Capítulo 2 My inmate's Fiance' is my ex-boyfriend

Chapter 2
Kelly picked up the suitcase given to her by Doña Helena and she stared at the entire mansion. "Adrian! I thought you loved me but why did you let me get hurt like this?" Kelly shouted outside the mansion. She waited for ten minutes outside because she hoped Adrian would change his mind but she only heard the barking of dogs so she decided to leave the mansion.
It was getting dark as she walked down the road, she couldn't stop herself from moaning because of the pain she felt. "Why are you doing this to me, Adrian? I came with you here because you promised to let me in as maid in your mansion but I'm so stupid because I fell in love with you," Kelly groaned as their first acquaintance flashed back to her memory. She kept walking and in the distance she saw a small shop so she thought of buying a drink because she was thirsty. She didn't have any money but she remembered what Doña Helena said that there was money in the suitcase so she thought of taking it. She slowly opened the suitcase and exposed to her eyes the rectangular large pink wallet. In her estimation, the wallet was full of money because it was bulging.
"It's a huge amount?" her eyes almost glazed over at what she witnessed because that was the first time she could handle a large amount of money.
"Why did Doña Helena put such a large amount in the suitcase?" she said to herself in confusion. She searched the suitcase and saw that even Doña's expensive clothes were also placed in the large suitcase that she was wondering about.
"Maybe she gave it to me because she tore my dress," Kelly sighed. She glanced at the open purse and was tempted to take money to buy drinks and bread because she was really hungry. While eating, she heard a police siren patrolling the road so she went out of the store and looked at it. She was surprised because the patrol car turned around and it stopped in front of her and even more surprisingly Doña Helena got out of the patrol car.
"She stole my suitcase containing five hundred thousand pesos and expensive clothes and jewelry!" Doña Helena howled as she pointed her finger at her. Kelly was shocked by Doña Helena's accusations against her.
"Catch that thief!" Doña Helena shouted at the police. Police officers approached Kelly and held her both hands. "Don't catch me because I didn't steal anything," Kelly said tearfully as she pulled her hands away.
"Don't lie because the evidence against you is strong!" the police blabbered indigantly. Kelly glanced at Doña Helena and saw her smiling slightly.
"Doña Helena, I stole nothing from you because you voluntarily gave it to me!" Kelly shouted with a tremor.
"Hey, don't make up a story!" Doña Helena approached Kelly and slapped her hard. "Do you think I'll give you such a large amount?" Kelly was even more nervous.
"You're a thief! You even took my expensive jewelry!" aired Doña Helena as she pointed at Kelly.
"Ma'am, you know what's true so please don't put me in jail," Kelly pleaded. "Someone like you deserves to be jailed because you're a thief!" Kelly felt twice as much pain because of the hurtful words being thrown at her.
"I didn't steal anything from you so please don't put me in jail," Kelly begged but Doña Helena didn't seem to listen her.
A group of reporters suddenly arrived and took a picture of her as she was being handcuffed by police. Kelly blushed in utter embarrassment as she could not believe that Doña Helena had been able to accuse her of a felony.
"What are you waiting for? Take that woman to jail!" Doña Helena shouted in a boastful tone.
"Let me go! I didn't do anything wrong," Kelly struggled as she glanced at Doña Helena but she saw her smiling mischievously. The police dragged her and put her in the patrol car. While riding in the patrol car, Kelly saw Doña Helena burst into tears while being interviewed by reporters.
"You're so heartless, Doña Helena!" Kelly said in a mute tone as she let out her tears. Kelly fell asleep due to extreme lethargy and she woke up when someone suddenly grabbed her hands. Kelly rolled her eyes and saw that they had reached the jail.
"Sir, let me go, Doña Helena just accused me," she begged.
"You need to get a good lawyer to dismiss the accusation against you," the police suggested to her.
"Sir, I'm just new here in Manila and I don't have money to pay for a lawyer," she said softly as tears streamed down her gentle face. "Forgive me but that's all I can advise you," a policeman said as he took pity on her.
Police took her to the women's jail and entered her along with other inmates.
