Capítulo 1 Prologue 1 - The Voice, The Doctor

- Somewhere -
“I’m so bored . . .”
“Every day is the same thing over and over again . . .”
“Is there anything interesting to do?”
“I’m so lonely . . .”
“It will be more fun if there’s someone else here . . .”
“Perhaps I should invite someone . . . No. . . No. . . It will be too obvious. . .”

“I should attract them and make them come by themselves. . .”
“Someone who is as lonely as me . . .”
“Lonely and sad soul . . . Come to me . . .”

- Jahseng Hospital of Oriental Medicine -
The notion that the fresh breezes, dappled sunlight and fragrant greenery of a garden can be good and gazing at a garden can sometimes speed healing from surgery, infections and other illnesses. On this sunny beautiful day, lots of patients went to the hospital’s garden with their family or hospital’s staff.
Somewhere in the far corner of the garden, in the shaded area, a doctor was sitting there alone, staring at empty space. The doctor who failed to save his patient for the first time. The doctor who failed to save his grandfather.
“There you are!” shouted a small man who was running to the doctor. The doctor turned his gaze to the small man and looked at him up and down as he came up panting, slackening his pace as he approached. “I had been looking for you everywhere.”
“Oh, Jill! What’s wrong?” asked the doctor, surprised to see the man, Jill was looking for him. “Why are you looking for me?”
“Nothing. Just want to check on you,” replied Jill, catching his breath. He was panting heavily and his heart beat erratically. He had been running around the hospital, trying to find the doctor. “You still feel down, aren’t you?”
“I can’t help it,” sighed the doctor and turned away. “I lost my grandfather.”
“It's been a week,” mumbled Jill, trying to find a word to cheer up the doctor. “And it's not your fault. You tried your best to save him.”
“But I failed. . .” whispered the doctor. His face was depressed and gloomy. “He is the only family member I had. Now he is gone too.” He dressed and went to work every day but instead of returning to his duties as a doctor, he often wandered or sat in the hospital’s garden, feeling depressed and exhausted.
“You should take a break. You need to clear up your mind,” suggested Jill. He really hoped that the doctor would consider it since he had no idea what else he could do to cheer up the doctor. The doctor was a good doctor and Jill was worried a long term depression would affect the doctor’s performance in the future.
“I’m taking a break,” said the doctor with a small smile on his face.
“Hahaha. . . I mean you should take a leave for a while,” Jill chuckled. The small smile was the largest he had seen on the doctor’s face since a week ago. “Go visit your parents or something. You should rest and enjoy your life a little bit,” he said. ”You never take a leave, right? Always working.”
“Thank you. I don’t have parents or other siblings.” The doctor sighed deeply. “I don’t have anywhere to go.”
“Oh. I’m sorry,” mumbled Jill, regretting what he had said. The idea came to him suddenly. “How about going on a trip somewhere. I’ll help you arrange it.”
The doctor looked at Jill, thinking about his suggestion. “Then how about my work? My patients need me,” snapped the doctor. He nodded, concerned gaze on Jill’s face.
“Don’t worry about that. Leave them to me!” grinned Jill. “I might not be as good as you, but don’t forget, I’m a doctor too.” They sat silently thinking for a time before the doctor smiled and nodded at Jill. Jill screamed excitedly and hugged the doctor. “Now tell me what kind of place you want to go. Beach? Island? Mountain?”
“Ok, if you say so. Hmm…” The doctor thought hard about where he would like to go. He was not a fan of going on traveling or vacation. He never even dreams of taking one. Being asked where he wanted to go was one of the hardest questions he needed to answer.
“I want to go to a place far from this busy city. Somewhere nice, not so many people, somewhere so relaxed. . .”
“Ok!” exclaimed Jill, fast as he already had a specific place in mind. “I’ll arrange that. You will surely like it!”
“Thank you, buddy,” the doctor muttered in response. “I owe you that.”
“No problem. That’s what friends are for,” said Jill and gave the doctor a hug. “I hope you enjoy your trip soon. Now, let's go inside.”
“You go first. I want to stay here some more.”
“Ok. See you later,” waved Jill and the doctor just smiled.
‘A trip, huh?’ thought the doctor after his friend left. ‘That sounds interesting.’
