Capítulo 4 The Trip

"Why bring Micay? You know what will happen if ever," Miguel explained to Louie. The young man had just informed him of his intention to bring his sister to meet with the owner of one of the lands they planned to purchase the next day. That morning, they were eating breakfast in front of the dinner table, and the girl was still sleeping.
"Let her; it's better than her moping around, and she promised not to get out of the car when I spoke with the landowner."
It's up to you. As long as you keep your sister safe," his uncle replied.
"Don't worry; leave that land to me. All you have to worry about is finding Alicia." Miguel's face darkened when his nephew mentioned the woman's name.
"You still don't know where she is or where her possible child is?" the young man inquired before sipping his coffee, which could only be reached by one of the maids. "You've been looking for them for twenty-five years and still haven't found them," the young man said, shaking his head.
"Did you think it was that simple?" That woman is good at hiding. Just be thankful that she hasn't considered going back and insisting on his son's right to his father's wealth."
"That's what you hope doesn't happen," the old man said, looking at his nephew. "Remember when another of Henry's children shows up..."
"Will this be my last? Is that all you ever going to say? " The young man met his uncle's gaze, irritated. "I'm just saying, Louie..."
"Make sure they don't step on any of my properties, and just make sure Micay doesn't know about them!" With that, the young man stood up and left their dining area, heading straight to the living room, while the newly awakened girl went downstairs.
"How come your forehead is wrinkled so early in the morning?" the girl inquired sweetly. She approached the older brother and took a seat beside him.
But her older brother did not respond. "Whatever the problem is, you can fix it. Just relax, brother," she said before kissing him on the cheek. "Everything will be fine soon," the girl thought to herself as she walked to the dining area to eat her breakfast.
"Good morning, Uncle Miguel," the girl said cheerfully. She walked up to his uncle and kissed him on the cheek before moving to the opposite side of the dining table.
"How are your studies going?"
"I'm still on top," the girl cheerfully replied. "That's why we love you; you never let me or your brother down."
"Of course uncle, that's all I can give back to brother Louie and you, isn't it?" The girl's smile lingered. A few moments later, one of the maids approached her and handed her the milk. "Thank you, Lina," she said, smiling before returning to the kitchen.
"It's still early, but it appears that you and Louie are arguing; is there a problem?" the girl inquired after finishing her milk and setting her glass on the table.
"There's just a minor issue, but let us handle it," the old man replied. The girl only looked at her uncle for a moment before returning to her breakfast.
Monday morning, the young man got up early to prepare all of the paperwork for the land purchase. Louie was just waiting for his sister to wake up so he could get ready for their departure. His well-dressed sister knocked on his door a few hours later."
"Are you really that excited?
" He laughed before messing up her hair as he spoke to her.
"Louie, stop it," she said as she wiped his hand away, still laughing as he apologized to his sister; he knew his sister didn't want to be touched, especially in her hair, and messed it up.
"Hernan is already waiting for us," the girl said as she brushed her unkempt hair.
"Come on then," the young man laughed before putting his arm around his sister.
Micay smiled as soon as she walked into her room. She refused to bring her nanny, no matter what her uncle and older brother insisted. She is too old to bring her nanny, and it will only complicate her plans. A knock came on the girl's door as she was arranging her belongings. When the door opened, the girl's lips drew a big smile.
"Just as I thought you were the one I saw earlier when I got out of the car," the newcomer said. "I won't be long; someone else may see me; I'll just hand it over to you," he said as he handed the USB to the girl.
"Are you sure that's him?" the girl inquired, reaching for the USB.
"Since when will I make a mistake?" "Remember when I told you before, when they were trying to replace you when you were a baby, I recovered you right away, didn't I?" the other person replied with a smile, but that person quickly turned serious. "Just be cautious."
"Sure, you know how good I am, don't you?" the girl replied solemnly. Her eyes were glazed over with hatred, as was her gentle face. The cellphone in the girl's pocket suddenly rang. He only spoke for a few minutes before hanging up and addressing the visitor again.
"It's time," she said, a meaningful smile on her lips. The other person just smiled back before kissing her on the cheeks and leaving.
While walking down the stairs, she ran into one of Louie's men on his way to Micay's room.
"Who's that, Ma'am Micay? She's so pretty," he said, his gaze fixed on the stairs.
"I'm not sure, she just handed me my keychain that I had lost."
He just nodded and looked at the girl as if he remembered something. "Sir Louie wants to talk to you," he said, almost forgetting what he was going to say.
"You saw a beautiful woman, and you almost forgot why you're here," the girl laughed, before closing the door.
Only a few minutes later, the girl entered the living room, where her older brother was sitting and watching television while she waited. "Aston told me you wanted to talk to me," she smiled as she sat next to the young man. "I'll go somewhere; is it okay for you to be alone here?" he asked his sister.
"It's boring when I'm alone here, but I don't want to go to your boring meeting either," she said, sitting cross-legged with her elbow on her knee and her hand on her chin as if thinking. "I'll just go shopping," she cheerfully told her brother.
"OK, I'll ask someone to accompany you."
"Don't worry, Louie, I'm not well-known here, so maybe it's okay for me to wander alone," she cut off her older brother's sentence.
"However, Micay..."
"It's okay; I'm already a lady; just take me to the mall and then pick me up after your meeting," she said, her brother's face hardened.
"Please, Louie, I'm a good girl, aren't I?" sighed the young man before continuing. "All right, all right."
"Yey!" the girl exclaimed, hugging and kissing her brother on the cheek, "but promise me, don't let anyone court you, and..."
"I'll call you right away if anything happens," the cheerful girl added to what her brother had said.
While getting up from his seat, the young man simply shook his head.
"Fix yourself because we're leaving after lunch," the young man replied, and his sister dashed to her room.
