They bid a farewell after the discussion, and Rue is on her way to a restaurant. Gino texted her to ask if she is available for dinner and proposed they meet at their usual restaurant.
Rue arrived in Jaco Dinner at 7 in the evening after a few minutes of driving, it is a classic restaurant where they had eaten since they met.
"Did I bother you? " Gino asked, he stood up at his chair and withdraw the chair in front of him for her.
"Not really, I just visited someone for an old case." She replied as she seated on the chair that he had laid out for her.
"That's good to hear. I already ordered our usual food." Gino remarked as he returned to his seat.
Rue nodded, she crossed her legs, and sitting with straight back.
She was sipping her juice peacefully when her phone rings, she immediately took her phone on her pocket and answer it.
"Why? "Rue questioned calmly over the phone, she returned the glass on the table, looking at Gino with apologetic eyes due to the unexpected call.
Gino just smiled at her to express that it's fine with him, he nodded in assurance.
She softly returned Gino's smile. Every time he's with him, she can manage her poise.
"You called me. I just got back from a crime scene and left my phone on my table," Althea said all at once.
"Hmm. I will just ask you to send me images of the crime scenes from every case you have given," She simply said, without blinking her eyes.
"Sure. By the way, where are you? " She diverted her gaze to Gino, who is now busy fiddling with his phone. She doesn't dare to read Gino's mind because she respects his privacy.
"I'm with Gino, why do you ask?" " She replied, still looking at him.
He raised his head as he heard his.
"I'm jealous. I should have invited you to have dinner with me sooner." Rue managed not to roll her eyes and instead sniggered at what she had heard.
"So childish." she just replied and chuckled.
"Here's your order, Sir and Madam," Their lunch had arrived and was being placed on their table carefully. Gino quickly mouthed "thank you" to the server so that it will not interrupt Rue's conversation.
"Anyway, enjoy your dinner with your lover boy. You have to have to eat with me next time, okay?" She can picture Althea pouting her lips, she surely heard the waitress, it's voice can be heard over the phone.
"Hmm. Just have dinner with your colleague." Rue agreed, she hang up the phone and put it inside her pocket.
"Who was that?" " Gino questioned calmly, intently looking at her in the eyes. For the kind of stare that he's giving, she would assume that he is jealous.
She chuckled. "It was just Althea. I asked her for some pictures for a case." Rue explained as she gets the knife and cuts her beef steak with an elegant manner.
"The one you visited before you came here?" He followed his question, also started eating his food on his plate.
"Yeah." She simply answered and took a bite. The taste of the food is indeed delicious, its meat was tender and juicy, the flavor of the beef melts on the mouth as it's chewed.
But for Rue, the taste of blood is more flavorful to taste.
Gino merely nodded and resumed on eating. Only the calm jazz background music of the restaurant can be heard, and both of them are eating their food appropriately.
"Althea came to my office earlier in the morning and give that case." She opened up, after they finished eating.
"How was the case?" He questioned as he looks at her, wiping his mouth with a table napkin.
"It was just a normal case for deaths, except for the last one." She said with interest, also wiping the side of her lips with table napkin.
"What do you mean?" He asked confusingly, his eyebrow met and took a sip on his glass.
"Every case happened within three consecutive weeks with pattern on every situation." She explained, taking a sip on her wine.
"We found it odd, I already visited the first two case." She continued.
"So did you find anything?" He inquired curiously, his eyes still on her.
"I still didn't find anything that tells it as a murder. I just have to check the last case." She clarified as she meets his gaze, drinking her wine in her glass.
A waiter removed the used plates and brought a dessert to their table.
"Do you want me to go with you?" He offered to her with a soothing voice.
"I can manage, you also have things to do." She replied and smiled at him.
He would always ask her to go with her whenever she has something to inspect, but she also considered that he's a busy man that's why sometimes she declines his offer.
"I'm free tomorrow in the morning until afternoon. I can pick you up and go with you." He insisted, with a warming smile, reassuring her.
"No. It's okay, really. I don't want to disappoint you when I received an emergency case. " Rue chuckled and take a bite on her dessert.
She remembered the days when she has to leave him on their date because of her sudden call or cancel a plan with him.
"Okay then, just always take and don't forget your health." He suggested and eat the dessert on his plate, it's a small slice of chocolate cake.
"Yap, noted. Don't overwork yourself as well. " She smiles sweetly to him, he's sweeter than the dessert, she thought on her mind.
They finished eating and now taking a break, the music didn't make the atmosphere awkward but romantic.
"Let's go?" Rue invited him after a few minutes and they stood up. They are now heading to the exit, while she is holding unto Gino's arms. Gino accompanied towards her car.