Kelly was just quiet and always bent over while sitting in the corner of the jail.
"Wow! We have a new prisoner today," said a woman in her haughty voice. Kelly lifted her face and she saw a woman of medium build with chinese shaped eyes.
"Lady, what is your fault? Did they imprison you because of your seductive beauty?" the woman in front of her laughed and was obviously joking with her.
Kelly's tears began to flow and she couldn't help but moan in front of her fellow inmates. "I'm not at fault because I was just accused," she sobbed as she let out her tears.
"I am Jhanice Khan, my father is chinese and my mother is Filipina," the woman introduced herself while smiling. "Just call me, Kelly Sawyer," she said softly. " Is your father a foreigner?" Jhanice asked her without hesitation. Kelly just nodded and didn't utter a word. "Forgive me if I suddenly asked because your fair skin and blue eyes grabbed my attention,"Jhanice replied bluntly. "If you're being accused why don't you call your foreign father to help you get out of here," Jhanice suggested to her. Kelly's tears flowed again and she sobbed profusely. "When I was a child I never got to be with my real father," she shed tears as if she was going through something. "Cody Sawyer is my father's full name, according to my mother my father hasn't come back to us since he flew to America," Kelly replied sadly. Jhanice felt sorry for Kelly's ordeal so she patted her shoulder. "Would you like to call your mom? I'll lend you my mobile phone," she suggested. Kelly nodded and she rubbed her eyes as she picked up the phone Jhanice handed her. Kelly quickly dialed her mother's number because she had already memorized it. Her heart pounded when she heard her mother's voice on the other line. "Hello! Who is this?" her mother's voice seemed to growl.
"Mom, this is Kelly," she replied while trying to cheer up the tone of her voice. "Kelly, I'm grateful you called me today because I really need you," she heard her mother sob. "Mom, what happened to you?" she was troubled by what she heard from her mother. She would have liked to let her mother know she was incarcerated but it might have exacerbated her mother's problem. "Kelly, your stepfather is hurting us and he even beat up your younger brother," her mother moaned excessively. Kelly felt sorry for what she heard as she let her tears trickle down her cheeks.
"We need your help," her mother pleaded. "Mom, don't worry because I'm going home," she managed to calm her voice so that her mother wouldn't notice that she was going through something. "Kelly, I can't stand your stepfather anymore, I want to leave him," her mother moaned. "Mom, I'll just call again because my boss has arrived," she interrupted their conversation as she didn't want to add her mother's suffering. She took a deep breath as she handed Jhanice back her cellphone. Her fellow inmates stared at her tears that dripped freely on the floor.
"I can't afford to let my mom know everything I've been through right now because I don't want to add to her resentment," Kelly said as she glanced at Jhanice. Her fellow inmates embraced her because they felt sorry for what she had gone through.
Kelly restrained herself from sobbing because she knew it would be midnight and her fellow inmates would be asleep.
She just woke up because of the noise outside, so she got up quickly. Her other colleagues prepared their towels because they were just waiting for the correctional officers to open them so that they could take a bath and get dressed.
"Kelly, come with me and I'll just lend you a towel and clothes," Jhanice suggested to her because she knew she didn't have any clothes yet.
At eight o'clock, ten correctional officers arrived, opened their jail and released them one by one so that they could take a bath and eat breakfast.
As they exited, their correctional officer escorted each of them.
Kelly was silent as they walked towards the bathroom but she heard a familiar voice on the other corner.
"Ma'am, no other inmate has just entered here but Kelly Sawyer," the jail guard told his interlocutor.
"What? Kelly Sawyer!" Kelly heard the woman's voice as if amazed. "Get the girl out of here because I want to make sure she's really the Kelly I'm referring to!" the woman sassed.
Kelly was nervous because she seemed to hear Doña Helena's voice.
Soon after, a guard approached them and whispered to Kelly's escort. She was led by her escort towards the woman looking for her.
Kelly was shocked because she wasn't mistaken, Doña Helena turned out to be looking for her. She served as a slave in the mansion for three months but Doña Helena did not know her full name because she was too busy with their business.
