"...Who are you?"
Mira's face turned white pale as I blurted out that question. She had a confused and worried expression plastered all over her face.
"M-My Lady, w-what do you mean?"
Now I'm feeling guilty for trying to act this out. But this is not just for mine but also for your own good, Mira. In order for my plan to work and go smoothly, I need to do this.
The first thing listed on my plan is to change the image of Cassia Clorance in the eyes of other people.
And that's when the "I can't remember" issue comes in. I just thought that making people think that Cassia had a memory loss would low their doubt if Cassia were to act differently or nicely towards them.
Kung ipagpapatuloy ko naman kasi na maging si Cassia Clorance lang at bigla-bigla na lamang magbago ang attitude ko sa kanila, they might take it the wrong way. I may act out of kindness, but they might take it as if I'm planning something evil behind my actions - which would just make everything worse and complicated.
And so to begin with that first plan, the Clorance manor staffs will be my starting line.
Since I will be living with these people for the rest of my stay in this world, it would be better to have a nice relationship with them.
The things I would do just so I could change this fucked up fate of Cassia Clorance. Well, this is the second life that God had gave me. Even though it fucking sucks to be given the role of the villainess - who would tragically die at the end of the story - I have no other choice but to make a move to change this ill fate of mine.
"My lady. Can you really ... not remember who I am?"
I snapped back to reality when I heard Mira's voice. Her voice was shaky and it was as if she was on the verge of crying.
Hindi ko akalain na magiging ganito si Mira dahil lang sa hindi siya maalala ng amo niya. Hindi ba niya naaalala na kahapon ay sinisigawan siya ni Cassia? May nararamdaman pa ba siyang sama ng loob tow
Hindi ko lubos na akalain na magiging ganito ang reaction ni Mira just because the lady she's serving doesn't remember anything, including her.
But doesn't she remember what happened just yesterday with her and the original Cassia? According to Cassia's memories, she happen to shout and even broke a couple of things in front of Mira.
Doesn't Mira hold any grudge or resentment towards Cassia?
Not that I'm wanting to receive a cold and aloof attitude from her though.
"I'm sorry ... but I can't really remember anything. I even also don't remember my name, neither is my age. All of your faces doesn't seem familiar to me. I'm really sorry."
I said that all with a sad expression and tone of voice.
And because of that, murmuring voices of maids started circling around the whole room. Napayuko na lamang ako and can't hide a smirk that was form from my lips.
"My Goodness! Could it be that the young lady is experiencing amnesia?"
"That could be it. Don't you also find it weird that the young lady didn't even throw tantrums earlier like she always does?"
"Right? And she even apologized! Not just once but she said the word 'I'm sorry' two times!"
"Indeed, I was also taken a back by that. And didn't the young lady just spoken with a soft tone of voice?"
"I can't even remember when was the last time she had spoken that way. She was always shouting and yelling so it oddly feels new."
"Yes it does really feel weird that the lady is acting strange. It was as if she became a different person."
"Could this be a sign that the young lady has hope on changing?"
"Don't let your guard down. That is but still the villainess young lady."
"That's right. We never know when she'll starts becoming violent again."
I was still enjoying myself on listening to the gossips of the maids when a man in his mid 20's came inside the room running in sweat.
Hmm. To my guess, he most probably be the said physician called by one of the maids. And I was right as when I saw the maid named Camille beside the young man.
"This is Sir Giorgio Bourbon, my lady. He's a physician who happens to be around the area." Camille introduced the young man beside her.
The young man named Giorgio then bowed his head.
"Greetings, Lady Clorance."
Tumango lamang naman ako sa kaniya at saka pinagmasdan ang itsura niya.
Oho! I must say, Sir Giorgio has the looks of a fine young man. There was no Giorgio Bourbon that was mentioned in the novel that I've read and there seems to be no information of this guy from Cassia's memories so I really don't know who he is.
"Camille, how can you let this man, who is a stranger, enter the Clorance's manor when we aren't even sure if he's really a physician?"
Agad na napalingon ako kay Mira nang marinig ko siyang magsalita. Looking at Mira right now, she seems to be in a bad mood. Well, she is looking - or should I say staring at Sir Bourbon as if the man in front of her was the most despicable person in the world.
Bahagya na napataas naman ang aking kilay. What's with Mira's reaction? She knows very well that the man in front of her is a nobleman, right? It's obvious with how that person was dressed. He even has a medical bag carried by his right hand.
"But Miss Mira-"
The maid, Camille, was cut off when Sir Bourbon then walked forward. To be exact, he walked towards Mira. And now, Mira and Sir Bourbon are staring at each other.
Mira who's glaring daggers at Sir Bourbon, and Sir Bourbon who's just looking at Mira with a composed look. But I was surprised as when he stopped in front of Mira, he then smirked.
"Shall I give you my full background information then, Miss Mira Vargas?"
But I was more surprised when Mira rolled her eyes. Did she just really...
"Why would I need that when seeing your face says it all, that you aren't a trustworthy person."
Nag-crossed arms naman si Sir Bourbon. Just what the hell really is going on right now?
"Oho! But I am indeed and a licensed physician, Miss Vargas."
Sasagot pa sana pabalik si Mira kay Sir Giorgio pero hindi ko na kaya pang tagalan ang manood sa pagbabangayan nilang dalawa.
Marahan kong hinila ang laylayan ng damit ni Mira dahilan para matigilan siya sa pagsasalita at agad na mapalingon sa akin.
Wow. I can't believe her expression changed so quickly. A moment ago, she was as if ranging fire but now she's looking at me with that soft expression on her face.
"Ahm... What's going on?"
"Ah! I beg your forgiveness, my lady. Please don't pay any mind to this person. I will call for another physician who's more suitable and more trusted to check on my lady."
"Hey! Aren't you being too much?"
"Can't you stop talking?"
And now they're talking informally to each other now, huh?
I really don't get why these two are acting like that towards each other, there might be a reason and a story behind all of that.
But for now, I need to stop the both of them from bickering. If this goes on, it would take forever for them to finish.
"Mira... that's your name isn't it?"
Mabilis na naagaw ko naman ang atensyon ni Mira nang ako ay magsalita. And as I look onto her eyes, it was as if there were sparkles.
"Yes, my lady. That is my name."
Napahawak naman ako sa aking baba, na para bang nag-iisip ko.
"Hmm. Sir Bourbon looks decent enough, Mira. You don't need to look for another physician. Let him be the one to check up on me."
"But my lady..."
"Don't worry, Mira. It's fine." I said then smiled at her afterwards.
"If that is what my lady wants."
Nakayuko ang ulo niyang sabi at tila pa'y pinaglalaruan ang kaniyang mga daliri. She even whispered something but I didn't hear it.
Lumingon na lamang ako sa direksyon ni Sir Bourbon who was looking at me with a strange kind of look. Napataas naman ako ng kilay.
What could this guy possibly be thinking?
