gesture of crushing using her hands.
“Just wait a little bit longer. Let’s focus on her Achilles heel first. I find her interesting so let’s play with her for a while, then let’s proceed with the protector.” A man sitting in a seat that is elevated said. He then gestured for someone to come forward and a man with a slit mark on his cheek came forward.
“Send someone to tail and monitor the lass. Don’t startle her for now. Just watch after her.” He ordered and the man nodded before leaving the room. The man sitting then turned her gaze to a lady sitting in a wheelchair.
“How’s your injury?” he asked. The lady looked at him and said it was much better now.
“You don’t have to worry. Her legs were reserved just for you.” He said as if trying to comfort the lady.
“And her arms were mine.” The lady with the arm sling butted in.
“That’s why I like you all very much. You are all fierce and ruthless.” He complimented and leaned back to feel more comfortable with his seat.
“Everything will happen at the right time. Focus on the traps for now and we’ll do the hunting later. It will not take that long and she will not have another choice but to surrender to me, beg me and love me back. I can’t wait for that day.” He muttered and smiled as if he just had the best imagination ever.
