Capítulo 2 Prologue 2 –The model, The Student

- Ace Models International Agency -
“One more shot,” said a photographer to the model who was posing in front of him. “Ok. Done.”
“Thank you very much,” said the model. He proceeded to thank all the staff for their hard work for the day. “Thank you everyone.”
“Well done everyone! Good work!” The manager appeared and clapped his hands as he came closer to the model. Instantly, all the lightness and ease was blown from the manager’s face once he came face to face with the model. “Are you ok? You look pale.”
The model was pale but breathing steadily, his enigmatic eyes closed. “I’m ok,” murmured the model. “I’m just tired. I had a strange dream lately.”
“Hurm? A dream? About what?” asked the manager, a little awkwardly. He guided the model to the nearest sofa for the model to sit and rest. “Wait. Did you dream while you napped on the sofa?”
“Well, no, not like that,” the model was murmuring. There were many people in his dream, and he thought he should remember them but he barely remembered any when he woke up. It feels more real, it feels as though he was conscious in the dream. But he could not remember anything. Could it be it was a lucid dream; half awake, half asleep.
“Maybe you are just too tired,” said the manager. “Ok. Ok. I know you have worked hard,” sighed the manager, looking a little bit guilty for making the model work too hard. But it was all for the sake of the model’s bright future. “Just a few more shootings in a few days. After that you can take a break.”
“Really?” the model squeaked. It was one of his dreams to go on vacation after winning a competition for a three-year contract with Ace Models International Agency. Since that, this willowy model moved to the city for easy access to jobs and his agents and had been working hard every day to build his career.
“Yes. After we finish shooting soon, you can take a break and go anywhere you want to go.”
“Really? Really? Really?” exclaimed the model. At last the manager was finally making an effort to let him have vacation and he was actually excited about it.
“Yes. Only if you do your best. Hahaha!”
“Ok! No problem,” promised the model. “Can you help me arrange the trip?”
“Trip to where?”
“Anywhere that’s nice and not so crowded,” muttered the model. “The less people there, the better it is. I want to go alone.”
“Why do you want to go alone?” asked the manager. “You sure you don’t want to bring a special one?”
“Err. . . I have no one. I just want to rest alone. Haha. . .” said the model. ‘Because I don’t have any friends. . . Because I don’t have anyone,’ thought the model with a sad face and decided to keep it to himself.
“Ok. I’ll arrange that,” grinned the manager. “Now, go back to work!”
“Yes! Thank you very much!” squealed the model. ‘A trip, eh? I hope it will be fun and interesting,’ thought the model.

- National University of Art –
“Congratulations! Congratulations on your graduation!”
The day that every student was waiting for had come. It was a graduation day and the happiest day for the college students in the university. Happy faces could be seen from the students and the family, except from one student.
“Congratulations on your graduation day,” said the student to himself.
He walked around the college, looking at other students and their family with a sad smile. When he felt tired, he sat on one of the benches and then he walked again until nightfall.
“What should I do now?” the student asked himself as he entered and looked around his dorm room. All his belongings had been packed since he had to move out the next day. All graduated students had to pack their belongings and move out of their dorm at least a day after the graduation day.
“I wish this day would never come,” he sighed as he looked at his backpack. All his books and other belongings had been donated since he did not need them anymore after graduation. It was more like he could not take all the stuff with him since he did not have any place to go.
He lay down on his bed, staring at the wall. “Where should I go tomorrow?”
Things were not going to be easy for him since he was an orphan. Things did not all that bright for him but he made it through the night. He had survived his days in his university well. And no one can say he did not try.
He had used all the facilities that university could provide as much as he could. The university, the dorm were his home. Now he had graduated, he had to move out and he had nowhere to go. He had no one, no home, he had nothing.
“I need to go. . .” he mumbled as he was about to fall asleep. “. . . Somewhere where I belong. . .”
