Chapter 2
Maia woke up in an unfamiliar room. The room has an eccentric design that is pleasing to her eyes. Maia look at the room, it is huge than her room in their house, but it is still unfamiliar and Maia was starting to feel nervous.
The thought of their house makes the memories of what happened yesterday flood in her mind. From her father not going home up to the woman and her father making her mind in turmoil with the information they just told her, not to forget, them, throwing all the things she has, away from her room up until the big gray wolf.
‘What just happened yesterday?’ Maia asked herself. She was still unaware of where she is and why she is here.
Maia checked her body, if ever there is a missing limb or a bruise in her body, but fortunately none of her body parts is missing.
“I’m glad you’re awake” a tall guy walked inside the room. He was somewhat handsome and she can’t feel any danger on him.
“Who are you?” Maia asked the tall guy, not minding his beautiful face.
The guy has a curly hair that complements his face. His amber eyes tell Maia that the man in front of her should be respected. He has a masculine body that is usually seen in the billboards or in the magazine. He has this perfect tanned body that makes him hotter.
“Apollo” he said shortly.
I continued looking at my surrounding, I was focused on every details that I didn’t notice that someone entered the room again
“Maia” someone called her from the back.
The voice is husky that makes Maia stilled. Maia waited for the man to call her name again, but didn’t happen so she decided to look at the man in her back, thinking that the man just called her with his deep voice.
As soon as Maia looks at the person who called her name, her heart starts beating faster, her knees starting to tremble and can almost feel her hands shaking. The man in front of her is no longer Apollo. Apollo is cannot be seen in the four corners of the room.
The man is an inch or two taller than Apollo. He has a proud cheekbone and a wide shoulder. What amazed Maia the most is the color of his eyes. It is the shade of gray that almost in the shade of silver. He has this cold stare that makes him look dominant in every way.
The man look at her intently that makes her conscious of her face, Maia’s a bit shy, but she can’t afford to look away from him, feels like she would die if she looks away from his stare. He walk slowly towards her that makes her heart beat go wilder.
‘What’s happening to me?’ she asked herself again
He stopped when there is only enough space left between them.
‘What is this man doing to me? He’s invading my personal space’ Maia thought to herself, but it seems like she doesn’t care about her personal space anymore.
Confusion is written all over Maia’s face at that moment. She can’t even make a step away from this man, his presence doesn’t seem to bother her, which is weird, for her.
“How did you know my name?” Maia asked the guy in front of her. The guy is still looking at her intently but this time it has shade of disappointment.
What did I do? I just stood here, I didn’t even move, did I disappoint him in some way?
“W-who are you?” Maia asked him hesitantly, he was still standing there.
Someone knocked in the door that makes their staring contest came to an end. Maia lose, the man in front of her keep on staring at her while she is now looking at Apollo who is now inside of the room.
“Alpha!” Apollo called the guy in front of me.
Alpha? Maia stilled when she realized where she is right now. She is sure, she is in the pack house, but not sure which pack house. There are several pack houses near their area, but the wolves didn’t allowed human to enter. That’s one of the reasons why she is confused.
‘Who bring me here?’ Maia wants to ask the two guys standing in front of him but they looks like they are talking with each other.
People in her town don’t want to encounter a werewolf in any circumstances. They tend to avoid them for some unknown reason. There is a rumor that the werewolves killed a thousand of people just to get the place they want, they even said that werewolves tends to be territorial and don’t like socializing with the humans.
The two left the room leaving her confused on what is going on, Maia wants to leave the house but can’t. Thinking that the wolves will kill her the moment that she step her foot outside, makes her wants to stay on that room.
‘Why did they bring me here? Are they going to eat me?’ some questions that keeps on running on her head.
On the third time, someone entered the room. The woman enter with a tray of food in her hands.
That’s when her stomach started making a sound.
“Hello” Maia greets the woman politely. But the woman seem not to hear her
The woman just bows her head which make Maia more confuse.
“Where am I?” Maia tried to ask the woman who is now putting the foods in the table.
The woman just keeps her silence and leave after doing what she is told to do. Ignoring her question
‘Did that woman just ignore me?’ Maia can’t believe what just happened. She walked through the door and to her surprise it is not locked. She walk on what she believes is the way out of the place.
The place is so neat and so silent yet she feels so unwelcome by the atmosphere of the place.
The two wolves stopped in front of her and bow their heads.
“Luna” they said in unison, with questions on her mind, she continued walking.
‘Are they saying that I am their Luna?’ Maia’s head is now in turmoil. She doesn’t know what to do or to think anymore. Maia didn’t know that a pack can have a human as their Luna.
She doesn’t know if she should bow her head like what the two werewolves did or just ignore them. Maia chose the latter.
She knows what Luna is. Her mother used to say things about what the ‘Luna’ is and what they are doing in the pack. Maia stopped walking for a while to digest all the information she got.
Finally, she decided to go back in the room she stayed earlier and wait for their Alpha.
She decided to eat the food they give her since she’s already hungry. The Alpha didn’t show that day. She was a little disappointed that the questions will remain in her head.
A knock wake her up in her rivalry. Maia thought that the Alpha will finally talk to her but to her disappointment Apollo entered the room. Apollo noticed the change in mood of Maia’s face.
Apollo tried to hide the amusement he has but Maia already caught him smiling.
“What?” Maia asks him, Maia’s disappointment suddenly turned into frustration that is witnessed by the Beta.
“Nothing, just try to hide your disappointment next time” he told her.
“Am I too obvious?” Maia asked him that makes him burst into laughter. She watched Apollo laugh his heart out and wait for him to stop.
“Before I forgot, the Alpha said that the two of you will talk tomorrow” he said before leaving the room.
‘Tomorrow then’ Maia felt excited that she had a hard time falling sleep that night.
