Chapter 5 - I'm Doomed

Keelan's POV
We were on our way to Eurivin's workplace when Mirim informed me about my targets. “Master, Eurivin and her match are on the same area.”
“Screw her match,” I uttered with a disgusted face as I shoved away the clouds, they were blocking my way. “Screw these clouds!”
“Master, do not take out your anger at the clouds. You will encounter them all the time while we are in the sky, and that is absolutely normal.”
I sighed. “Please don’t add up to my annoyance, Mirim.”
Mirim apologized, and after that, the silence throughout our flight made the wind cooler as it blew against my face, making my curly blond hair tangled that made me think, 'should I just cut my hair?'
“Master, can I ask you a question?”
“Go ahead.”
“Are you really matching her to another man?” Mirim asked.
I sighed. “That’s right. Already told you that.”
“Master, I hope you know what you’re getting into,” Mirim trying to make me reconsider my decision.
“I know, don't worry about me,” I said as I landed on the surface and finally reached our destination.
I went straight into the café shop where Eurivin was working and observed her and the place. Her uniform was long sleeves in dirty white color, it had the name "RW Cafe" in black stitches on the left chest. She was also wearing a black cup, making her look more like a man. Eurivin greeted the customers with a warm smile, though I could totally say that it was only a façade, knowing what she had been going through. I let my eyes wander around the shop and noticed how the place was giving a nice atmosphere. The music playing was relaxing, the place was also neat and clean, I could vouch that you wouldn’t spot dust even in the corners.
“It smells nice,” I muttered. The caramelized and almost nutty aroma of coffee was everywhere that nearly made me sniff the air like a dog.
Continuing my observation, the man who was shouting at Eurivin took away my attention.
“Your coffee here tastes like a cat's pee! I want a refund!” the man who cut in the line complained as he arrogantly whack his palm on the counter.
“Seriously? Him again? And he’s making a scene even here in a public place?” I snorted as I shook my head in disbelief.
“I'm very sorry sir if you think our coffee tastes like cat's pee, unfortunately, we cannot give you a refund because you already drank all the coffee,” Eurivin said indifferently.
“What did you say? I told you I want a refund! Call your manager right now!” he demanded.
“I apologize sir, but our manager is not present at the moment. If you have something to say, I can just relay it to him. Let’s settle this so that you won't disrupt our business and annoy our customers any longer,” Eurivin replied without any hesitations.
“Wow! I like her, she's fearless!” I said, cheering for her bravery.
He then suddenly grabbed her collar across the counter. “Aren’t you a brave one, huh?”
The customer behind him was surprised by his actions that she automatically covered her mouth and uttered, “oh my gosh!” under her breath. Even the other customers that were enjoying their coffee were now distracted by the scene. Some were mumbling, some were throwing glares.
“Let's not make this a big deal, sir. If you stop now and leave, I won't report you to the police. As you can see, everyone here is witness,” Eurivin calmly stated and took a glance at all the other customers.
He then looked around to see the disgusted faces of the other customers, and when he realized that he was in a bad situation, he finally let go of Eurivin and said, “Go to hell!”
He threw glares at the customers as he walked like he owned the world. A customer came in and he purposely bumped into him and left the shop without apologizing. The man made a face as if saying ‘what’s his problem?’ He just let him go and didn’t make a big deal out of it and smiled. The customers shook their heads and continued what they were doing, some got their focus back on their laptop, some were writing, and some were just scrolling through their phone and drinking their coffee.
“See, Mirim, how can I match that asshole with Eurivin? They definitely would just kill each other. Maybe I should just match him with that man,” I said, pointing out the man who just entered.
“But master, mismatching is a grave sin. You will be sent to hell and you know that.”
I chuckled. “Nah, let's not think about that. I'm sure they will understand my decision.”
The new customer fell in line while the woman who was behind James earlier neared the counter and stroked a compliment to Eurivin. “Hey, you were incredible! That man's face was priceless when you told him that all of us customers were your witness. I swear you've totally slain him!”
