My eyes flutter open as the sound of my alarm gets louder and louder, the ray of sunshine peeps through my curtain, I reached out for my phone to turn off the alarm. As I sit on the bed, stretching out a loud yawn escapes my mouth
"I need to get ready….Just five more minutes" I rubbed my eyes before slamming my face into the pillow and drifting back to sleep.

"Racheal." a high deep pitched voice yelled which frightened me.

"Ugh….I’m up" I instantly said into the pillow before I slowly sat on the bed, rubbing my eyes with the back of my hands
"Good morning," I said in a sleepy voice as I slowly opened my eyes, I turned around and no one was in the room. I blinked twice before Alice walked into the room
"Hey, girl."

As I opened my mouth a yawn found its way out "How was the party"

"Two words, crazy fun," Alice said as she grabbed her book and kept it in a bag

I stood up from bed and stretched a little bit before I entered the bathroom. Quickly after taking a shower, I wore a blue sleeveless cotton romper and a white canvas. I briefly combed my hair, and applied lipgloss before I grabbed my bag "Bye Alice" I said as I walked out of the room
I have been waiting for this day, a day without mom yelling my name from the corridor, telling me to get ready for school. A day I earn a couple of bucks with hard work and most importantly a veggie-free day, no Brussels Sprouts or lettuce for breakfast or dinner.

Once I entered the lecture hall, I took a sit at the back, I don’t want any attention on me, and when I say attention I mean my lecture asking me questions on topics I don’t understand. As I took a sit and was arranging my books when the lecturer walked into the class.

The first class went well mainly because I wasn’t asked any questions. As I glanced at the clock which was hung on the wall across the room, I rapidly stood up and began placing my books inside my bag.
"Oh lord, I’m gonna be late" I muttered as I exited the class

"Hey, you dropped this," a soft voice said
I turned back I met a student who looked elegant with her black hair styled into a sleek ponytail, her ocean blue eyes, and her pink heart-shaped full lips, from her dressing it was obvious she was new in town as she wore a shimmer and lace dress with black flats that have a giant bow on it.
"Oh mine, I had no idea I dropped that. Thank you" I said as I collected the paper from her hand
"I’m Racheal... Racheal Miller”

"Amy Wise."

"Nice to meet you, Amy," I said as I kept the paper inside my bag and was about to walk away

"If I may ask, why are you in such a hurry?"

"I have a job interview today, actually it’s not exactly an interview, I applied for a job at the cafeteria"

"That’s nice, I wish I could do that, my parents would never agree to let me do anything. College was a tough but compulsory decision for them"

I stared at her till she finished the sentence "Oh wait, you’re serious about that"

"Indeed, I am"

"Oh wow, I thought my mom was a control freak," I said with a bit of laughter in my voice.

"I’m gonna head to the cafeteria now,"

"I’m also going there, haven’t eaten breakfast, I hope you don’t mind me walking with you"

"Not at all," I said

Amy seems like a nice person but I can’t lie it kinda looks like she spent her life in the 1900s. Her way of talking was different, I know it's weird to judge her when I just met her but damn talk about that flat shoe she’s wearing.
"Is this your first time here, I mean is this your first day?" I asked

"Indeed it is."

Did she just use the word ‘indeed’ to answer my question?
"Okay, it’s my first day too."

She smiled at me as we continue walking, I turned around and looked at her, I was about to talk when I saw someone from afar staring at me, I could see her face but it wasn’t very clear as she stood far away from me. "Is she staring at me or Amy?" I mumbled

"Did you say something?"

"No, I was just wondering who that girl is staring at," I said as I glanced at the girl

"Who?" Amy asked

"That girl over there," I responded while pointing in her direction.

"There is no one over there."

"What are you talking about?" I said as I looked in her direction, she was gone.

"Is there a problem?"

"No, I thought I saw a girl staring at us but it seems like I was wrong."
That girl was standing right over there staring at me a minute ago and the next she was gone.

Once we arrived at the cafeteria, Amy took a sit and I walked to the counter
"Excuse me."

A pair of cold deep blue eyes turned around and looked at me, he wore a blue shirt and topped it with a black apron, his blond hair was covered with a hair net.
"Hi, how may I help you," He said in a slightly deep calm pitch

"Racheal Miler, I’m here for a job interview."

"Oh what took you so long, you are hired." He said almost immediately

Did he just say I’m hired without asking me any questions or even discussing my payment?
"I know what you’re thinking about right now but save it for later, we have a lot of work on the ground." He said

"Okay" I responded

"Come with me, I will show you to the staff room, you can keep your bag there."

We entered the staff room and he brought out an apron and a hair net.
"Here is your hair net and apron, you are in charge of the counter." He said as he walked towards the door.

I stared at the hair net, my hair is too perfect for it to have a hair net on it.

"Hey" He snapped his finger "I know what you are thinking about, but you have to stop staring at the hair net. My hair is perfect too but.." He paused when he heard his name being called from outside the room "Be quick." He said before he left the room

I wore the apron before I continued staring at the hair net "I have no choice." I whispered as I wore the hair net.

"Hey, newbie can you please hurry?" I heard his voice

Did you just call me a newbie? Yes, I’m new but he didn’t have to announce that to everyone.
"I have a name and I already told you what my name is," I whispered as I walked out of the room
