My Special Date With Dr. Randy.
I tried to be civil and quiet throughout our journey to the restaurant on a date with Dr. Randy. I remained smug, holding myself from misbehaving. I kept on convincing myself that he is a brother in Christ and that's why I was going out with him.
"You are very beautiful, Derin." He broke the silence but I nodded but could not verbally reply.
My heart was skipping and could no longer be silent. Guilt overwhelmed me, though I tried to shrug it out but to no avail. The inner voice would not let me be.
"Is there anything you want me to know, Derin? I must confess that the journey is becoming boring." Dr. Randy blurted out. He became uncomfortable too because of my behavior.
"Listen Dr.Randy I am not at ease at all. I don't date men. I only agreed to go out with you because you are born again." I managed to talk.
"You are unnerving me, Derin. Now that you have agreed, can you please calm your nerves and let's enjoy our outing, or else I will make a turn and take you back!" He replied disappointed in me.
But the thought to please him was stronger than ever. I made up my mind to drown the inner voice of warning.
"Common, don't be silly, let us go out, after all,l you are my brother."
"Now you are talking. Let's go on then."
He smirked and looked at me, and I also screamed out. His face was enchanting and I had a butterfly in my heart. I wanted him to hold me in his warm embrace and kiss away my fears.
"Dr. Randy, where are we going?" I asked.
"Stop calling me Dr. Randy, please! My name will do!"
"Okay Randy, can you answer my question then."
"I'm taking you out on a journey of no return."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean that we shall be bound together and forever, my dove."
Your dove? Journey of no return? My thoughts went riotous.
We soon got to an exquisite restaurant in Kensington. As I wanted to alight, he touched me and told me to hold on to him.
"Don't you ever go out without me opening the door for you? You are my lady and must be treated like a queen." He told me with a grin.
He is so charming and made my heart jump up for joy. Courteous, loving, and every lady's dream.
He rushed out to open the door of the vehicle. I came out feeling on top of the world.
He held my hand as we entered the restaurant and we settled down to munch. Randy's eyes were on me throughout the meal. I was almost suffocated by his gaze.
"I noticed you are not eating your meal?" He asked with a smirk on his face. Only God knows what was on his mind. It's like he has just gotten a new conquest and was proud of himself.
"Hmmm, I'm not hungry." I managed to speak but it was not true. I was only getting suffocated by his aura. He is highly revered and respected and to be seen in his company is great. My body desired him to be my man. I'm also seeing it as revenge. I was so much taken in by his charm and beauty that I never knew when Isaac came into the same restaurant. My head was bent as I took some spoons of rice.
"Oh Randy, I have been looking for you?" Isaac exclaimed, sounding happy to see him.
"Hi dude, how on earth do you know where to find me?" Randy declared with a grin on his hot and handsome face.
"Aren't you my man?" Isaac uttered.
"Sure dude. How are you doing? let me introduce you to my fiance." Randy declared.
I looked up to see Isaac and when he saw me, he became forlorn and furrowed his face. But I braced up to stretch out my hand as if I had never met him before. He called me fiancee though I'm not. I was somehow happy to hear it.
He took my hand reluctantly and managed a smile.
"Nice meeting you beautiful lady." Isaac recited
"Glad to see you too, Isaac," I muttered.
Randy looked at my face and then at Isaac's face and he reacted,
"Have you two met before?" He inquired.
"Of course yes, Isaac is my childhood friend you know," I answered quickly to show that there is nothing between us.
"Yes my pal, she was my beautiful crush back then." Isaac enunciated.
"Oh! I see. That's good then. Now she is fully mine, pal. I hope you will never compete with me." Randy implored.
"Well, not anymore. She is all yours now!" Isaac retorted.
We all laughed and the atmosphere became lively as Isaac and I exchanged pleasantries.
When I reached home, I could not sleep. How come Isaac released me easily like that? Does it mean he never loved me? I thought I should be thinking of Randy and his affection rather than the thought of Isaac in my mind as I kept tossing on the big bed till I slept off around 1 am.
I woke up around seven in the morning with my phone beeping.
"How was your night sweetie?" It was Randy that called.
"It was fine, thank you," I replied, though it was awful. But I couldn't tell him.
Then it dawned on me that my heart belonged to Isaac. How come he was calling me sweet names when he had not proposed? I'm sure it is not the will of God for me to marry Randy. That was very clear to me.
I discovered that I followed him because I was lonely. There was a void in me that I wanted to fill. He is a good guy but not mine. I was also carried away by his charisma and position.
What should I do? I became confused.