Eurivin smiled. “I apologize for the disturbance earlier, ma'am. I hope you still have the desire to try and order a coffee at our shop.”
The woman was giggling and obviously flirting with Eurivin as she twirled her hair and tugged her imaginary strands of hair behind her ear. I had seen a lot of girls do that every time I was around.
I crossed my arms over my chest and chuckled. “She must really think Eurivin is a he. No wonder, she is handsome, quite pretty for a boy, but not at the same level as me.”
“Uh, master, I think you should be focusing on what you need to do now.”
“Oh, yeah right. Let's get ready, Mirim.”
I activated my abrow and locked my aim at the man and Eurivin. I sighed in disbelief when the woman was still flirting with Eurivin and even asked for her number, but Eurivin rejected her that made the woman say something before she left, "you must think you're so handsome, but you're just a jerk."
The man that I was going to match with Eurivin chuckled as he neared the counter. "I'm sorry, it's just that. . . She must really think that you're handsome."
Eurivin smiled and said, "maybe."
When the man had made his order, I prepared myself and aimed at them even though I didn't have to, my arrows will always hit my target even if I closed my eyes and did not aim, but I still did it because I thought it was cool. I waited for the perfect moment and when Eurivin handed the coffee to the man, I released the love arrow shot and deactivated my bow.
“You know what, you are pretty for a boy. What is your secret?” the man asked Eurivin.
“Okay, that was a super awkward question,” I mumbled when I saw Eurivin smile which seemed to be forced, or maybe she didn't know how to react to that question.
"Uh, thank you for that compliment, sir," she said, it sounded more of a question than a statement. "Maybe my secret is that I was born a girl.”
The man’s eyes widened in surprise. Well, that was my reaction too when I found out that she was not a he.
“Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you were a boy. That could really mean that there is no man as pretty as you,” he said and Eurivin just smiled.
“That's because you've never seen me yet,” I mumbled.
The man adjusted his tie and cleared his throat. He was wearing a black suit and his brown hair was swept to the side. I thought to myself that maybe that hairstyle would suit me better, and then the green curly bottom of my hair will be cut, and then Vanessa wouldn't call me seaweed anymore.
The man kept adjusting his tie until he decided to speak again when Eurivin asked him if he wanted to add something to his order.
“No, I'm good, thanks. Uh, I'm Nathan, by the way. You, you are called. . . Vin?” he said as he squinted to read her nameplate.
Eurivin smiled. “Yes, sir. Short for Eurivin.”
Nathan nodded as he took a sip of his coffee. "Hmm, my coffee tastes great, thank you for always making it delicious, Vin. Anyway, I'm sorry that I just noticed you now, I was just always preoccupied with work.
"Uh, no problem, sir," she replied.
"Just call me, Nathan. No need to be formal, you know I'm a regular here and now that I have one more reason to come here at this cafe, we'll see each other more often."
"Woah, I didn't expect him to be so straightforward. But maybe that was the effect of the love arrow shot to him," I said and then started to walk out of the scene. It was too cheesy for me.
I slipped through the glass walls and before I could tell Mirim that we were gonna go back to the kingdom, she raised a question. "Master, can I ask you why did you choose that man?"
I halted my steps and crossed my arms over my chest. "Let me think about it. . . He seems decent."
"But what if he turns out to be an asshole too?"
"Don't worry about that," I said and took a brief pause before speaking again. "When James purposely bumped him, he didn't get mad or annoyed, he just smiled. That kind of reaction tells a lot of his personality. That kind of person will not waste his energy on some petty things, he's much focused on important things. He is mature enough to know what to—"
Mirim cut me off by the signal she was receiving. "Master, there is a signal coming from the crown prince."
"I know what you did, come back to the kingdom and report to me immediately," said the voice message from Carl.
"Master, what are we gonna do now?"
I sighed and furrowed my brows. "Uh, leave and go back to the kingdom? What else should we be doing? We already matched Eurivin."
"Are you gonna be okay?"
"Well. . . I'm doomed," I mumbled as I floated and flew back to the kingdom.
