Tyler's POV
Nandito na kami sa loob ng rest house. Hindi lang pala ito mukhang malaki. Malaki talaga siya.
Let me give you a little description of the interior design. Very homey ang design and cabin themed which I really like. Halos lahat ng mga furnitures dito ay made of woods. It has three bedrooms and four bathrooms.
It's still modern though. Kumpleto sa mga appliances. There's a club room where you will be greeted by a luxurious billiard table and a TV area. There's a wet bar in the corner and we even have a wine cellar. The kitchen is European style and is connected to the patio with an outdoor barbeque space. An infinity pool that overlooks Felona City.
This is just perfection.
"I can't stay here," sabi ko sa kanila. No matter how beautiful this place is, it will not change the fact na lapitin 'to ng mga insects na hate na hate ko.
"Oh c'mon dude. Don't put our money to waste," reklamo ni Sean.
"Did I asked for this?" blanko kong sagot. Naiiling naman silang napatingin sa'kin.
"A thank you would be nice Mister Tyler Luigi Alcasid," pilosopong sabi ni Jared sa'kin. Hindi ko sila pinansin at tumingin sa pinapanood naming palabas.
"I'm leaving tomorrow," sabi ko sa kanila at uminom ng tequila. Bahagya pang kumunot ang noo ko sa tapang ng liquor.
"Oo p're! Hahaha. Bukas aalis rin tayo kaagad. Chill ka nga lang!" natatawang sabi ni David at nagsalin ng tequila sa shot glass niya.
This stupid mother fucker is making fun of me. Bigla akong nakaramdam ng uhaw. I need something to drink. Like literally something that I can drink to wash my mouth.
Tumayo ako at naglakad papunta ng kusina. Medyo dizzy na ako pero hindi pa naman ako lasing. I can still walk properly and see clearly.
"Smells like strawberries," bulong ko sa sarili ko. Strange.
Napailing ako nang maalala ko ang mga kuwento sa lugar namin. Kapag daw kasi nakaamoy ka ng strawberries may malapit na fairy sa'yo. Trash.
"Now I'm craving for a cupcake." I have a sweet tooth. Sweet chocolates and desserts are my stress reliever aside from nature.
Dahil sa naamoy ko ay nag-crave tuloy ako. Lumapit ako sa two door refrigerator at naghanap ng makakain.
Yes! Alam nilang mahilig ako sa matatamis kaya maraming chocolates at cupcakes sa refrigerator. Since sa cupcake ako nag ke-crave ngayon, 'yun ang kakainin ko. Kumuha ako ng cupcake sa box at saka ito nilantakan.
Mag-gym na lang ako after this. I need to get rid of all the calories. Kahit naman girlfriend ko ang mga sweet desserts na 'to I still need to take care of my health. Wala sa New year resolution ko ang magka-diabetes.
"BUGS!" sigaw ni Jared na nagpalaki ng mata ko. Did he just say bugs?! Fuck! I need to hide! Binitawan ko ang cupcake na hawak ko at lumabas ng kusina. I saw them running around like lunatics.
Nagmamadali akong umakyat at pumasok sa Master's bedroom. They've mentioned na protected 'to sa kahit ano mang insects. Kita ko naman. Windows and doors are tightly secured by anti-insect nets.
"I'm about to kill all of you once I get out of here," asar na bulong ko.
Pinagmasdan ko ang view mula sa bintana. Wala naman mas'yadong insekto dito. This house is surrounded by marigold plants. It's the most well-known plant for repelling insects. I have a lot of those at home but it kinda stinks.
"P're sorry na. Nagbibiruan lang naman kami," rinig kong sabi ni David sa labas ng pinto na lalong kinainit ng ulo ko. Biro ba ang tingin nila sa phobia ko?
Binuksan ko ang pinto at mukha nilang tatlo ang bumungad sa'kin. These idiots. Mga nakatungo sila at halatang guilty sa kaignorantehang ginawa nila.
"Get out," malamig na sabi ko. Nagtataka naman silang tumingin sa'kin. Dis oras na ng gabi pero wala akong pakialam. Bahala sila.
"Dude naman eh," reklamo ni Sean.
"We can't drive alam mo namang uminom kami. Baka mahuli kami," dagdag ni Jared.
"Sorry na Luigi!" magkadikit pa ang mga palad na pakiusap ni David. Mukha siyang tanga.
"Get lost," ulit ko. Nakatayo pa rin sila na parang nagpapakiramdaman pa. "One..." hindi na nila hinintay na bumilang ako at mabilis na silang umalis.
Naging black belt ako sa taekwondo noong sixteen years old ako. After kasi ng incident na nagdulot ng phobia ko nabully ako ng sobra.
My classmates often saw me running away from butterflies. Sino ba namang hindi matatawa 'di ba? Ang cute ng butterfly sa paningin nila pero sa akin hindi.
It gives me an unpleasant crawling sensation all over my skin. Then I'll start to have anxious thoughts about getting bitten by them. It's terrible that when I see one I'll start trembling and sweating. It's not fun.
Narinig ko ang tunog ng mga sasakyan nilang papaalis na. They really left, huh? Kahit na gaano ako kasungit sa mga kaibigan ko deep inside na-aappreciate ko ang mga efforts nila. I'm just not kind enough to show my gratitude to them.
I'm very complicated kaya hindi ako pumapasok sa kahit ano mang relationship. Alam ko namang pera ko lang ang gusto nila. Kung hindi naman pera ay fame. Those whores are all gold diggers.
Especially her.
My mother is a gold digger.
Nang nakaramdam ako ng inip sa loob ng k'warto ay lumabas na ako. I want to go outside and swim. Watch the night view of Felona City.
I head downstairs with both of my hands on my pockets. Pagkalabas ko pa lang ay malamig na hangin na ang sumalubong sa'kin. It's not cold enough though to stop me from diving on the pool. Hinubad ko ang damit ko pati ang slacks ko. I'm going to swim.
Tumalon ako sa tubig at sumisid. It feels great being underwater. If only I could breathe on water I would live my life here. Insects can't be on water that's why. The water is not cold. Medyo mainit nga siya eh. May pool heater siguro ito. Tinaas ko ang ulo ko at hinihingal na tumingin sa view.
"It's beautiful," bulong ko. Mga matataas na building at makukulay na ilaw.
"But nature is more beautiful." Ngumisi ako at hinayaan ang sarili kong lumutang sa tubig. Ang mga bituin ang bumungad sa'kin.
"The weather seems fine. Marami sila ngayon," kausap ko sa sarili ko. Ang tinutukoy ko ay 'yung mga stars. Sabi kasi kapag maulan walang stars. Pero dahil maraming stars ngayon it's vice versa.
Nanlaki ang mata ko nang may biglang shooting star ang mabilis na dumaan.
What the fuck? Is that for real?
Agad akong pumikit at nag-wish. Sayang naman kasi. Don't laugh at me. It's what my Mom taught me. I mean...nevermind.
"Bring joy to my life," mahinang wish ko.
When I say bring joy, I meant more money.
Nagmulat ako ng mata at isang magandang babae ang bumungad sa'kin.
"Oh it's a girl..." Pinikit ko ulit ang mata ko habang nakangiti ang mga labi ko pero agad nabura 'yon nang marealize ko ang nakita ko.
"A GIRL?"
Muli akong tumingin sa gilid ng pool at nakita ko ang magandang babaeng nakaupo at suot ang damit ko.
